- Mike sits down with the legendary comedian and writer Seth Meyers for a conversation that reveals who is secretly the funniest of the funniest at SNL behind the scenes and who was the most popular Strike Force Five host. Then, Mike and Seth work out new material about serial killers, the D.A.R.E. program, and dropping acid in Amsterdam. Plus: who will take over for Lorne Michaels after he leaves SNL?

Same! This was a great interview, loved every minute!!
I wish this was thicker.
Same!
I would have liked at least another 1/2 hour!
Uh oh.
I can't hear the phrase "strike force five" without hearing a thunder clap in my head.
And yet, it still has the power to startle
Sameeee😅
After a week with out late night(or Corrections!) this is a heaven-sent watch.
The withdrawals are real.
When is episode 100.?
I wish I had found this while they were on hiatus!
@@kicsms_science3729Luckily, I have.
I could listen to them for hours and hours
Seth and Mike have similar interview styles. They have thoughtful questions prepared, but they also know when to let the conversation drift and riff … great episode
Any jackals in the house?
🐾 Hiatus has me in withdrawals! I am SO tickled to see two of my faves together here ❤
Always!
Heyyy 🙋♀️
At least till Thursday...
Of course!! Must consume all things Seth. 🐾
He's wearing the shacket!
Mike asks interesting questions that allow Seth to be himself. Excellent. Two of our best comics showing their talents.
It’s called asking “open-ended” questions.
Oh gosh, I love them running new joke material with each other for feedback. This is so cute!!
It's the premise of the show, so looots more of that for you to enjoy in the catalogue! ;)
What's up, Jackals... xo
Just waiting for more LNSM!
🐾
I really love how Seth can be real. Thank you for this conversation
My husband is a lawyer and lawyers constantly time things cuz, ya know, billable hours. It's maddening. It comforts me to know Seth has an internal stopwatch going at all times. Loved this conversation!
The day drinking shacket has returned!
YES! Go day-drinking with Birbiglia!! Somehow, I think he'll be even funnier when he's drunk. He's such a delight, how could he not be fun to go day-drinking with!
This was an unmitigated delight to listen to
This could be 3 hours long and I would listen to it.
Could have listened for hours to these two talking. Seth is really really great.
"Every character's Alamo, that you're watching in real time."
PERFECT way to describe the best ITYSL characters! Tim Robinson is a once-in-a-generation comedy genius
Mike is such a magnificent host. Such an intimate and relaxed interview.
Kenan was a Nick kid. He was All That, Keenan and Kel, Goodburger. A show called Kenan. He is a Mighty Duck, a Heavyweight, and guest star gold for any series.
You all gave him wonderful props for his SNL longevity, but you have to also acknowledge that he was a big fish from day one on SNL and may have been brought in to pull his 90’s fan base.
It’s been very cool growing up with him and watching him thrive. I’m 35 and can’t remember a single time in my life where Kenan hasn’t been there.
Another winner. I could listen to the two of you all day
The "it's a long life" section the best advice. I'm about to turn 60 - and I wish I had heard something like that and was able to internalize it yeeeeaaarrrs ago.
I'm stoked for this one! I love Seth Meyers
Seth's laugh seems very genuine. Jimmy Fallon's laugh seems to be fake and sycophantic. I think that's what I like best about Seth's show.
Seth and John Oliver were the funniest on Strike Force Five. ⚡
Seth's arm pose strikes again!
First time discovering this podcast. It is really great. Mike's ability to punch in some ribbing or comedy and only slightly derailing Seth is pitch perfect.
Letterman-Conan-Seth. Best in there generations

Seth, babes, what a pleasure seeing you here with Birbigs! ❤ A proud Jackal
P.S. great to see you stimming. As a fellow neurodivergent, I say let your stim flag fly, baaay-beeee!!!
Totally agree. ❤
What does “stimming” mean? I always see it and I’d rather ask someone who does it for real instead of Google.
Is it like when ppl needed a fidget spinner in 2015?
