Hey great video! I got into an accident a few years ago and have a pretty big like rubber smear from hitting the other cars rear tire. Would this work despite the black smear having been on the car for so long?
No the acetone will not strip the clearcoated paint , unless you are talking about very poor quality paint and some spray can paint or unclearcoated paint
Good cleaning tips and demonstrations, but if I might make a suggestion, you repeat the different tips like 4, 5 or 6 times. If we don't catch one of your tips the 1st time, we can rewind ... this would shorten the video, but still provide info...I know I look at the 2-3 min. videos 1st rather than choosing a 12+ min. one. Overall, good video ... thks. D
What do you mean by “compounding” them? I’m about to go to my mom’s tomorrow night and I have a very similar scratched surface as the one you have on your bumper and I was wondering where I could buy the acetone and the wax asap
Acetone can be bought at Walmart or any major branded stores other than target, you can use nail polish remover(acetone) also works it contains acetone as well, compound is short for compound polish , any store that sells automotive polishes will have some compound polish , recommend using Meguiars ultimate compound polish for your scenario, just rub it on with a cloth over the affected area and then remove it with a cloth and your done
Omgg😱 acetone worked for me! I used wet wipes instead of dry tissue paper. Darker and deeper scratches required more amount of acetone. As acetone is abrasive, wear gloves to protect your fingertips. Thank you so much for this life changing hack. You're the man, bro!💯💪

The car in front of me was blk and he left alot of ========== lines like this this on my plastic bumper. I jumped out and said What the fuck 😂 true Italian style.

You do want to neutralize the chemical with soapy water immediately after you remove the scuffmarks.

Nail polish remover or mr clean magic eraser sometimes works too
I like to use lacquer thinner, it’s a little stronger and it doesn’t evaporate as quickly as acetone.

Still need to polish the car , acetone will remove any polish protection on the car and full the paint out some so polish needs to be done

If it’s scratched very badly that the black plastic is showing it will need a touch up or repaint
