I bought a fully loaded cruze LTZ for $1500 with 100k miles. It had a blow Head gasket. Replaced the whole motor for $2,000. And now for $3500 total I have a perfect running $7,000 cruze lol. Sometimes it’s worth it to roll the dice

With almost 300K miles, I would check the catalytic converter. A clogged converter will cause the heating problem. I’ll bet that if you replace it you would be good unless your pushing it over the limit trashed the engine.

I would keep the battery and put a junk one in it.
I mean it needs an engine, a battery is going to be the least of anybody's concerns. I might even sell it right to the junkyard, you might get more money out of it than sending it back to auction.
When I attended SUNY Morrisville one of the professors had a hobby of buying old clunkers and just letting them run with a brick on the pedal to see how long before they'd blow up.
The best story on one of those was a late 70s Nova with an inline six. They did all kinds of stuff to it trying to kill it, coolant added to the oil, etc. but it was so sloppy that it would just heat up until the pistons would lock up... then once cooled down it would start up again.

@@Duckswag87 A junkyard will buy it and part it out. There is no category like that. It either runs or it doesn't. A battery at this point won't matter. He might as well keep it to offset what loss he is going to take.

But knowing you now over many years, I believe that you will take a smart decision as always and in this case I assume that you would hire someone to do the moving work for you and it is a good decision also because your time worth more than couple hundred dollars and giving somebody a chance to make a living too.
I love your Videos and specially the encouraging ones and the credit cards Video is very motivating and I used what your father told you to give my depressed GF some hope and positivity but sadly you removed it.

I’m not sure how people get their custom vehicles registered from bits and pieces of other vehicles but I think it would be the same way if you combined these two vehicles and then Randy would be able to do something with the old body of the GMC instead of it just sitting there gathering rust. Yes it would be cool to get it going with all the original parts but that has been unsuccessful in getting the title done. So maybe it would make it possible to come up with one very cool vehicle out of the two? I would certainly love to have an old looking truck with modern guts! That might be a cool name for the truck? “Modern Guts”! I also think Randy is up to the challenge! If he’s interested?

No wonder GM went bankrupt wasting their time on something this useless
