Happy gaming! Glen
I typically don't like any sort of time pressure in my games, but this sounds intriguing.
Please be good, please be good, please be goooood! 🙏
It's good haha. Mark
@@SwitchUpYt haha. Im glad it's good. A bit of performance issue but it's not major. Hope they fix that soon.
😔
@@Ser-Smileyin regards to the performance issues, what else is new!
I’m intrigued. I’ll check it out for sure. Thanks for the vid.
Another great review, I'll keep an eye on this dropping in price. I'm just really glad someone's released a time-based game that's not a roguelike for once.
Heads up! The game is currently on sale (at least in the U.S, check your regional E Shop) for 20% of until May 22nd, bringing it down from $25 to $20. Cheers! 🍻
This game's time rewind mechanic is very much like the Flash game Chronotron (which I played at Coolmath Games) but with hack-and-slash action gameplay. Incredibly creative and fascinating.
The footage reminds me of Hades, let’s see if it holds up! Cheers for the review guys
It doesn't hold a candle to Hades
It's like Super Time Force. That game had a similar cloned companion mechanic, only based on deaths not time.
I was going to write the same thing, I loved that mechanic. Here’s hoping they pulled it off here!
huh, looks like a pretty cool action based version of the crack in time time puzzle levels. Neat.
I seriously *live* for the dad puns you guys use at the beginning of your reviews, in which you use references to the game's title/mechanics when questioning whether the game will be good or bad. "Is it worth your time? Or will you end up wishing you could rewind time to before you played it?" Solid gold! :)
Hadn’t heard of this and looks interesting- thanks for adding another to my backlog (actually I think i will be good and wait and see if it goes on sale at some point)
This looks great, with a very interesting mechanic. Thanks for the review!
You're welcome
Definitely interested in this one. It has two of the game mechanics I like a lot in games: time manipulation and _not_ being a roguelike. Make no mistake, roguelikes are fine, I've just grown sick of every other game being one these days. Though I see a lot of complaints about it being too repetitive, so I might wait for a sale.
I’ll put this on my wish list for a sale. It does look good. Thanks guys. Do you plan on looking at Soundfall? Looks bit like Hi Fi Rush. Just wondering how it runs on switch.
This is not my usually sort of game, but I admit I’m intrigued!!!
In the end of the day, I was scared it would be repetitive and as you mentioned it, this seems to be a game that could’ve benefit from some other gameplay styles implemented in between combat, like some platforming, puzzles and extra abilities.
Thanks for the review guys!
My full attention has been given to animal well, I don’t hVe time for any other games right now 🤣
Haha it's very good eh? Mark
Actually really like the look of this one. Not quite enough for an immediate purchase, though. It's going on the pre-backlog backlog. 😅
Great review. You explained this well, I yawned at the idea of time loop, but you quickly explained it very well to make it sound intriguing as a combat and puzzle solving mechanic.
Labyrinth-like = Labyrinthian. That's not me criticizing your English, because clearly Labyrinth-like is perfectly legitimate English, but I thought you might like to know there is a dedicated word to describe it.
Reminds me of a free browser game I played years ago called Cursor*10. Short but sweet that one. This looks pretty intriguing!
looks intriguing other than being like a free browser game right?
Ooh another to add to the backlog?
What an interesting concept
Interesting mechanic!
The time mechanic here feels like the opposite of Unsighted, where its actually used to power you up, instead of in that game where it's literally the time before youdie. Very interested, and surprised how well it looks, tho i still opted for the PC version this time, as it looked very similar to another topdown hack&slash 'Raji Ancient Epic', and that game faired abit worse on switch compared to PC/PS4/5. I will however definitely buy it physically on switch if it ever get's a physical release. Just love its style
That looks really promising
Whoa this is different like you can plan stuff out pretty well
Great review! It looks cool but I am still on the fence. I wish there was a demo.
From the looks of it, this game looks like it runs at 30fps instead of 60fps. Obviously, 60fps would have been better with faster response times in terms of controlling the game. So I'm once again wondering (like I have with most Switch releases lately) if this game (a game I want to play) will be better when playing it on a system that can run it at a smooth & steady 60fps?
The Remnant mechanic is intriguing and seemingly quite unique. This could really do with a demo as how complex this feature is could make or break players and has me hesitant. However I am certainly interested and glad to have added it to my wishlist after watching this review. Cheers SwitchUp, see you in the next video.
