A friend of mine always told me - don’t buy things in Sales - things are in a Sale cos no one else wants them 😊Good advice that I always stick to! ❤️
Ooh I like that! Great advice 💜
Thank you for this video Nicola. I have been staying at home a lot more to avoid spending money ❤.
That’s a good strategy ☺️
I agree with everything said and would add that it’s good to be curious about why you want to spending - having a bad day or feeling bored I can end up window shopping - either online or in person. I have a little mantra I tell myself ‘I can love it and leave it’ it’s ok to appreciate pretty or trendy things but acknowledge they don’t suit my body, lifestyle or budget just now, and that’s ok. Owning the thing won’t change that, so I can appreciate it and leave it for someone else.
I like that mantra ☺️
When out getting the only necessary shopping a limited amount of cash goes with me & the bank card stays at home. Helps me keep away from the tempting middle isle of Lidl!! 😊
That middle isle is dangerous 🙈😂
I’m really loving these more frequent videos Nicola! 🥰
Thank you 😍
Yes more quick videos on various subjects, frugal living, budgeting, house renovations. Great to have you back on line and seeing you moving forward building a new life for you and your boys.
I use saving pots in my banking app instead of cash envelopes. I transfer the money out of the pot before I make the purchase.
Love this. I do something very similar.
Fair enough ☺️
Great tips. Glad you are back on the channel. Happy New Year
Happy new year to you too 🥳
Great advice in this video
Thank you ☺️
No to cash envelopes for me,too easy to borrow. Money in my bank works. I use one current account one saving account account which takes the place of the envelopes. Good video.
Fair enough - you need to do what works for you ☺️
Several shops and coffee shops in my town are now card only. Supermarkets are cutting back on cash tills too. Not good.
Great video, lots of great tips 🙂
We have linked accounts set up on our bank account for various savings and spending purposes, helps us to keep track of everything. I do use the cash envelope system for smaller savings goals as well as Christmas and birthday savings though.
I too say no to cash envelopes, I do use cash but what I do is transfer my grocery money and discretionary spending money into an account where you top the card up. For other things like my sinking funds I use another account which pays interest to store these amounts.
I must be one of the few people who pays no attention to adverts, so am rarely if ever tempted to buy something just it's there.
