    I have this one. It's really convenient and accurate I use it atleast 3-4 times a week, and have to take it to my doctor's appt with me. It's easy for her to record my previous reading.

    Well your suppose to sit for 5 minutes before testing, apply the cuff at same hight as heart. You should be able to get two figers between the cuff and your arm. Arm strait out feet flat on the floor. And no moving or talking during the test.

    I just bought this and i have high BP, it goes over 200 and its SO tight on my arm!

  • @earth7451
    @earth7451 Před 7 lety +28

    The reading will not be accurate if you are not sitting down with the feet on the floor and quiet during the reading . The cuff should be the same level of the heart.

      @RoyAndrews82 Před 3 lety +2

      Yup. 100% correct. That's probably why he got the elevated blood pressure reading. Nice.

  • @AprilMartinChartrandMS
    @AprilMartinChartrandMS Před 3 lety +6

    Also, you are supposed to be quiet at least 5 minutes prior to taking the pulse and sitting upright with the arm positioned around the heart level on a flat surface.

    The other videos were so confusing because I couldn't get the cuff on my arm properly. I have dysgraphia (pictures and left/right/up/down views switching around and bouncing around) which is similar to dyslexia (words and letters and sentences switching places and bouncing around.) Watching you go slowly while showing back and forth views as you put on the cuff really helped me. Thank you so much for such a detailed presentation. I couldn't get my device to work properly until I watched your video. You are fabulous!!!

    As others have noted, the cuff should be level with the heart. Some Omron models have a blue light that lights up when the cuff is in the correct position and red when your arm is not in the correct position.

    You're supposed to use your left arm when taking your blood pressure.

      Which arm does not matter, but it should be level with heart.

    • @23Fulani

      My doctor has checked both arms for accuracy. First they use the left and then depending on my situation they will check the right.

      @nancycox5940 Před 4 lety +1

      When you use the cuff on your right arm you have to position it differently in comparison to how you place it on your left arm. This is explained in the inclosed directions. That’s why it is not measuring correctly. I have two Omron series 3 BP monitors that I compare against each other, and both are spot on.

    Have bought an OMRON 3 series upper arm blood pressure monitor from Target recently. So far, haven't been able to get it to respond at all. Won't even show any "E1" or "E 1" message. Ugh. So frustrating. It will turn on, display a tiny arrow near the bottom, but won't respond at all. Has anyone been able to fix this?

    Helpful video I actually just bought this the other day and was wondering if u get different readings depending on how tight or loose the cuff is?? The directions just say "snug", any idea if it's better if cuff ends up a tad tight vs a tad loose? I get different readings depending on that factor each time it seems like.

  • @toddhamo4763
    @toddhamo4763 Před 4 lety +2

    And I'm taking it on my left arm, have it securely wrapped around my upper left arm, I'm sitting still, and it will still not respond at all. Very frustrating.

    Very helpful video. Was thinking of getting this to replace my old Omron. I prefer the preformed comfi cuff; do you know if it would fit this machine? It appears to have the same little blue connector.

      I'm not sure. There are even newer versions available at Walmart, Target and drug stores that you can try on before you buy.

    You didn't read the instructions, which meant you conducted the tests incorrectly. Ordinarily you're meant to use the left arm because firstly it is closer to the heart and secondly the tubing is less likely to get curled up or leant on. I urge people to read the instructions first.

    2022 bought at local , USA based Pharmacy, with discount = 42.00. This is a good tutorial, but I always have issues with HOW to wrap the cuff. I use my left arm, know tube goes toward hand, etc. But which direction to wrap the cuff band is the issue. I know it's ME, but I just got this and it can each direction and I've seen people do it differently and same. Sorry. I'll try more. Omron's Cust. Service site was useless with this issue.
