#firsttimewatching #reaction #apocalypto - Zábava
Almost nobody reacts to this movie! It's so overlooked and underrated. Absolutely amazing film. I'm so excited to watch this reaction.
Agreed! Another overlooked and underrated movie is _The Mission_ (1986) starring: Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, and Liam Neeson. It’s probably the same time period where “eighteenth-century Spanish Jesuits try to protect a remote South American tribe in danger of falling under the rule of pro-slavery Portugal.”
It's an amazing film. But, there are over 200k reacts to it on CZcams
Only underrated by reactors. They tend to only watch a small subset of the films out there.
One of my personal favorites.
I still watch the blu-ray on a regular basis.
It is a Mayan language from the culture of Mexico more than 500 years ago.
Thank you Mel Gibson for such a wonderful movie!!
It really is!
I love this movie. The language spoken is Yucatec Mayan. They are the biggest tribe in Mexico. I am native. I am Plains Cree and Ojibwe. I am from the biggest tribes in Canada.
I know a friend who played in this movie. He was the ball eater at the beginning. That's how he introduces himself to people. "Hi I played in apocalypto and I'm the one that ate the balls." The native world is small.
A bunch native people from all over north America played in Apocalypto that 16 people from my tribe(Ojibwe) played in the movie. Mel Gibson wanted it to look, sound and feel authentic that they built a Mayan city for the movie. Apocalypto set the Bar when it comes to native movies. If you go native. Make sure everything is native. The production, designers, actors, language coaches and make up artists. He did the whole sha bang. This movie is effing spectacular. I just wish there was more movies like this.
The BALLS it took to produce and direct this EPIC cannot be understated and puts Mel Gibson among the top 5 best directors working today…
Two tapir balls to be precise. 🤣
The balls to make The Passion of the Christ!
When this came out in the theaters me and my brother just randomly picked it to watch as we were in line for tickets so we knew nothing about it at all and it became one of my favorite movies ever.
C ouple facts: The language spoken in the movie is a Mayan language. The animal at the beginning is a tapir. (yes, they taste good.) Using ant heads for sutures is a true thing. A native friend of mine from Panama told me about it.
WOW!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Here in malay peninsular, we got tapir too and they're black and white colors. We didn't eat them but only aborigine eat them. You can find tapir's sign on Road saying tapir is crossing there.
I ate tapir with the indigenous people in the Amazon when I was growing up.@@boboboy8189
I love the profecy in the movie, Jaguar Paw, the jaguar man in the profecy, leads them to the end of their world, the Spaniards arriving in the Americas.
Thanks good they arrive
try again @@8881raul
@@8881raul Yeah they only killed 98% of the population of the Americas.
That ending gets me everytime! Genius.
This movie has been in my top 10 since it released. Incredible movie.
Gibson may be a bit...off. But he should have won Best Director Oscar for this film. It's a phenomenal piece of work, and one no studio would have ever greenlighted.
The ending always blows my mind , when the Conquistador Spanish arrived in the New world ! 😧🇺🇸🇲🇽🇮🇹
The little "prophecy" girl.... Wow. That was acting!!!
As a fun fact about the movie, for the chase with the panther, the panther was real and the actors actually ran in front of it .
I always want to recommend this movie for people to react to, it is amazing and brutal.
I think this is the best film that Gibson directed.
27:35 yes the ones on top of the pyramid understood how an eclipse works. They could also predict when it would happen. They do the sacrifices to convince the people on the ground that the rulers are favored by the gods and will save their crops. Otherwise the people will overthrow them.
Here's a fun little fact about the jaguar scene, The look of terror on Rudy Youngblood's face was 100% real. That black panther actually chased him.
Love this movie. It’s about my people. I’m from El Salvador.
42:21 Actually those were the exact type of tribes that teamed up with the Spanish to defeat the aztec empire.
Did u notice who directed the movie. He did a great job on this one.
Watched it late one night while suffering from one of my bouts of insomnia, absolutely glued to it for 2 hours , then i had the best 5 minutes sleep of my life 😢
Finally. Somebody's react to this movie. My watching is gonna be legendary
Mel’s seriously underrated as a director
Mel is better than Ridley Scott💯
Its in my top 5 films of all time... thanks for posting Emma.
I love this movie!! I remember being traumatized after watching this😭
У вас такое мягкое сердце, вот бы все люди были такими, мир был бы прекрасен!
one of my all time favorites
It is a Mayan language from the culture of Mexico more than 500 years ago.
Mel Gibson shows why he’s an auteur filmmaker
Such a masterpiece movie and underrated 💔
One of my favorite movies of all time. If you have the DVD, watch the commentary Mel Gibson and the producer of the movie. You will learn so much about the actors and making of the film.
this movie is so brutal...
Can you imagine, that those Mesoamerican people, like Aztecs or Mayans cooked ritual dishes from sacrifice's limbs.
OMG!!! I didn't know!
As a semi-fat guy that easily floats in water, especially when my lungs are full of air, I've never really felt the panic in movies when a well-like structure (like in this movie) starts filling up with water. On the contrary, I see that as an absolute win since I'll just be lifted up to the top by the water and be able to get out. o.O
This was one of the first movies that I remember seeing as a child and I was hooked into it. We were not really well off when I was a child and no tv as such but when we did buy a good enough tv the first movie was this.
