    Great video. I’m currently building that Walthers model and I’m looking to that lighting system. Thank you for the video. It’s cleared up some questions I had about the product.

    Thanks for sharing. A very useful video as I am about to start installing this system on my layout. Will look forward to seeing more. Roy.

    Price is a little high, been using them for about a year.
    The hubs seem to be low quality plastic and low quality pots dimmers. Adjust one, and all lights flicker.......
    I'm planning to use it with the NCE Lite-IT dcc modules instead of the power supply/hubs .

      Appreciate the insight. I am hoping the hubs hold up through the years. I do like the ease of plug and play. I will be doing working crossing gates in the coming months... that install is on the other side of the spectrum, curious on what my perspective will be then!

    I ordered my led lights for my carerra 1:32 scale track. Bought from slot car man cave . Also bought 3v DC regulated 1000mA adapter powers 1-50 lights that I bought for my track. I also bought the just plug extension wire JP 5683. So what hub should I get for my 24 actual lights that will go around my track?

      I think you would be good with the 5700 light hub, you can daisy chain more of the hubs out of the 5702 expansion hub.

      @@BensTrainsChannel thank you for your response. Can I like wire all the lights to 1 wire then plug into the hub? How many lights can each port on the hub hold?

    • @BensTrainsChannel
      @BensTrainsChannel  Před rokem +1

      Four lights per hub, and then you can use the expansion hub to add more light hubs. Since these are LEDs I would think you could add more to each hub, but that would involve soldering some of the lights together and jointing them into a single plug. The good thing about the just plug series is it makes it easy to do all kinds of lights, down side is it’s get expensive to buy all the equipment needed to do the lighting you might want. Convenience over cost with the just plug series instead of a more advanced setup of soldering LED’s with resistors and power sources.

    When I paint my buildings the first coat is either black or dark grey to keep light from coming through the walls

      Man, that’s a really good technique. I have gone back and blacked out areas that needed it, but doing a base black first makes much better sense. Thank you!

    I have the WS street lights what is the CD voltage needed for them?. I don't want to buy extra PS if i don't have to. TIA

      I have been using a 12 volt feeding a block with the lights plugged in and I feel like I could add many more.

    Useful video, thank you. Question - is it possible to add none WLS lights such as those from Gaugemaster via the Linked cable ?

    • @BensTrainsChannel
      @BensTrainsChannel  Před 3 lety

      I can’t say for sure. I am getting ready to try something similar. Several of the just plug lights I have are just wire that then punches into the “just plug clip”. I think because of that you could add some other types of lights as long as everything is in line the same as the woodland scenics!

    Can you use the dimmer on the station building? I think the light hub has dimmer knobs.

    • @BensTrainsChannel

      Simple answer is yes. The long answer is depends… I am using the port sharing device off the hub, so it gets a little complicated. You can dim each of the 4 ports on the hub, however I have a port sharing device coming out of each of those ports. So in my case I would be dimming 4 different lights with one dimmer.
