It's done by a simple algoritm. Hire libtards to watch CNN and extrapolate the agenda. Have said libtards curate hippy dippy playlists. Weave those playlists into recommended feeds. Simple algorithm.
Algorithms have an intrinsic bias, they need to be trained initially to understand what the 'right' solutions are. Google family algorithms in particular are trained by people who are ideologically possessed.
Now I got recommended both BLM advert and this pro-police video. Before, I only got recommended from one side, creating an echo chamber. It's a duty to see both sides of the coin, especially the ones I disagree with.
It‘s a different situation. looking and talking to people in their normal state of mind vs getting called to people in an aggressive or panicked state. I also react differently if its an car accident i am arriving to or if it is a domestic violence call.
Houston native here, likely good news. While I don't know specifically what this guy is up to today, I can say that our protests have been a lot more peaceful than many of the other major cities. George Floyd was a Houston native and his funeral was held here. When the protests started here (they were protesting as a part of his funeral), it did not turn hostile. Our mayor (Sylvester Turner) and H.P.D.'s chief (Art Acevedo) reached out and were amicable with the protesters. Houston didn't blow up like a lot of our other cities, so I would assume that Sgt. Wick is safe and sound. Can't verify, of course, but things were pretty tame here.
nothing that simplistic is ever right, there is a lot of corruption but im sure if you spent enough time looking in to it you would also find a lot of "bright stars" too
Actually, the corrupt are definitely the minority, its just that there are a shit load of law enforcement in america so even a small minority is too many.
All cops should be required to run that beat for at least a year before doing patrol. I think it would help to humanize them a little bit, instead of just training them for arrests and writing tickets. Cops need to be approachable mediators first and foremost.

That's the beauty that's really reflected in being a policeman. Someone who loves his job, who loves to enforce law and order and both senses. Close to the citizens, especially they knew his citizens. Thank you for giving an example like yours sir, it is heartwarming with the current atmosphere.
Mutual respect is the key. People forget the extreme range of qualifications and training we demand of our officers. Great program. Thank you for sharing. Godspeed.
When you hear cries to “defund the police” this is the action we are talking about. Taking funding from officers and putting it into social services to help people in need. He had to fight to create this program which is outside his wheelhouse. We want to create this in every city and town. If there was a good apple in the pile he is one of them, yes. But this isn’t his job and we can find people who specialize in this to help. Let’s move assets toward programs that help the citizens. More shelters, less tanks. Edit: he is a saint and if every cop cared about his community like this guy does we wouldn’t have protests. He in his current form is a model cop.
Wills Tanks I agree. Defunding the police doesn’t mean we need less of them. Let’s work on removing some of their budget, taking away their military equipment, and making community policing a standard.
@@benjaminpark5460 "Defunding" a program usually means getting rid of it. People see "defund the police" and think "abolish the police", especially since that is what some people are saying. Then you accuse people of misreading an ambiguous statement. That's called gaslighting and it's not okay.
This is alright, but there is a hell of lot more that goes into policing a city the size of Houston and after more than 40 years in law enforcement, this is just a small portion of what goes on in any department.
True, but by doing this where they can, the attitude of the community will change. Eventually, the goal is for everyone to see Police officers like this, and then they can safely go wherever they need to, and help the people that most need it.
this kind of policing should still be seen as an option. riding around on a bike wouldn't fit everywhere and neither would cruising around in armored vehicles
Its not always drugs and alcohol, or even mental illness. Sometimes its just people casting other people down, forcing them to be the lesser. Punishing people just for being people.

Community oriented policing doesn’t work for violent offenses , of which there are plenty . Let’s not forget this C.O.P is a very situational thing , which is why it’s success only reigns with homeless helping situations .

