This is a very common misconception, the stopping difference is never “that” much different between oem and bbk upgrades. Main benefit is the heat dissipation!! That’s why almost every track driver upgrades theirs.
Few questions: 1. Why did you choose only to do the front calipers? (Yes, I know 80% of stopping is front wheels, but why not do the rear as well? - Then there's also the parking brake concern.) 2. Is there a need to upgrade the master cylinder & reservoir? 3. Did you code the computer for the new rotors? If not, why? For those who want to do this upgrade: Make sure you have 18" wheels or larger. 17" is questionable and 16" won't fit this size rotor-caliper combination.

the size of the piston inside the caliper makes a difference is braking force. bigger caliper, bigger piston, bigger pads and bigger rotors equal more surface area being pressed on by the pad. this equals better stopping power
Note for anyone doing this: The front’s are an easy plug and play, but the rears will not fit unless you get the 335 ebrake setup. I repeat, THE REAR CARRIER from a 335 will not fit to a 328
I noticed you didn’t put the retaining clip back on the caliper, are you noticing any chatter or anything while driving without them? It is a cleaner look and I’d like to do so as well as long as there’s no issues
the 335i pads are much wider and longer, the rotors are also hugely wider. the piston on the caliper itself is also much larger meaning the surface area of pad that is pressed against the rotor is larger. the difference in braking is day and night, especially with the stainless steel lines.

Have you had any experience with an acura zdx? I was initially looking at bmw e92 but the ZDX presented itself to me.. im still in love with how the e92 looks but the acura is definitely the smarter long term move.
full retrofit was about $500 for calipers, paint, rotors, pads, stainless steel brake lines, and fluids etc. braking power is WAY better. bits hard and smooth

Did you get this done or it’s already good enough without? Also, can the old 328i caliper bracket be reused? Or I need to buy a new one?
@@IzzyE9X I’ve seen threads online that says the rear calipers are a direct bolt on for the 330i, E91, E93, and all AWD models since they use the larger rear parking brake setup meaning you won’t have to convert the horseshoes and parking brake issues
eBay used for about $100, cost about $30-50 to restore them (sanding, prepping, painting. all in all about $150. one of the BEST upgrades I’ve done hands down

It's not about the size of the caliper. What matters is the swept area of the total pad surfaces.

The pads are about the same size. I dont see this doing anything but adding weight.

Is the caliper bracket interchangeable? Did you pull the caliper bracket off the 328 brake caliper and put it onto the 335 brake caliper?

from what ive read fronts are plug an play, the same. but rear ones depends if you got AWD or RWD. AWD is different for rear.
the rear require you to do some more work because 335 parking brake is differently routed. only the front is plug and play

the rear brakes are bigger/better on the 335i, but they rear brake swaps is more intensive due to the parking brake

I only did the front because doing the rear requires you to mess with the parking brake cable, etc.

Yeah upgrading the stopping power of a car is a waste of money.
I’ve never felt more safe in my BMW than after I did this upgrade. It allows you to push your car to its limit while not dying. Worth every cent 💯
