    Thank you so much for continuing to make these videos. Can't tell you how much I've learned in the years of referencing them, and how much money I've saved by figuring out how to repair bikes myself. Not to mention how much money you guys have made off of me ordering parts all the time lol

    When replacing the piston, do i have to tear it down like this or can i leave the valve rocker arms on when taking the top off.

    Good afternoon Charles, important couple questions for you if you can spare a moment of your time:
    1. Is that motor out of a Rockstar Edition FC450 or standard FC450? My 2020.5 FC450RE has a bushing in the small end of the CONROD & standard ones have a DLC wrist pin according to the manual...can a person use the piston kit for the standard model on the RE?
    2. If it is indeed a RE engine, what part# piston kit did you use? The stock compression ratio is 12.75:1 but all I can find anywhere are 12.6:1, 13.5:1 or 14:1...
    Thank you for the awesome, concise & easy to follow how-to's!

    Leak down test. How many actually have to put new rings in at 50 hours? Is that a compression release on the cam gear?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 2 lety

      It all depends how the bike was maintained and ridden. Ideally you want less than 10% leak-down, a top running bike would be 5% or less. If you're at 15-18% then it's rebuild time for sure as long as the valve lash is adjusted correctly. Don't forget to listen to where you are getting the leakage. ...Yes, it has an auto decompressor. -Charles

    Great video. I love your engine rebuild vids.
    13 hours? Are you doing a teardown just for video purposes?
    Maybe i should watch the other episodes and then ask questions:)

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 2 lety +1

      Haha. We added our sixth gear kit that should be available shortly. We just wanted to jump on the opportunity to show the rebuild process. The top end interval is somewhere around 50 hours, you can always check compression periodically to know when things are wearing out. -Charles