PickleMane True, but these individuals are truly doing “Gods” work. In the same way we don’t judge on skin color, we shouldn’t judge based on uniform. It’s a tough moral test I know, especially now.
@@GregoryCunningham it looked you were saying good officers are uncommon, yes police officers need some respect
PickleMane Domestic Violence is 2-4 (depending on study) times more likely to occur in Police Officers homes. They also have a much larger percentage of Sociopaths than the average population. So you had me correct the first time, most are not good people.
This is how the police should deal with homeless people, as a public servant, homeless are the public too. Compassion and empathy will change lives.
Depends who is asking for compassion and empathy.
Bravo. Keep up the good work. I hope this spreads to more departments.
"We are just tools," says the officer. And in a certain way we are all "tools" in our work. The problem is that we are tools in the hands of power and for power, and we should be tools of the people and for the people.
I've found if I were to ever want to beat somebody senseless that many tools do the job perfectly.
“It feels great to help someone”
I’m retired now but that statement the sergeant just made is why I went into law enforcement years ago.
And he’s right.
incredibly uplifting message and goal. I applaud you Steve Wick
Bless, to all the good cops out there, that really care and try to get to know the community they are policing. It is a great help for both the community and LE.
There's no way that they are not manually reccomending some videos such as this one
It's done by a simple algoritm.
Hire libtards to watch CNN and extrapolate the agenda.
Have said libtards curate hippy dippy playlists.
Weave those playlists into recommended feeds.
Simple algorithm.
@@John-fy7yf czcams.com/video/r0c1Bph1jrQ/video.html
Algorithms have an intrinsic bias, they need to be trained initially to understand what the 'right' solutions are. Google family algorithms in particular are trained by people who are ideologically possessed.
Now I got recommended both BLM advert and this pro-police video. Before, I only got recommended from one side, creating an echo chamber. It's a duty to see both sides of the coin, especially the ones I disagree with.
@@nicholasbyram296 The whole world is conspiring against you. Even on pro-police videos apparently? You might as well just give up 😂

We need more cops like this. This is how cops should be
@gabe ortiz Then maybe don't do this where the mob and cartel is prominent, and do it in areas where it's feasible? You dumb shit?
gabe ortiz so we should have the same enforcement in normal, relatively peaceful cities that we do in gang-ridden ones? are you ok?
@gabe ortiz so what? all drugs should be legal anyways
Why do we need cops for this work? How did having weapons help him do this work?
Did you even watch the video? he works with HOMELESS people only.. smh.
Wait a minute...he stopped and spoke to “those people” and he didn’t fear for his safety? Hmmmmm
It's almost like getting out of their car and talking to them reveals that they're just people like the rest of us.
It‘s a different situation. looking and talking to people in their normal state of mind vs getting called to people in an aggressive or panicked state. I also react differently if its an car accident i am arriving to or if it is a domestic violence call.
See, this is a much more believable version of Luke Skywalker.
Actually integrating yourself with the community, nice
this police officer is one in a million, hope he's doing good today even with this crazy ass riots...
I hope he resigned like the others don’t deserve to deal with this shit
I think bad cops are one in a million
@@arashparthian_112 He resigned at the beginning of 2019. Fantastic chap.
TheSuperMathemagicia lucky him
One bright star in a endless universe of corruption
Such a positive outlook lol
+Polonium Fist he's right though unfortunately.
nothing that simplistic is ever right, there is a lot of corruption but im sure if you spent enough time looking in to it you would also find a lot of "bright stars" too
Actually, the corrupt are definitely the minority, its just that there are a shit load of law enforcement in america so even a small minority is too many.
"I've got two friends in this world. I've got Mr. Wick and I've got my cat." That actually brought a tear to my eye ❤
I was already on the verge as I watched this video, and that line made the tears happen
We need more guardians and less warriors in our PD’s
More brain, less guns. This is what I call real police work. Respect!
Derp
More brains, same amount of guns. And you seem to have low standards for what real police work is.
Cops should be forced to watch this during their training
Do you think cops should carry guns
All cops should be required to run that beat for at least a year before doing patrol. I think it would help to humanize them a little bit, instead of just training them for arrests and writing tickets. Cops need to be approachable mediators first and foremost.
@@bigsmoke3821 yes but cops should also have constant training to deescalate and use it as a last resort

absolutely beautiful. Give people a hand up not a hand out and they will be grateful and help themselves. What a great example SGT Wick is. Relationships start with one conversation and a kind word
When we say "defund the police", this is the sort of thing we want the money moved to.
AOC said defund the police means DEFUND the police
@@dragomirstijovic5569 Yeah... you take the money and send it to other programs. How is this hard to understand?
It's easy to understand that plan, outcome? Not, luckily, I don't that will happen, because entire USA will become what NYC is now