Thank you
@demitasse22 I think of it as anything that relieves the tension/energy I have in my body. It is short for self-stimulation, which is a misnomer because stimming is actually soothing and allows me to help regulate my body and brain so I can function in a world built for neurotypicals. Stimming can show up as lots of different behaviors, from full-body rocking or spinning, to sitting in an awkward postion that puts a pleasant pressure on my joints, to flapping my hands, fidgeting with a pen, or picking at my cuticles. It's part of my self-expression now that I don't mask my autism anymore 😊
I hope this helps and isn't too much information lol! I tend to say a lot more than people expect when I'm asked about a special interest of mine!
@@lb5368 that was unbelievably helpful! Thank you so much . I wish you the best
@demitasse22 aww, thanks! 🥰 you too
Hey Mike! You mentioned the cool names of drugs that you learned from the DARE program, so I thought I'd let you know (as a former teacher) that on the annual surveys of drug use they always make up some drugs / drug names so that they can weed out the kids who check "yes" to everything. E.g. "In the past month, have you used boomslang?"
🤯
"Boomslang's a helluva drug."
(sometimes shortened to b.s.)
Love how many times y'all talked about Tim Robinson 😂. I'd listen to a podcast where comedians just talk about Tim
Seth's accidental bit about his son's comment had me absolutely dying.
You both rock
truly awesome. thanks, guys.
😻😻😻😻😻 5/5
😹😹😹😹😹 5/5
(seth was doing a little "corrections" posturing at the beginning.)
42:00 Correction, Seth: Your second favorite country is The Netherlands, not Holland.
This is the first time I have ever heard of this Mike Brigabee podcast. I immediately subscribed. Number one Birbigs fan here. Obviously that’s probably not the case due to the fact that this is not the first episode and I am only just now seeing this. But I absolutely love Mike Brigglebobblyboo. Love love love. If you are Mike, thank you for being you. If you are not Mike, also thank you for being you, not Mike. There’s only one. Anyway. Have a good day. Thanks
Hey you have a great day too!
I still re-listen to Strike Force Five. It was the 2nd best thing to come out of the strike. Hearing Seth's kids screaming in the background while the others laughed about it, Fallon's disastrous wife quiz, and just all of them enjoying themselves so much and acting like little kids, was such a treat😂❤
Still can't believe Colbert "forgot" to tell Conan to call in. I mean they had Letterman & Jon Stewart! I would've liked Trevor Noah too.
so good! love this one
Another excellent episode and guest.
This is just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing my man.
@mike_birbiglia is such a delight to listen to, so easy-going that you wish he could be your friend too. He can be the guitar guy at my party and drink a Coke and Bacardi, any time.
So excited for this one!!
Love this so much.
Such great & funny guys!❤
I want more! Especially the joke writing so interesting to hear the process. ❤
Loved this.
That was really great. I got lost in it.
Seth is my favorite.
Seth is the funniest late night host.
Dear Mr Birbiglia, THANK YOU for
Don't Think Twice 😍, Good One... Bear Has a Story To Tell! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Your Comedy is a MASTER CLASS !!! (HEY Seth! 😁 Continued SUCCESS to you BOTH! ❤) ❤
such a pleasant interesting informative & amusing listen & great format for both Seth n Mike B ☆☆☆☆
Is there a Post-it behind Mike that reads 'Octopus and Sex'?! That needs to be explored.
I keep waiting for a Usual Suspects reference from the guest after studying that board.
Seth♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
30:10 Seth used that joke in Hartford a few weeks ago!
Too funny…
You are your dad Seth! Lol🤣🤣🤣
"Something Kenan has that we don't"
"Uh oh"
"He seems young"
"Ohhhhh I thought you were going to say something else okay yeah"
holy shit, mike birbiglia was the 7th guest?! I can finally stop trying to solve all these puzzles
I Loved This Podcast. With No Intro I Kept Restarting The Video Thinking I Missed Something. Also No Ads For Things I Don't Need? Sweet! This ACTUALLY Feels Like Cliche Of A Podcast, A Great Conversation Between Two Realy Interesting People! 👍 ❤
😂 Bad at drinking 🤣
Excellent job, love you both. Pitch idea, instead of Ex's for country song joke use puppies or dogs. "My school my son's teacher says he won't do the whole alphabet cause his puppy is missing". Wish you both the best and thanks for all you did and do
Arsonists are the kind of people who will just _tell you_ they left a note.