My wife and I used to take turns picking the movie we would go see. One time she picked the movie "Down with Love." (Great movie too btw.) I was the only male in the theater. My revenge was swift and sweet. Apocalypto. My wife was the only woman in the place.
Sweet 😂
I watched the eclipse totality on the 14th of October last month. I got real sick just two days later ;-( Careful how you honor the gods. The black leopard mother was my favorite character. The forest Mayans weren't conquered until 1697. A couple of years ago, made friends with a young man, his mother was Mayan.
Los mayas nativos de lo que ahora es la Selva de Chiapas prefirieron sacrificarse y aventarse de lo que ahora se llama el "Cañón del sumidero" prefirieron la muerte antes que ser conquistados
Thank you for showing the best scene. The old man trekking the story. Believe it or not most people edit this scene, which reduces the words in the movie by half. And this is the whole movie in one metaphor
Um dos melhores filmes dirigidos por Mel Gibson, dois filmes que não enjoou de assistir esse filme e coração valente a história da Escócia de William Walace tremendo filme São Paulo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
The background scenes and people are very real and rich with views of Mayan life. Example: the guys colired white are workers or slaves making lime from burning limestone. This was used to whitewash the buildings. It probably help deforest the areas for wood to make the lime.
Iirc it was also an agricultural adjunct?
My BIL likes to download lesser known movies onto his playstation, this was one of them, and we all watched it togetther as a family activiity.
This is such a excellent movie a great one to react too!
Mexico had a bunch of crazy ancient civilizations
27:28 good catch. Of course they knew astrology and were versed with the movement of the stars and the sun.
Excellent movie..😊 Indigenous South American's historical accounts,before 1492.
THE BEAUTY OF THIS MOVIE IS THAT THEY ARE SPEAKING NAHUATL, THE LANGUAGE USED BY THE AZTECS AND MAYAS. I'M LEARNING THAT LANGUAGE TO HONOUR THE NATIVES OF MY COUNTRY EL SALVADOR.
beware ...... history repeats its self .
Mel Gibson é um gênio.
the passion of the christ another mel gibson directed movie
Классный формат показа) Удачи👍Гибсон - легенда)
great reaction Emma i knew you would like this movie
So violent, but a good setup for an incredible chase for the second half.
Crazy part this actually really was happening in Mesoamérica
This movie is based upon a book called "The Most Dangerous Game". If you are interested in another movie based upon the same book take a look at a 60's movie called "The Naked Prey" it is equally good.
This movie is legendary 🔥 and whats crazy alll that happen foreal before the Spanish conquer the Aztecs .
Great reaction!
Glad you enjoyed
This was powerful !!!!
Masterpiece.
Viva Cristo Rey! Viva Espana!
For me,Apocalipto is a great masterpiece.
Thank you for such a great reaction!!
in my top5 all time favorite movies. i just love this
A creative mix-up of tribes and centuries, but true to Native life. Primitive man as he was. In the US we watched public executions 120 years ago. But we didn't wear green or blue paint. An acquaintance grew up in the Black Forest in Germany. The men taught him as a boy, why a wild boar is to be feared!
Mi top 3 peliculas de Mel Gibson:
1. La Pasión de Cristo
2. Apocalipto
3. Braveheart
está loco
@@krispinpvp9714 Todos lo estamos
the real danger showed up in the end
Emma you are precious. I'm proud of you for making it through this one.
Those ' new poeples ' at the end were european clolonozers
Awesome! Having seen Braveheart by same director, and possibly Gladiator(?), I highly recommend Last of the Mohicans! 🎉 and Lord of the Rings trilogy!
mel gibsons movies are amazing and i wonder if passion of the christ 2 will again break all the records once it comes out
Yeah, what’s the deal on that sequel? . . . Is that legit, or just a crazy rumor? 😳
Has anyone reacted to Passion of the Christ yet or is it blacklisted because they won’t want to offend an audience member with their face?
I haven’t come across any Reactors brave enough to watch it live for the first or second time.
@@cameronblack3202 It's legit, currently in production and scheduled for 2025. And they call it Resurrection: Part 1. So they are planning for at least 2 movies.
It's legit. It's called The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection. Date of production is January 2024
@@Riddler0603 Very interesting. Thanks. 🤔
This movie was filmed in the state where I live and my brother was in that movie.
🤩 wow it’s so cool!!!😎
Sure one of the best movies ever made. Great story, the acting is so good that it really feels like real. The little girl who is predicting the future and the end of their world as they know it. The last scenes when the Spanish ships arrives to the "new world".
Filmed in Veracruz mexico
lets GO EMMA... my fav movie

They weren’t though.
I recommend you to watch Apocalypto Behind the Scenes.
Excellent Movie
The sailing ships are from Imperial Spain, and they are bringing hell with them, including the smallpox.
Omg!!!!😦 thanks for sharing!!!
Buena reacción amiga saludos
You need to watch the Mission, with Robert De Niro. It’s a movie that actually can be interpreted as picking up right after this movie.
Yes The mission is a great movie, crazy scene when De Niro's character is forgiven of his past cruelty !
Thank you for this awesome movie reaction,THANK YOU
No problem 😊
Beautiful movie 👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Exelente película 🎥
The moment they see the ships, 41:32 And they didn't know that that meant the end for almost all the people who lived there.
Great reaction.
i ranked this movie on the most memorable movie of all time in my list
Remember the little girls prophecy. It will become dark, the man who brings the black one black panther
Grazie Mille Emma