nice to see people like this
This is normal in Europe. Police is here to protect and serve.
unless your in Germany and its to protect you against Muslims.
Because you live in a homogenous country full of white people...at least for now
Not much different than americans bombing other countries and fellow americans endorsing it.
Europe, the original America :)
that's cus you don't have to deal with subhumans, but you will in there future. what fun.
He is the embodiment of what Defund the Police is all about!! It's not about taking jobs from cops and more about placing them in better roles to serve the community. That and getting rid of all that military gear.
Keep it up Officer Wick, Texas needs more of you.
A cop walking a beat, imagine that.
Thank God for Office Mark Hamill
He looks like a mix between Matt Damon and Mark Hamill
He’s not a police officer, he’s a social worker in police uniform.
That’s a VERY good thing.
They better watch out. A few good apples might improve the bunch.
I would love to do this exact type of work . How do i get started ?
a background in social work and criminal justice would be a great start. Or something to aim for depending on your experience.
I would suggest working with your local outreach programs. They are always looking for volunteers!
Don't be black if you are in America. Now you are good to go!
T3n50r Well he probably already got shot by another cop when he undressed after work.
Good point. Didn't think of that one, haha.
this is great. i want the police to be our friends.
That's the beauty that's really reflected in being a policeman.
Someone who loves his job, who loves to enforce law and order and both senses.
Close to the citizens, especially they knew his citizens.
Thank you for giving an example like yours sir, it is heartwarming with the current atmosphere.
This is what policing in community SHOULD look like! God Bless this man! 🇨🇦🇨🇦👏❤️
Why don't they just arrest them all and lock them up? At least that would keep them off our nice streets.
This guy is awesome, and deserves a Texas "Hell ya". Kudos to him!
WoW! . . . . softly exhaling my airs of respect & recognition to this effort.
Mutual respect is the key. People forget the extreme range of qualifications and training we demand of our officers.
Great program.
Thank you for sharing. Godspeed.

We need this type of man leading unions and departments.
I loved him as Luke Skywalker and I love him as a Community Outreach Officer.
my eyes have been blessed. good on Officer Wick and Officer Giraldo for taking the initiative and helping so many people.
Thank you to the cops who care
You'll notice he still carries a firearm. Just in case.
This is what policing looks like...REAL policing...protecting and serving. This is a REAL Police Officer...a REAL HERO!!! Thank you so much.
What a wonderful and kind person. We need more people in the police department like him.
Then say this, instead of "defund the police".
4of92000 there need to be more good cops and less bad cops not just less cops
4of92000 it’s not my fault you aren’t listening to the arguments. Because people have talked about this hence how I know.
Has it worked so far? it doesn't look like has
@daniel holden shut the fuvk up you dog Whistler
Glad to see this. We need more programs like this nationwide. Homeless people deserve to get their lives back on track and not forgotten about.
This kind of policing only works in some areas of cities. In other areas he'd literally be putting his life at risk riding around on a bike.
Sad but true.
Its not always drugs and alcohol, or even mental illness. Sometimes its just people casting other people down, forcing them to be the lesser. Punishing people just for being people.
sounds like a good argument for eugenics
As a person who seems to experience people shitting on me for no reason A LOT, this is very true. I have had multiple people who I thought were good people and the best of friends fuck me over for a few dollars in a heartbeat, so many people are changed for the worse when they want to make easy cash, pretty much everybody I have tried to help start a business or whatever used me for my skills and tossed me off to the side when I wasn't needed anymore, they look like the expert and take most of the money, this is the reality in most cases sadly, the assholes use the nice people.
Bless you guys. You guys are doing kind caring work.
THIS is what police (or public safety) should be about. Police as guardians/protectors of the WHOLE community, not people looking to harass us.
Community oriented policing doesn’t work for violent offenses , of which there are plenty . Let’s not forget this C.O.P is a very situational thing , which is why it’s success only reigns with homeless helping situations .
I wonder why a video like this is showing up in my recommendations at a time like this 🧐

This kind of policing only works sometimes. It would not work in many situations. Not everyone is willing to chat with officer friendly. Some of the problems people have with police originate with the behavior of criminals.
The CZcams algorithm brings us together, again.
To have a respected member (the cop) of the community actually be willing to do the footwork, help you do the footwork, is powerful for someone's self esteem.
That's what a real cop does, he has empathy for those on the streets and knows who they are. That's the kind of policing we need all across the US.
