Nationwide if all police departments did more to be involved with their community the whole way of policing would change

@@shupathumedicineeagle1702 and cops can't do Jack without information from the community. And a community won't tell them anything if they don't trust them! Having a friendly chat with local businesses does a lot more than just shake hands. It allows the community to trust their local cops, it also has the effect of a visual police presence against crime which helps reduce opportunist criminals. Also when people feel comfortable chatting you learn a damn sight more from them than dragging people down to a station for questioning.

Too bad police department have to get federal dollars to engage in community policing. And community policing works best in the poor neighborhoods, instead of the business districts.

I’ll be honest I don’t have a positive image of the police but I have never had a good interaction with the police. I’ve had neutral interactions, not positive. I say this to say I’m 100% open with speaking with a police officer so we can help understand each other. Won’t 100% change my opinion but it’s a start

I remember the old days when police had foot beats. They were community police and they were loved by their communities. Then more and more police diristictions did away with them and the police became insular and detached from the community. The police need more pedestrian beat patrols and tailor those beats to the dynamics of a neighborhood.

My town got rid of our police department. All we have left is the elected sheriff. We don't need any community policing. If there is any criminal activity the county police care called in take care of the problem.

  • @painenvy67

This is a start in the right direction only. We need to rewrite the script on community law enforcement.
I believe it starts with Universal Basic Income. Then a separation of duties between law enforcement and social service. A new division needs to be created within HUD to force an end to homelessness now with the Universal Basic Income everyone should have funds to be independent. The emergency production act can be used to establish homes for homeless, medical facilities, and other treatment facilities. There can even be sub facilities created for law enforcement in these low-income communities. A Public Administration System and Independence Advocation System can be created to manage the Universal Basic Income for all these individuals to fund their housing, provide them meals, take care of medical bills, and more. The system can be streamlined and organized where all there needs are taken care of till the independence advocate states they believe along with the individual they have the funds, mental, physical, and job stability to stand on their two feet. They can then relocate themselves to a different community. They might even be able to find employment within the community to help sustain it. They perhaps could even create a legitimate business within. This could be a great opportunity for where small businesses could be created and thrive within the community. Any loose ends with shortages of funds can be taken care of with the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 till the initiative becomes self-supporting which with all the manpower and womanpower it will start to support.

Many police departments have done this on their own as far back as the 1990s without any federal program and are still doing it today. PDs don't need a federal program to do this type of community policing.

THE TRUST IS COLLAPSED....in other words, your company is no longer granting them any more credit.
If a policeman is not lawfully investigating the crime on behalf of the male/female victim and is entering YOUR company jurisdiction without you summonsing them, then would it not be advisable to be politely placing YOUR public-servants/trustees under your notification that your company is charging $707 per hour/part-there-of for YOUR company time and also $717 for YOUR company performance?....and that any further communicating (verbal) and/ or corresponding (written) with your company, is with them accepting the terms & conditions of the commercial contract IN THE PRIVATE (the cop MICKEY PETERSON and their chief CHRIS MAGNUS and their POLICE UNION is now with PERSONAL liability.... because Notice-to-Agent-is-Notice-to-Principal....and also through JOINDER)
This way, you are NOT resisting/refusing to obey/comply with their orders/demands/policy /questions, but instead, you are now willing to perform WITH THE CONDITION that payment is with your company immediately, because you have NO CONFIDENCE with them administrating YOUR company trust.
THE TRUST IS COLLAPSED...YOUR company is no longer issuing them any extra credit! Are YOU not the executor and the beneficiary of YOUR trust?...making them the trustees, whom are with their fiduciary obligation and duty-of-care to be NOT causing you injury nor damage nor loss nor harm.
Please remember that THEIR job is NOT YOUR job and that their company policy is NOT
your company policy unless and until they are PAYING for your company time & performance
THE TRUST IS COLLAPSED...YOUR company is no longer performing free-of-charge!
You may be willing to pursue the matter through the small-claims-court and/or through arbitration which is held in-the-private because PUBLIC court is only for the PUBLIC servant.
YOUR TRUST IS NOW WITH RESTORATION....YOUR company is now making money from every encounter with YOUR public-servants/trustees.

      Thank you for your reply.
Our apologies for the rather lengthy comment....but needed by way of clarification.
      An abridged version would read-
Why does your company give your time and performance for free?...Does your company have an aversion to making money from your trustees?....Are you not already paying them for their time and their performance?....Do you not live in the land of the free?....Free to unlimited contracting in-the-private?....or do you find yourself being more impoverished with each passing year?
