    I think this shoe fits really well. It is easy to let an sized shoe make you think it will fit wide, but it doesn't. Great video. It's not always easy to make honest and direct reviews on products from vendors you have relationships professionally with. Well done.

      Thanks for watching! The More v5 is definitely a fun shoe. I think it helps that we aren't just trying to sell shoes, but we're trying to make sure people get into the correct shoes. We have a few recommendations for shoes from brands we don't carry if someone is looking for a dressier shoe. We even have a video up checking out the Endorphin Speed 4, which is a great shoe that we don't carry as we haven't had the best relationship with Saucony.

      the shoe fits way tighter than the v4. they added literally 10 mm of stack to the front and back and took away a ton of room from inside the shoe. the v4 was an excellent shoe for high volume feet. this thing i can only get to fit with the insole removed and it's still tighter than v4 without having to remove the insole. it does look better though. its also slightly softer, on the level of 1080v13, but not unstable. and slightly less bouncy than the v4.

      @@user-xf4es7eh9y I thought it fit narrower too compared to the previous version. So far my customers have not liked the new version and really dislike the look as with the previous version. Probably more so. In the wide width I actually like it for walking and long easy runs.

      @user-xf4es7eh9y Před 14 dny

      @@PLANETWATERMELON I returned it because I'm not going to pay $160 for a shoe that I can only wear with the insoles removed. It's a rule I have. The width isn't an issue, it's just as wide as the v4. The issue is the depth inside the shoe. The fact that it has a fully gusseted tongue, so it's almost like a bootie doesn't help either. I dont understand why they have to be so extreme. 10 mm of stack height over the v4. A full centimeter. It's clear that most of that room came from inside the shoe. This is something I find endlessly frustrating about running shoe. Frequent updates, and radical changes almost every time. In another month or two, you wont be able to find the V4 anywhere ever again. So you just have to wait another 8 to 12 months to see if they "fix" it on the v6. The v4 already had plenty of cushioning and stack height, I don't understand why they needed to make it 10 mm taller and turn a model known for being roomy into a model known for being tight. As an alternative that isn't anywhere as soft or squishy but every bit as comfortable, maybe more, and just as stable, I got the Altra Via Olympus 2. But I can't suggest it to anyone because they're hideous, don't come in decent colors, cost even more and Altra has well known issues with durability. However the step in comfort is on another level. One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. It's not as roomy as the V4 but for sure isn't a tight inside as the v5. For a $150+ the More v4 and v5 both have cheap uppers. Clearly all the money went into the midsole. I was really hoping the v5 would have a higher quality upper but it's not the case.

      The More is a great alternative to the Bondi 8. New Balance's Fresh Foam X cushion is arguably one of the softest foams of all of our brands. We have also found that the Bondi is a pinch firmer compared to the More.

      The Bondi has a VASTLY higher quality and more plush upper. The more v4 and the v5 both have very cheap uppers for how much they cost. All the money is in the midsole clearly because the midsole is money. Way better than the Hoka there.

    This is a great shoe. A question: I'm an overweight teacher (so I stand a lot in class and move around, not run) so I look for max cushion shoes for the softness and plushness of them. After Hoka Bondi 7 and Brooks Ghost max, the NB 1080 v13 felt insanely soft and wonderful! I am looking to add one more shoe in my collection (for rotation and keeping them in shape). So, does the More v5 offer the same softness? Again, no running, buts lots of standing on my feet. Is it a good candidate for an overweight person to add to my collection?

    • @RunMoore

      If you like the 1080 V13 then you will love the More v5 in my opinion. You get a bigger and taller slab of that Fresh Foam X under your foot with the same softness. It would be a good shoe for you I think based on what you said he have been wearing recently.

    Hi Steve, I'm hoping you might be able to advise me, getting back into running just on a year now and about 30km per week after about 6 years away. The 1260 used to be my absolute go to shoe and I went through about 8 pairs of them over a few years. Coming back I don't know what I should be looking for to replace them. I have tried a pair of 860M12s. They now have over 1000km on them and I think I wasn't as happy with them as I was with the 1260s. I run a bit on road but mostly on a trail path beside a river and I think I feel any more pointy rocks through the soles a bit much. Can you suggest what I should replace them with? I like NB but I'm not oppossed to looking at other brands.
    Thanks very much.

    Agree that the 1080v13 is too soft (initially), but I've worn mine a lot and here in Melbourne Australia it's winter and it is actually performing better in cold temperatures and after a lot of wear casually. Also the upper is warm.
    Looking forward to the More v5 though but hasn't released here yet..

      All EVA based foams will get stiffer in cold temps. Almost all the "EVA" on the market of legit running shoes these days is a blend, but it still gets stiffer in the cold to varying degrees. The data on runrepeat is imo not reliable and riddled with errors however they claim the 1080v13 gets about 30% stiffer in the cold. The 1080v13 is too soft. It's mushy. This is a trend and fad. and the shoes have been one of NB best sellers of all time. The overly compliant is a legit real issue with the shoe. This is why I sent mine back. It's causing two major issues, one is instability which is astoundingly not as bad you might think. The other more serious issue is geometric instability, and this is why I returned mine. The shoes 100% go into negative drop when you're just standing around. I don't need my $175 after tax shoes to put extra stress on my joints like that. The v12 was such an awesome shoe as well. Soft and cushy but not mush, low stack height, low drop, no rocker, highly flexile, great fit, great upper, smooth heel bevel etc.. It's gone forever now. The morev4 is really good for a maximalist shoe, but the thing is insanely bulky and clunky. It's a legit boat. it makes a nimbus feel nimble. You do however get incredible stability from all that bulk at least.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před měsícem

      The foams of shoes will always become firmer in colder weather. We agree that the 1080v13 is a bit too soft, almost becoming indistinguishable from the More in terms of midsole feel. However, the future version of the 1080 will be a pinch firmer which will help separate it from the More.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před měsícem

      @@jeffhicks8428 We will let you know that fortunately, it appears the future 1080 will become firmer than the current version, giving it less of the mushy feel and making it more similar to the old v12 (if it remains how the demo pair was at least).