Side note: To those who enjoy isometric hack and slash games, I can highly recommend Darksiders: Genesis; great combat, varing puzzles, fluid traversal and no overwhelming loot system like Diablo.
Switchup Forever !
Just Wondering why don't you have a category for Story. I feel like that a very important aspect that players care about
Story and gameplay are combined:). Mark
This game looks great. I need to go back to finish Prince of Persia and then I'll pick this up.
Currently playing Balatro
Great game eh? Mark
Man speed runners and minimalist runs might go for this type of game based on the mechanics
Cool concept. However when it comes to beating enemies at the same time and having to wait for my clone to show up to attack waiting around in games like this is most often not a good fit. Hopefully the enemies are placed that you would arrive at the next one that has to be eliminated at the same time at around the same time.
It sounds more itneresting than i expected but I think that you are right to say it is a sale game
I’m definitely getting this, but for 8-10 hours I’ll probably wait for a sale.
A Hades Groundhog's Day you say 🤔
Really pretty game... looks like it would work well on the 3DS
I wonder if "Super Switch" (much nicer than "Switch 2" c'mon, we're not Sony) will resurrect the optional 3D feature?
The gimmick sounds similar to the Blinx Time Sweeper games on the original Xbox. Shame those didn't get a re-release.
I don't know those I must say. I never had an original XBox though. Glen
@SwitchUpYt They were quite revolutionary for a console game at the time. They used the xboxs hard drive to enable the pause/record/rewind/fast forward on the fly feature. A really good couple of 3d platformers. The epitome of hidden gems. Dusted under the carpet at the time because of bigger releases around the time. Weird considering they were Microsoft made games if I remember correctly. Worth a look.
Blinx was excellent! Still got my copy
@Nextinline99 Yeah they really are. Talk about forgotton. Wish I could play those again without hunting down an xbox.
@@blacksunshine7485 Blinx appears to be playable on Xbox one/series x. It's on game pass at the moment too (just checked)
So basically Blades of Time
It looks amazing and the time mechanics are very clever, maybe even too clever for a lazy old gamer like me 😅 great review anyway!
Thanks mate! Glen
Hoodies? What about OLED skin with your logo?? 🤘
Oh that would be way better. Mark
This looks like it has some really cool, innovative ideas. I'm tempted, but not a huge fan of games with time limits in general so will probably give it a pass for now. Still, appreciate the review. I may circle back around if/when the game sees a sale.
Its like if a Gerudo started worshipping Hylia.
it's downloading now. 75% matches another reviewer I trust who gave it a 7.5 outta 10.
a game doesn't need to score 80% (or 8.0) to be fun. now a AAA
$60 game that gets 75% may be a different story.
By the way "li sfanga" sounds so funny in Italian haha so ridiculously badass... "fango" is mud so it would translate into something like "she knocks em over into a pool of mud"? I dunno something like that haha I mean the title alone is already worth the purchase let's be honest! No physical edition tho so it's a no buy for me.
Haha, that's a very cool name to have. Glen
I'd really like to see a review for *Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board!*
nothing like buying a game and then looking for a review to confirm your choice.
I know this is entirely a me problem because this game looks really good, but I just am so not patient with puzzle games now-a-days. Just struggle to enjoy them now-a-days which is such a shame because this game really does look like a ton of fun. I'm just not sure it's going to be a ton of fun for me
Cant decide if this looks fun or stressful haha.
It's definitely fun....but it is quite stressful! Haha. Glen
Hi, I am just here looking for other fat gamers. Like if you are fat too!
Hmmm It's a cool concept but I think nothing for me
I’m gonna guess 78%.
75% feels a bit generous.
Why mate? Mark
@@SwitchUpYt the repeative gameplay and being a little long of a game does a lot more damage to it then it should.
Interesting mechanic but sounds repetitive.
By its very nature, hack ‘n’ slash, it’s repetitive. Wasn’t there a game recently were you cloned your self?
Seems interesting, but I like to take my time when I play this type of games now, so it's a pass for me.
Nah not for me.. The time mechanic sounds annoying.
Doesn't look like you'd have a good time with the game.
Too much effort to pronounce correctly, I’m just going to call her Lasangna.
I bloody love lasagne
@@SwitchUpYt it’s the best. I would play a lasagna based game, maybe a metroidvania or souls-like where the hero is an anthropomorphic noodle kicking all sorts of demon arse.
Took me 3 tries to spell anthropomorphic, please laugh.
I loved Transistor, but this game looks like it's one of those "diverse message" types of games. No from me, sorry.
I have to know what that means.
😂
