Nahhh.. wasting 2 hours of my time.
Too much lame comedy, slow motion more than 20s, unnecessary dialogue. Pretty good cgi tho.

I mean.... the music is such a masterpiece! That kind of inner peace when Gellert appears at the restaurant - magnificant. Love the chemistry between those two!

Mads just has that natural elegance and the sort of charisma that fits Grindelwald. He's magnificent in that role. The chemistry between him and Jude Law is perfect, the way they look at each other, and that whispered "yes" from Mads kills me every time.
Mads looks wooden in the role, like.. he’s just there.
I thought that Grindelwald was his worst role by far. He's just so bland, like there was nothing there

Great. It seems like my Albus and Gellert really came out from my imagination, at least I believed this chemistry showed they were once truly in love with the other.
I agree with you! I really do love Depp, but I never thought he fit the role as Gellert. Mads really fit the role and his chemistry with Jude was so believable. When I was watching Johnny Depp, I just did not see him as the character and just felt like I was watching Johnny Depp do a performance. Idk how to explain it. But with Mads, I just really feel in it.
I think the Crimes of Grindelwald showed that Dumbledore and him were gay

They really roped me in from the opening. From the intense scene with Dumbledore and Grindelwald, to the sweet scene of Newt and the creature going into a suspenseful scene: just awesome. I really like the Wizarding World logo at 0:17. So cool to have the Elder Wand at the apex.
noone talks about it but i love how newt doesnt hurt even the bad guys... he is just using the defence spells :(
From this opening scene alone...this looks like such a step up from the second movie and I love that. Can't wait to go stream it tonight after work!!
And also...props to this show for FINALLY showing Dumbledore expressing some love for Grindelwald. It was so vague that Dumbledore was gay I had almost forgotten lol.

Jude Law was amazing in this movie
I loved the film so much, I especially loved seeing Albus and Gellert finally share scenes and interact together in this one.
The chemistry between Jude and Mads was magic and unbelievable - I am though sad that Johnny Depp no longer plays the character but Mads was also amazing - how they looked at each other, especially Albus when he said *I went along because … Because I was in love with you* and Gellert smiling when he replied *Yes* and how Gellert changed the subject when Albus suggested freeing themselves from their blood pact; you can see how in spite of them no longer being together or on the same side, their love for one another hasn’t faded.
That was the heartbreaking part of their love story at the end of the movie 💔😢
I think it’s a little unfair to say that Depp’s portrayal of Grindelwald is sub-par. Since that we didn’t see Depp’s actual interaction with Law’s Dumbledore.

Ok ok, hear me out! I am a fan of Depp and do think it was really messed up that he lost his role like that, BUT, to be honest, I never thought he fit as Grindelwald and I am not sure why that is. Anyways, yeah Mads is perfect- he really fits the role. Loved the chemistry here
Mads' portrayal of Grindelwald is so effortless compared to Depp's, imo. He's just perfect for this role.

I don’t know why some people hate on this film that much.. but I like this third film.. unlike the previous one. This time, the film has very well construct storyline, for me, that solve previous film problem. Hope we got the fourth and fifth film soon.

@@purplegion there was no evidence that he didn't do it. WB executives aren't masterminds. If they didn't fire him before he possibly turned out to actually be an abuser they would get ridiculous hate. It was too late to rehire him as it took so long for him to be cleared and they couldn't wait any longer to shoot the film so they had to recast. People really don't think.

Also before & since, I've looked at a lot of evidence - audio recordings, phone calls, photos etc - that wasn't admitted in the trial for different reasons & it's very obvious that she abused him & still is.
Take this for instance, she literally got his job taken away from him.
@@purplegion when they fired him he had lost his trial in the uk where the harry potter franchise originated from and is most associated with. if johnny didn't sue the sun and lost he would still have this role. im happy he lost because mads is much better and a reason why this is such a step up from the horrible second film.

