Both such masters - Mancini's intimate performance of "Two for the Road", Johnny's outstanding and heartfelt "Moon River" and more. Worth repeating - makers of beautiful music together - and so obvious is their appreciation of and friendship for each other. Please enjoy and may music always fill your soul.

A wonderful evening with two magnificent stars complementing each other.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Johnny Mathis with Mancini in concert. It was in the mid-seventies, I was in my twenties. A beautiful summer night at Knob Hill Concert Hall near Detroit, with addition outdoor area for on ground seating. I sat under the pavilion. It was a romantic dream seeing Johnny in his tuxedo. His voice so close to my senses I could almost believe he was singing to me alone.
Now I am older, and alone in life with memories and daydreaming of our youth, and of an evening with Johnny singing and dancing with me.
What a great way to start the New Year Thank you for sharing this beaufiful music with the best voice ever. Thanks for making my New Year bright. May we have many more years of that fantastic voice to come.

In December of 1986, Johnny traveled to London on a strictly promotional trip, for his album THE HOLLYWOOD MUSICALS. While there, John and Henry Mancini guested on the "Richard Clayderman Concert, which was recorded for television. They also performed for the charity concert "A Christmas Night of One Hundred Stars." A British newspaper wrote: "Johnny Mathis was the highspot of the evening. Perhaps it should have been called 'A Christmas Night of One Star and 99 Supporting Acts.'" (smile)
That is how I have seen music all my life. Mr. Mathis and a few others once in a while.

@jmsgirlger1 - you know.... i had more to this video- but i had trouble with it- you may not hear it- but to my ear the sound is a bit off- and in the first one i created a row of "women' got up and clapped..... I thought then-- this is The Connection!- for whatever reason- and i worked on it a very long time- I could not get it to sync up- . So- i'm very happy to have this piece to share. I wish I could get through to Mr. Mathis. I have been told by many I sound so much like him, my whole life's dream has been to get validation from the master Mr Mathis himself. I would give anything to have an evening with him and find out what HE would think if I truly indeed sound very much like him. At seminary the liturgist told me I sound too theatrical and hated my voice. He wanted the more sterile sound of church singing. anyway I would love validation from Mr Mathis if he ever did hear me and liked it and said I do sound like him. there is nothing else in the music world I should ever want.
