    That brick-and-mortar running shop looks fabulous.

      Thanks for the kind words! This building has been around for over a century. It's a nice piece of Westminster history.

    Loved the quicksand comment! Didn’t register for me until you said it but it was exactly how I felt trying to do a recovery/easy run in the Bondi 8’s. Oddly enough I found a great shoe in the overpriced Ceilo X1 for longer races.

    I tried on a 10.5 men’s (I am an Amazon woman). Fit felt ok, just a little wide. The ride was what I needed on beat up legs. I just ordered in a women’s 12 to see if that works.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 4 měsíci

      Size 12 women's should fit you perfectly if the 10.5 men's was too wide. The biggest difference between men's and women's sizing is that men's shoes fit wider.

    I tested these out at Big Sur. I was able to get them into an average pace of 9 min miles which is slightly lower than my easy runs. The weather was a lot kinder though. Ended up getting a pair shipped out to me from a contest and now I understand exactly what you are talking about. These are not made for all runs and you definitely have to hold back some. Wonder if it was just dumb luck the 1st time I tried them.

    I just ordered mine supposed to arrive may 1st. I looked at this shoe from an amateur runners perspective. I quite literally ran my first 10k 4 weeks ago. I was using the bondi 8's. I was looking at a shoe for a slower runner to reduce fatigue for the less experienced runners. I'm about a 10 minute mile myself. I really hope it picks up on some of the points you brought up like the slower pacing for distance as I'm working on increasing my distance. I'm from the area but you're unfortunately a good 45 minutes to an hour from me (aa county) and none of the other local shops had them in stock so I had to order mine from Hoka direct. I definitely want to make it up to your shop and check you guys out because I've heard great stuff about what you have to offer.

      Thanks for watching the video! It's nice to hear you're getting into running. The Skyward X will be a great shoe for you since you're looking for a slower-paced race day shoe.

    BThanks for the review in comparison with NB SC Trainer, but NB SC Trainer V3 hasn't been out yet, right???? I just can't wait to test out the SC Trainer V3 this Summer!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The item code for the SuperComp Trainer v2 is MRCXV3. The V3 usually means it's the third iteration, even though it's labeled as the v2. The SuperComp Trainer v3 is expected this summer around July/August. Let us know what you think about the SuperComp v3 when you try it out later this year!

    You had me at slow pace :) You lost me at the not-so-wide toebox :( I've rarely had good sizing luck in Hokas. With the exception of the Bondi 4....going back quite a few years now.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Unfortunately, Hoka sizing is all over the place. If you're looking for a wider-toe box slower shoe from Hoka, we recommend the Gaviota. It's a slow-paced, supportive, maximum-cushion running shoe from Hoka with a wide toe box. The biggest difference is the Gaviota is soft and plush, whereas the Skyward X has responsive and bouncy cushioning.

    I think the superblast is where it’s at. Cool shoe

    • @RunMoore

      The Superblast is a great alternative if you're looking for a lower-priced non-carbon plate shoe. It's in the same category as the Skyward X. Both are maximum cushion trainers / race-day hybrids. Only the Asics Superblast doesn't have a carbon plate.

    • @edrios3668
      @edrios3668 Před 3 měsíci

      Superblast is not a great shoe to run slow in. Until you hit tempo pace it feels a bit stiff and awkward. Skyward X seems like it is designed to run slow in. So are they really that similar?

    Ive had laminectomies and decompression surgery for chiari malformation. I may jog short distances but mostly fast walking w my dog. Would these be good for impact if its more walking than running? I have and love bondi 8 and they work but still have some pain so wondering if these would help with impact or too much for walking?

      The Clifton 10 and Bondi 9 won't be released until 2025. We expect the release in the Spring/Summer season.

    Is there also supposed to be a shoe called the Skyflow, which is sandwiched between the clifton and bondi. ?

    • @RunMoore

      Yes! The Skyflow is the shoe we are looking forward to. It is priced at $160 and is expected to be released in July.

    Do you sell the Women's Skyward? I checked your website but only saw it for Men.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 3 měsíci

      We only pre-booked a small run of the Men's sizing of the Skyward X. We don't have too many ladies in our area who are interested in a high-performance training shoe. Stock on our Hoka retail site has been very low. Feel free to give us a call during business hours and we can special order a pair for you if you would like.

  • @travymoto1

      @RunMoore  Před 3 měsíci

      We don't have any prebooks coming soon with the Skyward X and Hoka has been either low or out of stock on our retailer site in most sizes. If you're interested in picking up a pair of Skyward X, feel free to give us a call during our business hours. We are more than happy to check if anything is available in your size.

    Too heavy and to bulky , will wait for the Glideride Max or Mizuno Neo

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 4 měsíci +2

      You should definitely check out the Asics Superblast then. It is like a Novablast mixed with a Glideride. It is a maximum cushion shoe with a high energy return. It is similar to the Skyward X, only it doesn't have a carbon plate.
