  • Today, I'm linking up with Joe South of PED to take a quick look at the new Exmark 144" Lazer Z lawn mower. This massive diesel-powered zero-turn can mow up to 11 acres per hour and has a small enough footprint to fit inside an enclosed trailer!
    For some of you guys that have giant HOA properties, municipal parks and rec areas, this one is for you. The productivity of this machine has no comparison, even with the hefty price tag north of $80k!
    Not sponsored, just Joe and I having fun at our 3.5-acre property and mowing some lawns on a weekday. I love it! Thanks for the demo, Joe, and thank you for watching y'all!

    Still a hard sale when the 72" is around 15k. Even with extra operating cost you are still coming out way ahead with 2x 72" based on a 2000 hr. analysis. Plus you have more manpower for other projects and aren't dead in the water is a mower goes down. I guess it would be more enticing if I had a contract to cut central park.

    Basically it’s designed for large institutions ie college grounds and government institutions parks and recreation areas. The big question is the cost of a contractor to transport that size machine from job site to job site. You will have to limit the equipment you carry in order to fit the machine in your current trailer unless you decide to invest into a trailer to specifically carry the machine of that size. It all comes down to the numbers and do you have the work to keep the machine busy in order to receive your return on investment.

      @@Alex.AL_26 Exactly spot on! Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice machine but for contractors I don’t think it’s economically feasible, we ran Jacobson Mowers of that size which were nice machines when I was employed by Oakland County Government back in the 1980’s and those were in the $40 to $50 thousand dollar price range at that time and were front/side mounted mowers and completely incompatible to transport from job site to job site.

    I love these but it seems.
    1. Zero turn seems redundant
    2. Size of tires vs weight of machine?
    3. Spending 80k on a sole mower vs. A used tractor and wide width mower & a nice snow blade cost the same.
    I think the biggest benefit is storage/ability to float more of them. But you put 3 of these, you’d want to be cutting 1000 acres of grass in a week.

    • @PeterGregg
      @PeterGregg Před 11 měsíci

      You are a really nice and cool guy. I have had the R6 here (16mm is one f my favorite lenses) so I am intimately familiar with the camera. I just did a video in the past month on my channel as to why it is still one of the better buys out there even with the Mark II being out there. Now that I know what you are shooting I recognize what I was seeing.
      You video on this awesome mower was very intriguing and I got caught in my own trap when I normally reject the warbling that Canon introduces on the wider lenses. In the first few minutes when there was 2 talking heads in frame and you panned slightly the stabilizer in the camera did it's thing and it was distracting. Mine does the same thing lol.
      So you DO have one of the best choices out there :) I have recommended that camera to to 3 carpet cleaners, one landscaper, and a bunch of people entering the content creator arena. It's just a very solid good camera. The question I get on my channel is not that eternal "what is the meaning of life" question, but the "what camera do I buy" question.
      There is a new camera that has caught my eye and I will be bringing aboard and it is the one I rudely spewed out at you (I apologize for that, people mostly don't pay attention to what I tell them even though they want advice). The unique thing is you ARE one of the people I watch consistently just because you have a kind personality, you give attention to kids, and it's so opposite to what I do I just relax when watching.
      So in a more adult approach, I'll point out that the specific camera I mentioned is just about the only "giant step forward" any camera company has done in a very long time. One of my online jokes is when I like a camera I will say something like "it's a great camera, the only thing wrong with it is it doesn't say "Canon" on it :) I'm a Canon fan boy lol.
      The only camera out there (sorry to talk your ear off) that would actually make your final videos take a step up is this specific (not just any Sony camera, I don't even care for Sony all that much) one camera. If you want to have a conversation about it, I don't want to write a book. Email me at petergreggonline@aol.com
      I can share about that camera, and if you don't know how to use the FV mode on the R6 - let's just say it's magical. It'll take your camera and your experience with that camera to whole new level of operation and I'll teach you how to use that :) Thanks for answering my comment, I figured it would just fly off into oblivion. I'm going "live" in an hour on my other channel so I have to go. Your channel is awesome, and the reason is you! Keep it rolling :) Later gator 🐊
