- Here is an introduction of the Woodland Scenics Just Plug Lighting system, the components, what they do, how to connect them, how to wire everything up and example of how they work on a Gn15 layout. Sorry about the length of the video.

Wow you sure did a good job explaining it all. :) I am just now starting back into this .The last time I had a set up was back in the 80's lol wow it sure has changed a lot but my hole system is old set up. So this was good for me a lot to take in but you know I do think I will watch it more then once to get it all . Thank you for the video and have a great weekend too!!!!
Thanks for watching the video. A lot has changed since the 80s. I am glad DCC has come to model railroading. It makes wiring so simple. I would highly recommend you go with that. Regular DC wiring is crazy complicated compared to DCC. Then buy locos decoders already installed to make life easier. This is the advice I wish I was given when I came back to Model trains.

Your welcome. It’s a super easy system. I might add a stationary DCC decoder for a future JMRI day/night automated control. Fun but JMRI is not simple (yet).
Interesting video, well detailed and explained. I too suggest you rethink your choice and use of music. You want attention focused on your content. When I want a water torture effect, l use water.
Thanks for the suggestions, I have since that video limited the music just to the beginning and end. No music during the meat of the videos.
I do that with my phone if you have internet it’s so simple plus you can set a sequence it’s really easy ans not much at all. Also great fun for Christmas.

Great video. I’ve already started using some of these. I find the whole system great. I’m plugging in lights from other suppliers e.g the station platform lights, and they’re working really well. I’ve not considered the sequencer before, so that looks very useful. What’s the slowest you can set it to? I’ve also dimmed most of my lights to simulate 1920s and not a more modern glare.
I’ve subscribed and looking forward to seeing more.
PS you could lose the “music” without any ill effect!
The sequencer is really good for residential models like homes and apartments. There is no numbering to it but I set it to the middle (think 12 o’clock position) and it is slow! So there is a lot of range.

Good point about dimming the lights. I’m modeling 1930s so lights need to be dimmer. The street lights are G scale lamps from China. Which work perfectly.
Thank you for sharing this. In the last part of the video, you show how the lights turn on and off at different times on different floors. Is this cause you're using a different sequence hub or does the same sequence hub have the ability to randomly change the lights on/off as long as they are on different ports? Thank you

Thanks! I had to make it twice. The first time I used old sparkle and it was a disaster since it never really hardened. I switched to Durham's Water Putty, its The best.

Good question, I have not tried it outside. I would suggest reaching out to Woodland Scenics CZcams channel and ask there.
I would think that the foam and white glue used would not survive direct sun or rain.
Please don't ever use that music again. Painful.
It was an early video. I have since changed the approach.
