Carla Bley & NDR Bigband: "La Leçon Française" | NDR

The American pianist and composer Carla Bley has written a small jazz opera about an English school class struggling with the challenges of the French language: "La Leçon Française". Together with the NDR Bigband, the New Boys Choir Hamburg and Steve Swallow, she celebrated her 80th birthday in June 2016 in the Rolf-Liebermann-Studio in Hamburg.

I attended a concert of the Carla Bley Big Band in Cologne, late 1980, early 1990th - it was spectacular.
