- (PART 2) Edited Reaction to STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON (2015). WOW!! I'm so happy you guys chose this one because I didn't know much about (if anything) about NWA before watching this movie. I was aware of their song Fuck the Police from Ice Cube and Dr. Dre interviews - but other than that, I didn't know what the group had accomplished, or the barriers they had broken. I feel the most fortunate that I got to learn more about Eazy-E! He left the world way too soon, but left a lasting legacy behind. Although I had a few technical difficulty, I hope you guys enjoy this one!

Great movie but Dre told a lot of lies here when he co-wrote the script:
1) Suge Knight could never have beaten Eazy like that. It would have started a war with the Crips which supported Eazy through and through. Suge never ever laid hands on him.
2) Dre wrote a diss track with snoop against Eazy called “Dre Day”. But Eazy got paid royalties from that song because of a contract clause that made Dre pay ruthless records for a time. Eazy wrote “Real Compton City G’s” specially for Dre which is considered on of the best diss tracks of all time - seems like it should have been in the movie….
3) The movie makes it out that the group split because of money, but a part of it was the Dee Barnes scandal. Dre beat up the tv interviewer Dee Barnes for no reason thinking she had commented on Ice Cube leaving the group. He also has a notorious history with beating up his wives and gfs. The group caught so much slack for it that they really weren’t going to survive as a group for long anyways. Eazy E once said about Dre “beating up a b*tch don’t make you s*it but some n*ggas think it makes a man.”
None of that was in the movie….
4) The second NWA album (made without Ice Cube) was directly almost completely by Dre and Mc Ren who wrote the lyrics. The first half of the album is superb NWA content, the second half involves songs about shooting and r*ping women and underage girls. They were written by Mc Ren but Dre encouraged it and directed it. None of that was in the movie…. (BTW Ren quickly changed his ways once leaving the group and renounced his old music and turned Muslim. He went on to write great music.)

Those first 2 solo Ice Cube albums are classics . Ice Cube destroyed NWA after that diss track . NWA never made another song after that . Dre , Cube and Eazy would eventually reconnect and discuss getting back together before Eazy died .
