Never ford a river if you don’t know how deep it might be.
And if you did decide to cross it and it was too deep. Then you just asked for a full service of the drive train.
Worse your engine takes in water. It could result in a new engine.
A rule of thumb.
If the water is up over the height of the center of the wheel turn back, just like you did.

Just found your channel and I enjoy it a lot. I follow a lot of the us and german car camping girlies and someone in the scenic English countryside is quite a nice scenery. You have such a fun and bubbly personality. Quite entertaining.
Great Video - you have discovered at an early age what makes you happy and you are just getting on with it, good on you.
Smart move, turn back, if other people want to ruin their car let them. I had to go through as river bank behind me burst and one in front was emerging. I was stuck with other vehicles, drove through to get half a mile to destination, my engine stopped, exhaust pipe came half off, I thought it was achievable and it wasn't. Car came back on after 15 mins with a funny sound. I got to place but at a cost. Never go through a river. Not worth it, if your trapped you have no choice. If there is a choice you turn back like you did. Stay blessed and safe. I just came back myself off a car camp. Loved it. First one of this year. Solo female car camper

It seems that there, as well as here in North America, there is a preconception that people who live in their cars are homeless, that makes people suspicious. It’s sad because more and more people are choosing to live in cars for many more reasons than that, the price of buying or renting chief among them.
It seems perfectly normal to me. I’m building a small school bus into a little “tent” and plan to live in it during the summer as much as I can. There is great freedom on the road.

Hey El don't want to tell you how to suck eggs but when going through deep water 1: stay in first and keep your revs high 2:don't get to much speed as you will get a bow wake 3:never stop in the water and 4:go down the middle of the road where it is at the highest point.Looking forward to your first art video and stay safe out there.Also people are only allowed near stone henge when its first or last i cant remember day of summer solstice and you need permission,and yes it's definitely a rip-off.❤❤

For the nerds : a moving volume of water of Stitch’s length x width x 9 inches depth, weights already more than him therefore has enough force to move it.

Stonehenge looked beautiful, my husband and I were to stop there on our Disney cruise but we had to cancel the cruise due to his cancer surgery. So glad I could see it thru your video.

@@EleanorGraceDiaries Ellie, we would have been on the Disney Magic. We were so excited for that cruise and had all the excursions booked. We were so disappointed that we had to cancel everything. Unfortunately Jim passed away 6 months after the surgery. I still go to Disney World either solo or with friends which I’m comfortable with.
Jim had to go to London and to a small town Glemsford for work. He wasn’t going without me! We stayed in Long Melford so at least we were able to see some of England. I loved it.

Stitch would of got throught that fine 500mm wade depth for the Freelander 2.
Just gonin slow then pick up a little speed to create a bow wave.
That said if you are not sure better to turn around.

Oh wow you’ve been?! I’ve heard it’s a really amazing experience! I’d absolutely love to get close to them. I think they’re a bit stingey with the distance of those ropes during visiting hours though 😂💕
@@EleanorGraceDiaries Dont even get me started on the stuff they've done, its extreme & a disgrace to english heritage imo. I think charging to see it is an insult. I get they want to protect it, but its extreme. And yes, I've been and the stones give off amazing energy (if you can feel that) The vibe is unreal, singing, chanting, drum beats till sunrise is just awesome 💕
15:12 they ain't on the normal 'Main line' work anymore, think you probably ended up next to the heritage line, that's probably why they are in northern rail livery

English Heritage membership I believe is about £6 pm. Gets you in all of the venues and includes free parking at all sites 👀
National Trust is better value, a lot more properties. Join Scotland National Trust you get access to all NT properties in UK and it is cheaper.
Yeah I’ve been using national trust’s membership for years it’s one of the best investments I’ve made to do this stuff 😊

Hi Eleanor just a heads up in case this info would be useful for now or.in the future! So I run x 2 12volt 110Ah leisure batteries which = 220Ah and that enables me to run my 1000w air fryer from my 2000w inverter in my van which makes cooking very simple 😊 the set up may sound a little complicated but it’s really not

2 x leisure batteries
Obviously I charge the batteries via a solar panel just thought I would share this with you as all the little tips may help you out.😊

Never stop in the water in a fossil fuel car. You can normally go straight through if you keep your foot gently on the accelerator and don't go deeper than the air filter on the top of the engine. I have been through deeper than my bonnet in a 3 series and that was for 100s of metres. EV is awesome you can just drive straight through.

Stonehenge is amazing at summer solstice… I’ve been the last 4 years and stay on the campsite near there in my car camper! It’s also free to go to the stones and actually touch the stones in June (summer solstice)! ❤

Hi Ellie, oh I'm so curious about this 'tent' you've purchased :) I imagine it might be one that extends from your tailgate to give loads more space, seeing as you've been saying how cramped you've been getting in the back of Stitch lately....
Wise decision about the flooded road - if you're not 100% yourself, better to not try, but for reference the FL2 can wade as high as the waistline crease halfway up your doors, or below the air intake on your front left wing. BUT, unless you know that you have the drain valve still at the bottom of the big air filter box - it's liable to suck in water which is a big no no....
Nice to see that pile of historic stones... but £30????? I've driven past, that was enough to say I've seen them....lol
An observation from another user of those car shades - your side ones in the boot space seem to be the wrong way up? The tag goes at the top, so maybe you've got them on opposite sides in a rush perhaps?

I have to put the car shades like that because they’re meant to clip into the rubber of the windows but Stitch doesn’t have any it’s just plastic all the way around 😂 and over time they’ve bent and fall out if I don’t jam them in a different way round 🤣 And you’re right I’d never pay that amount again to see Stonehenge. I’m definitely parking next to them one night though for a camp haha. You’re spot on about the tent too. It’s a proper tent that comes from the tailgate 😄 thank you so much for your lovely message and really glad you enjoyed it ❤️😊
@@EleanorGraceDiaries my Car Shades have stayed put in the plastic surrounds ok but I never take them out either lol ;) Oooo I can't wait to see this tent now! Exciting upgrade for sure! As for wading - maybe one day you'll feel ok to do it - I've replaced my missing airbox valve and have every confidence in the vehicle, just not found the places to try it yet....

They say with Vanlife, you live out of your Van. Unless you live in Pommy land where it’s raining all the bloody time. An Aussie wouldn’t give a second glance to that beach you were at. I’ve only ever seen one beach like that. That was in North Queensland, way out in the middle of nowhere.
Did you know we have a Stonehenge in Western Australia google it. We have a full size complete replica of Stonehenge in a town called Esperance, about 700 km away from me. I have a funny story about a trip to Esperance, where I got attacked by bees while I was having a piss. Or have I told you about that already?
That tent on the back of your car will make a big difference although a quick overnight stop might be a bit too much of a hassle putting it up for just a short time. If you are staying a couple of days it should be okay.
I told you before to get a proper GPS. They are dirt cheap secondhand and naturally don’t require data.
That weather of yours never seems to improve. We have mid 20s all week but I believe we have some rain on Friday so all going well, I might take my van out for a camp in the rain. I need to find some more stealth parking spots for more return to full time Van life.