People are still hissing at everything related to the wizarding world because Crimes of Grindelwald wasn't a generic sequel that just repeated all the plot beats from the previous one as what they're all used to have every time (the urge to complain is bigger than the relief of having something good, apparently).
And it's ironic that NOW people are whining about Mikkelsen's Grindelwald since it's THEIR fault that Warner fired Depp as him for the "the truth doesn't matter, HE is the aggressor, my opinion!!!" that people were screaming years ago.
They forgot, but I'll never forget the "BEtTeR tHaN jOhNnY, BeHeHe" that was repeated exhaustively throughout internet back when this was announced.
@@RodrickMarsMoon crimes was awful, the low point of the wizarding movie series. Fans and critics wouldn't defend it. I finally saw the trilogy last week and crimes was somehow worse than what people were saying. It's really that bad. I agree with everything else you said about why the recasting happened but don't die on "the crimes of grindelwald hill". It was a bad movie. Reminiscent of the star wars prequels even.

I wrote and published an article about Crimes of Grindelwald, where I dissected every single argument that exists about it and counter-argument all of it, and everyone that read it say that they changed their minds about it, so...

@@edithputhy4948 The heterochromia was an idea of Depp's to show reflect the sides of Grindelwald and how he can switch in an instant. They kept it for Mads' Grindelwald but toned it down.
Just finished watching it and loved it. Better than the 2nd movie by a ton. The connection between Dumbledore and Grindewald was superb especially with this scene. Can't wait for the next 2 installments.
I hope they continue this movie franchise..... people have criticised this so much and it is possible that they won't continue this anymore

@@joebloggs6922 Not if you give up on it. If it continues to do well through streaming services and with its home media sales I haven’t seen above, and if it’s still playing in theatres anywhere and people go and see it and there is still a chance they could continue it :-)

I really want to watch 'the summer their's fall in love with each other'. We just listen the story but we never see. If you worried about 'some country don't show the movie', why don't you prepare the drama like marvel. They have a movie and drama and this 2 connect each other. This way we can watch mini dumbledore and mini grindewald on HBO max. It would be great

Plot holes so big tanks can run through them.
Over convoluted plot
A plot who makes no sense half the time.
Character who contradicts themselves
Gives the middle finger to the show don't tell.
Revives character who should have remained dead.
Characters who was so flat it is hard to get invested.
But if you remove all that I am sure you have a great 5 minutes left of the film.
So BAD I couldn't put it into words. It did put me to sleep twice, once in the theaters and again when I tried to watch it at home.

Ever since I saw it in theaters, I have been DYING for it to come out on dvd and to start streaming so I can go back and watch a little bit of it. Lovely!
When grindelwald came to dumbledore in the cafe we know they was talking about their past life and when they made their sacred blood oath and they became inseparable (Blood brothers) when dumbledore had their blood oath when the niffler took it from grindlewald in the graveyard catacombs in Paris and when they talked about changing the world in different ways when grindlewald said he’ll burn it to the ground. Voldemort wanted to do the same but before he could do that he needed to kill Harry Potter.

This is scene is so emotional 😭
The only issue I have with this movie is the same I have with most of the recent released ones: it's a repressed movie. Like, it had all the opportunities to do/show stuff that would be the topic of the moment for ages, like Infinity War, Endgame, Zack Snyder's Justice League, No Way Home, etc, but it was holding itself back constantly, following the old "less is more" BS religiously.
I'm preparing a video for CZcams like a "how it should have ended", but showing how this one could had been truly impactful, intensely memorable, if it weren't holding itself so much. I hope you guys like it.

Sometimes I think Vinda is scared of Grindelwald and is doing things out of fear. She probably didn't want to kill the Qilin, which is why it didn't die right away.

I must say I was kind of sad back in the day when I read that Johnny Depp was resigned from the franchise, but there wasn't one second in the movie it bothered me that he got replaced by Mads. The chemistry between these two actors was just on point and Mads played the role brilliantly in the rest of the movie.
This movie was easier to follow and really, people should just give it a chance. While I know chances are low for a next movie, I really do hope a next one will be coming, even if it's only one last movie. Because come on, I know we all wanna see the fight between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.👀

I think this is the most haunting scene in any Harry Potter Universe movie, bar none. I can just imagine the change in the story if Harry and Voldemort sat down and talked for a moment. It would have been haunting and final.
I'm glad we got to see more of Fantastic Beasts and Newt, while I'm also very happy that we got to explore Dumbledore's character and past. He's so fascinating, and all this magic is so much more advanced than what we saw in Harry Potter movies that it's visually stunning and appealing. Loved it. Made me cry the second time watching it lol
