what’s your preferred way to organize your books - alphabetically or by color?! or some secret third thing? 👀
COLOR SHELVES!!!!!
genre
niche genres into general genre stuff
and my art books are organized by publisher
Order that I read them for my read shelves and genre for my TBR shelf
❤️ I read the collected works of Audre Lorde this year and it’s not quite as daunting as it looks (it goes quickly) and it’s really great. Peek the accidental double print of one of the poems in it tho 💀
so pumped to read more of her stuff!! that’s hilarious about the double poem 😭
Ahhhhhh so daunting and yet so satisfying in the end, eh? Love it!
yes i’m so glad i ended up doing it!! didn’t take nearly as long as i was expecting it to tbh!!
the walk into frame at the beginning killed me
walk of shame tbh
Omg i’m about to buckle in i love these vids 😁😁😁
omg the way i was watching your q&a while this was uploading 😭
@@casskrug ALSO! re: chicago recs, i have so many. restaurants - i love testaccio, le bouchon, lula cafe, sushi dokku, cafe baba reba, chefs special. coffee shops - wormhole, ipsento 606, doma, loba, sawada, bourgeois pig, gaslight coffee roasters. bars - estereo, the whistler, easy does it, central park bar, john’s food and wine, podlasie, smart bar (last two are fun places to go out) and bookstores - myopic, open books, exile in bookville, unabridged, pilsen community books, city lit books
@@kailienatsu okay this list is INCREDIBLE thank you so much for this!! sending it to the group chat so we can plan our itinerary 🫡
So I'm a non-book organizer. I do kind of like, clusters on my bookshelf. Some books that feel like they "go together," often because I bought them at the same time. And some books in a color cluster because they look good beside each other. I have two small/medium bookshelves, so I think this is made possible by not having many books.
feeling like stuff goes together because you bought them at the same time is soooo real. that’s how i was feeling with all the new books i needed to shelve in this video!! i had a similar setup to you when i had a smaller bookshelf too
spring cleaning done right!
Faber not aligning to aesthetics is the greatest downfall to the Cusk collection lol
literally i opened the package with that book in it and was like …oh…okay… 🙃
I saw middlesex on your tbr shelf and you should definitely get around to it! It's my favorite book ever!
you’re the second person to point it out! i’ll definitely have to make it a higher priority
I personally organize by color...which can be annoying lol also I love your book taste and collection :) thanks for sharing!
it looks so cool but i just know i would overthink how to set them up!! thanks for tuning in 🤩
Thanks for sharing! 😎📚👍
thanks for tuning in!!
Love your collection! And btw, you put Tampa by Alissa Nutting between two Sigrid Nunez books on your TBR shelf
omg good eye 😭😂
ugh i really should do this too with my shelves but it feels so intimidating. i started making piles on the floor 😂 and i put a plant on it to make it look like it’s not chaos lololol
i rlly need to read the copenhagen trilogy!! it’s been sitting on my shelves for a while now
okay but i LIVE for the setup you have in the background of your videos!! i’m going to have to start doing piles pretty soon here too 😂
I would highly recommend "Middlesex." I read it right after graduating college (after owning it for years) because I finally had time to sink into it. It was really immersive and transforming for me.
ooooh good to know!! i’ve also had it for years lmao. have you read any of his other books? i really loved the virgin suicides and i thought the marriage plot was just okay
@@casskrug I read the Virgin Suicides as a teen and don’t remember it at all. Didn’t try the Marriage Plot!
no more hunting for nyrbs until we read the ones we own 🫡
let the record show you have tried to influence me into purchasing more
@@casskrug your honor, motion to strike that from the record
Haha im an alphabetical by last name organizer too...the time I spent working in a library left its mark on me 😂 love your shelves! where are they from if you remember??
hahaha old habits die hard!! the shelves are from target, unfortunately i don’t think they’re available anymore (or else i’d order another lmao) but this is the name i have in my target orders:
72" 5 Shelf Loring Ladder Bookshelf Vintage Oak - Threshold
okay wait actually i lied - i just googled the name and it looks like target has a new listing for the shelf!!
Thanks so much!! 💖
Found your channel & subbed! I love the way you organized your read shelf, it looks so perfect! Welcome to the club! ✨📚 I have a very personal question for you. What really inspired you to start a Booktube channel?
thank you so much for tuning in and for your kind words!! i’ve been watching a ton of really great creators on here for a while now and they really inspired me to share my thoughts!! i wanted an outlet to really talk through the books i read and connect with people who have similar tastes!!
