My favorites are Athena and Artemis, love what they both represent so I couldn't possible pick between the two :) But I tend to worship Hecate anyway lol

Artemis is definitely my favourite, because I'm hunter. It is still a custom among the hunters, that when we raise our wine glasses, we use our left hands to leave right hand free for Artemis =)

Personally my favourite goddess outside the 12 is Iris, but in the 12, my fave is Athena.

My favourite ancient Greek goddess is Athena. she's brave, she's respectful, she's beautiful, and a great role model to look up to.
And my favourite ancient Greek God is Apollo. Apollo has always stood out in my eyes. my personality and his personality are very similar therefore he's always been my favorite. he's the God of music and poetry archery medicine and plague. and much more. I've always looked up to Apollo, ever since I have learned about him.
I kinda might seem crazy but who cares I actually believe in the ancient Greek gods and goddesses. also I believe in Egyptian goddesses and gods. and I believe in the Christianity God. also I believe in Allah. I know many people hate that but I don't care it's what I want to believe in. and I won't have negativity stand in the way of my life.

It;s a common phrase used in alot of things. Books, adverts, tv shows etc. It is only natural for you to have heard it. Hope that clears some things up for you :)

Artemis is sometime identified as her for the crescent moon on her forehead.

@shuntal99 She was the Goddess of war in the sense of battle strategy...not to mention she kicked Ares ass TWICE on the battlefield in The Iliad so who is better at it?
@mettalica1017 in your language is Ephialtes, he is not a spirit exactly, he was the one who betrayed leonidas in thermopylae and he has given that name to represent what he was among Greeks

Hestia is the goddess of the hearth and of the right ordering of domesticity and family She is originally listed as one of the 12 Olympians but when Dionysus was offered a seat among the Olympians their number became 13 Believing this would create a fight amongst the Olympians as the gods outnumbered the goddesses Hestia selflessly steped down As for Hades he was not generally included in the list He did not have a seat in the pantheon because he spent all of his time in the underworld

Amphritie is the wife of Poseidon. Medusa was cursed by Athena when Medusa slept with Poseidon on the floor of Athena's temple.

actually the 12 gods of Olympus dont have nothing to do with modern greeks of today. there was no such thing as "greek" during those times.
they are PELASGIAN GODS and PELASGIAN mythology which modern greeks have adopted as their own through academic corruptions and lies.

@beowulf752 There are tons of different versions of Greek Mythology so no single one is right over the other. I personally like the version where Artemis takes her as her priestess rather than having her sacrificed.

Athena's Roman name was Minerva. Aphrodite's was Venus :P
Demeter's pretty cool, too!
They didn't actually sacrifice Agamemnon's daughter! They were about to and Athena took her and in her place put a fawn. Agamemnon's daughter was then kept in one of Athena's temples.

Hehe I don't know those two can be just as petty as the other gods,(turning a girl into a spider and gauging out a man's eyeballs lol!) but I agree they are pretty cool. My personal favorite is Iris because she can travel through all worlds as fast as the wind. =D

hades was band from mt olimpus zeus and posiden used their powers to scare hades out of mt olypus but hades fought the trojan warriors
Athena is the goddess of both War and Wisdom. Many gods and goddesses doubled up.
@mariztela20 :O I really wanted to see that movie but never got round to it! I study Classical Civilisation at college but i'm rubbish at the battles and democracy and tyranny and all that jazz, the only thing i'm good at is the Gods and Godesses :P Sadly, the exams aren't just about them though :(

Here's what i would've done to settle this conflict between the three goddesses. If i was Paris i would've cut the Apple in three half's & gave Hera, Athena & Aphrodite each a half & said they where all three the most fairest goddesses.
You know, I once read a version where he suggests doing exactly that. But Hermes said no, he had to follow Zeus' instructions to the letter.
Well we both know taking advice from Hermes & Zeus on not cutting the apple was obviously a big mistake because the other two goddess Hera & Athena still wanted to be the fairest & went on troubling Paris & the city of Troy with war & chaos.
@amoamihija1 Venus is Aphrodite's name when the Romans came to power. Nearly every God/Goddesses name changed except Apollo i believe :)

the capital of Greece was going to be named after Poseidon or Athena. well they decided to name the capitol Athens after Athena,
My Question is ,what would the name of the capitol if it was named after Poseidon ?
@amoamihija1 Aphrodite was called Venus in the Roman version. Since this video talks about a distinctly Greek tale, and used the Greek names for the others, then it's not really fitting to use her Roman name here.

They missed Persyphone nad Iris. I'm not sure about Iris, though.
Chapman Cheung Persephone is not an Olympian goddess but a Ktonian (in Hades realm) and Iris is an Egyptian godess, hence no information about them in this video :)
Elin Hallén Iris is the rainbow-goddess of Greek. ISIS is the egyptian goddess who was married by Osiris. -_-

Hades is technically not an Olympian since he was cast down to his palace in the underworld
@foreverdawn26 But what about Hades( ruler of the underworlds god of wealth & death) and and Hestia , they were Olympians at times, right :( By the way, im always unsure about Hestia... all i have read about her leads me mostly to goddess of peace, hearth, fireplace and family...