      @RunMoore  Před měsícem +1

      The 1080v13 and More v5 aren't too dissimilar in terms of cushioning. We find that the 1080 is just as soft as the More, the only main difference being the stack height. We will let you know that the future 1080v14 will be a pinch firmer, allowing it to be more easily distinguishable from the More.

      I know. Such a bummer they couldn't get "Moore" spelt right. The More v5 definitely feels more stable than, say, the 1080v13 which has a similar squish. I think it's a combination of the wider base on the More and the straighter last compared to the 1080.

    What about the width and toebox volume compared to 1080v13?

    • @user-xf4es7eh9y
      @user-xf4es7eh9y Před 15 dny

      The 1080v13 is better if you have a high volume foot, but that shoe is quite unstable because it's overly squishy and geometrically not nearly as stable. The More V4 is an extremely good shoe for high volume feet, but this new version has 10 mm of additional stack height front and back and they took that room away from inside the shoe. it fit me very tight. width is not an issue though. tons of width. It's the height thats a major issue.

    • @user-xf4es7eh9y
      @user-xf4es7eh9y Před 15 dny

      @@ahmaadulhassanbajwa9906 The issue with the shoe isn't the width or even the length. The issue with the shoe is the lack of height. They added 10 mm of stack height front and back from the V4 and took away a lot of room inside the shoe. So it fits tight for me. width wasn't an issue, it was just as wide on the inside as the old version. The issue for me is the tongue and toebox are putting pressure on the foot from above. Also the v5 has a fully gusseted tongue unlike the v4, so that's another reason why it could fit tighter. Honesty though unless you have a high volume foot I doubt you would have any issue at all. I have a very hard time finding s hoes that fit. so just to be clear, sizing up or getting a wide size will not help. I tried on the 4E version. The only way I could get it to fit was to remove the insole.

    Better than the Bondi 8?

    • @jeffhicks8428
      @jeffhicks8428 Před měsícem

      Imo the More V4 is better than the Bondi 8 in most areas aside from the Upper. The upper in the Bondi is vastly more plush and clearly much higher quality. I would try both. The more is softer and bouncier, more compliant and resilient. It might be too much for some folks, it's quite trampoline like. But it's incredibly stable and much more flexile than a Bondi with a much less annoying rocker. both shoes are absolute boats though and very clunky. imo sidewalls are the best thing since sliced bread. so many silly gimmicks in running shoes, but sidewalls are amazing and make so much sense, however many folks dont like the way it looks.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 19 dny

      They are very comparable shoes, both with a 4mm heel drop and a tall stack height; the More coming in at 44mm/40mm, and the Bondi advertised as 31mm/27mm (measured closer to 39mm/35mm). While they are both very soft shoes, the More is noticeably softer compared to the Bondi. They both have great inherent stability, the More having a slight edge with its wider base. All in all, you can't go wrong with either shoe. However, a few of our staff prefer the More.

    Hi am new to the channel. Searching for 2/3 recovery/slow pace long runs models. I have 2e wide feet and land more lateral so shoes that has a medial post of denser foam work not that great. I like a more stable foam not to soft so I go already lateral with heel landing. Drop

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Před 19 dny

      A few options to check out are the New Balance 1080v13, the Hoka Bondi 8, and the Ghost Max 2. The 1080v13 has the same softness and cushioning as the More with less of a medial profile. It also has a lower stack height, coming in at 38mm/32mm (6mm drop) versus the More's 44mm/40mm(4mm drop). The Bondi 8 is very similar to the More with a taller stack height (advertised 33mm/29mm, measured 39mm/35mm), lower heel drop at 4mm, and a slightly firmer cushioning. The only gripe you might have with the Bondi is it has a similar arch profile to the Clifton that pushed you to the outside. The Ghost Max 2 is the firmest of the bunch. It is definitely firmer and more stable than the original which will help prevent supination.

      @@RunMoore thanks! I really appreciate this! I test some models. Indeed the bondi 8 was one of the most stable neutral. It is so robust. I did not can lateral wide lateral rear and forefoot. Only it on the firm side I feel for running? Ghost max 2 was less stable the foam was softer and side walls also. Side wall on the bondi where stiffer by the foam they use. I also try the more v5 really soft foam buth the midsole base and side walls where great only if you go lateral in the foam with force I think it can not handle to push me in. Sky flow try also only more medial support feeling. Bondi or Clifton is more neural. For my the hurricane 24 was more central, good stable side walls, good lateral flares both side, good medium stiff foam more stiff then ghost max 2, more v5 and just softer then bondi better to run in quess.
      1080 I did not try I think it is as soft as more v5 and perhaps less stable for me 85kg and run with more force. What I did like and try was the 880v14 this one is also great stable neutral only more a daily trainer then recovery shoe, wide base, medial and lateral flank, heel stable and mid stiff foam. Great for supination! But I will try the 1080. I hope website promote also more supination instead of only tell us if the support pronation
      So hurricane and 880v14.

Huge let down. I bought this as soon as it came out. stock up on the v4 while it still exists. annoying running shoes which come and go in a blink and ever new version is radically different in fit and feel. i hate that and it's such a gimmick. i wish this practice would end.
