- In this video I install a new Passenger side Mirror. This was incredibly easy to upgrade and can be done in no time. Patients may be needed when drilling in the sheet metal of the door as you only get one chance.
Mirror: OEM style, chrome amzn.to/3PyWZV7
The car is a 1966 Mustang Coupe with a factory V8 and 4 speed transmission.
Shot with GoPro Hero 5, edited on Davinci Resolve 16.

For the benefit of everybody watching, anytime you are drilling through paint, you should heat it first with a hair dryer or heat gun. Get it nice and warm; this makes the paint more pliable and less likely to chip when drilling through.
Also, cut off a short length of 1/4" rubber tubing (fuel line, vacuum tubing, whatever) and put your drill bit through that, and then drill. It will act like a rubber pad so your drill doesn't hit the car after your drill bit goes through.
This is good advice, thanks!
That intro was fun. Good job!
Hey, thanks!
I am just about to fit one on my 68, thanks for the video
Good luck!
Really liking your videos! simple to the point and informative.
I appreciate that!
Good Video , thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video! It was helpful!
Awesome, it’s always good to hear someone is able to pull some value from my videos. 😁
You made this look so easy. My nerves would be shot before drilling into metal on the door. I would have to measure 12 times before committing.
I might have measured 20 times, it was still tough to do. :)
Gasket is upside down. Smooth side against the paint. Might help the original front screw to fit better.
Also good idea to tape down mirror and go back to drivers seat and check position. Although it looks like you were plenty far back enough.
I believe in 67 they went to well nuts for the mirrors.
I knew I had that gasket upside down, but I talked myself into the other way. Figures! :)
Now that it has been a while, I wish I would have gone back another 1/2 inch or so. The wing window clears but it's close. Having that extra clearance would have been better and it really wouldn't have changed what I can see out the mirror from the driver's seat.
1966 Mustang. So many muscle car guys are jealous
I'm trying to keep it inline with what this car should have done to it, but put my spin on it. I hope that this car is fun to look at and drive when I'm done, all while trying to make videos to help the next guy fix hit Mustang. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel it is such a classic masterpiece
Can u please tell me the part # on the mirror
Cj?
No problem. Yes, it's from CJP, part number ME1S
The vent window on my 65 hits the mirror also. It's factory as far as a I know.
Is there a different mirror I can purchase? This mirror does not work as well as I thought it would (coverage wise).
@@AndyKruseChannel I think you could probably make it work with a square mirror for a 67.
@@TheScientistHayFarmer Do you know if that mirror has the same bolt pattern so I don't have to drill more holes?
Andy Kruse I don’t know if it has the same bolt pattern or not.
Those screws are gonna loosen up
Yep