26:40 Carson was 60 in 1985 and Letterman was 38 ... you were just young and saw them as much older.. plus Carson was gray early..
Gene Wilder was the greatest yeller of all time.
Seth’s last special was really great.
Uh Oh 🤣
lol Seth definitely breaks out his corrections voice to pitch the new jokes
Glenngarry Glenn Ross for comedians: ABH "Always Be Hosting".
It's always F to B never to A!
I wish seth would host!
Great ice cream material and he does impressions now
Also mike should host already!!
Um Keenan is obviously taking over for Lorne.
I would argue Ferrell's yell actually takes inspiration from some foundational Brian Regan bits.
💜💜💜💜💜
What does Seth have against that pen? 😆
I’d be curious if other comics have that internal clock mechanism. Comedy is so much about timing, it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Seth is able to intuitively track duration without needing a watch.
Tim’s characters are neutered that’s a great way to put it honestly
So he's a eunuch 🤔
Seth calling LSD a "hard" drug was as adorable as it was inaccurate❤ 😂 Hard drugs are "The Wire," LSD is 16 y.o. ravers in Jencos @ TRAX D.C. '94.
Hey, I finally found someone with ears like mine! I cannot wear any brand of earbud/airpod. Is there a self-help group for us?
Seth, do a “day drinking” episode at Efteling featuring shrooms. Your show in Amsterdam was great - thanks for being cool when my wife and I ran into you outside Boom
Love these guys and really enjoyed this conversation. BTW, Fallon is the only one on strike force i did not think was funny. Never do.
bring back the videos of those politicians didn't think tump was a sound candidate 2016...
Seth says _earpods_ Ok boomer 😂 #corrections
funny
silly goose... everyone knows you change an F to a B
Legitimate question, what's the difference between helping someone improve a joke or knowing the joke isn't quite there and wanting to help find the punchline vs pitching a lateral joke?
Mike, are you missing a button on your shirt?
Gotta get Tim Robinson on here… PLEASE
This may be somewhere, but what is the significance of the notecards? I've stopped multiple times to just look at them. I did notice that there are at least two duplicates: "Outcomes of Sex" and "Brie Larson, in what universe?", which I assume are set ups for jokes?
They’re ideas for bits
Arsonists of course tell you the crime was the note.
I really like Seth, but the bent clip on his pen cap has me questioning everything.
F to A?? Everyone knows it’s F to B. C’mon Sethery!
“Great” grandparents?!?
Kenan😅
I’ve got that same nearly spot on sense of time, yet I’m nearly late for everything. That being said, I’m always enjoying something…. But I know I’m late, and by how many minutes or hours.
C’mon Seth…An ‘F’ is a natural ’B’.
Some of my best friends began as an enemy as a kid.
I thought the arsonist closer killed.
The Traveling Willburys were not all in their 30s. They formed in 1988. George Harrison was 45 (born in 1943). Bob Dylan was 47 (born in 1941), Jeff Lynne was 41 (born in 1947), and Roy Orbison was 52 (born in 1936). The only one in their 30s at the time was Tom Petty who was 38 (born in 1950). Please tell Neal Brennan to stop spreading memes that aren't accurate.
Great episode!
I absolutely loved pitching each other bits at the end.
By 2026 Seth will be back at SNL and Birbigs will be Kimmel’s successor 🔮
The exes one was super funny!
I cant believe adam mckay and will ferrell didnt like jim breuer
It’s pretty normal for intelligent people to be annoyed by idiots
Like how annoyed i am that that wasnt taken as the sarcastic comment it shouldve been
Am I the only that noticed that Mike missed a button on his shirt?😮
has someone got a timestamp for where they compare jimmy fallon to robin williams
czcams.com/video/iMyMq58FzQU/video.htmlsi=lfqAmp-2ohGGXliH&t=1399
Arsonists “claim” they left a note..?
Centrist purgatory.
