Damn, Ranar was the first commander deck I played. Much respect
Just bought the KHM Ranar precon two days ago for my first magic night ever. Excited for a build like this after understanding the various mechanics of these cards
Foretelling a card for free and getting that extra spirit each turn feels sooo nice
He sees you when your sleeping, he knows when your awake because he is Ranar the ever-watchful so you better be good for goodness' sake! LOL :P
This is VERY CLEVER
I know there is not a bunch of foretell support and if you're blinking stuff everyone says just run Brago but this is one of the most fun Commander decks I own. Thanks for doing this I'm very interested to see what you got going on
I love this type of video. It looks like a fun deck. It would be fun to see your final deck with no budget restrictions.
I kinda do too, but I reaaaaaly appreciate this budget level!
Ranar needs all of the love.
Hell yeah, this is almost identical to my Ranar deck. Great minds, man
o7
On a budget you can run Retreat to Coralhelm, it combos with ruin ghost for infinite spirit tokens. While you're doing that, you could drop in Halo Fountain for an alt win con
I think Ranar is very underrated, I recently got around to finally putting mine together a few months back, I didn't think it would be as good as Lathril or some of the other decks I wanted to focus on more but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. My build is about 90% same but I like the interesting little techs put in there, nice job 👍
My ranar deck kinda looks like this! It's really cool to get a token when you remove a threat
Absolutely loved this content - more please!!! :)
Love to hear it! Thanks for watching.
2022 and still no decklist in the description...
I will forward this and make sure we get this updated.

@@JakeandJoelareMagic Thanks for the list!!
Gnome Terramancer was the other “dwarf” card you were struggling to remember
Any value in throwing a Cyclonic Rift in here to clear the board for our ghouly boys to win the game?
Its in there. I dont run it all the time for power level reasons
Saltskitter is my favorite ranar card. Just keep making spirits on everyone’s turn.
Bottled Cloister gets some nice utility with Ranar
Bought it today
Huge thanks for the tips
That chonky giant is going out
Question tho, should I run more foretell?
Absolutely great video. Great call on the eldrazi displacer. I would disagree on taking one lane with this deck. I think riding the line here is really strong. While yes, you are losing some min/max removal, those spirits add up when you start to foretell.
Thanks for your thoughts here Zack!
@@JakeandJoelareMagic thank you for listening to me rant🥰
Bought the Millicent deck but kind of like this deck a little more
These videos are cool. Was $250 the budget limit?
Week one starts at $100, and goes up each week of the month by $50. So Week 4 is $250. Some special months, the budgets are doubled though.
What do you guys use to play these decks?
this is so strange, I'm looking at the person below him and assuming it is that person Joel is talking to but his mouth isn't moving at all lol. but of course it's not him.
Honestly, man, since Farewell was printed, it hurts my eyes to see Austere command in decks, Farewell EXILES everything you want, you get TONS of spirits with that card. Farewell is THE board wipe for Ranar decks.
Farewell is such a great card.
Farewell just didn't make the budget but it's in my typical list. FYI you only get one spirit due to ranar's wording.
Austere command is better in the builds with spirit focus because you can get kill all the fatties and swing out with your small flyers.
@@Bstone410 that is true, you can kill all the big creatures and leave your small fliers, but...
@@Spctr380 that kinda sucks, would be way better if you got a spirit for each thing.
This deck is similar to my elminster deck i build recently .....
Isn't Ranar errata'd? I thought his ability worked different
GGS
Ranar Based commander, he sucks but he basin' AF
Does specter have a twitch?
I do not sadly. Working on stuff for 2024 tho :D

You should play Candlekeep Sage
Typically you aren't blinking ranar as it's better value to target other things on your board
@@Spctr380 blinking ranar would be like blinking a mulldrifter...
