      Thanks infact we will see some more in the next few episodes as I share with you the costal scene and what we did for the illuminated channel markers. They really do make a solid product although there have been recent shortages in Australia at the present which makes it a bit challenging. Thanks for the support and enjoy future videos.

      Why thank you for your support and yes, it is a wonderfully simple and expandable system. That can be as cheap or expensive as you like. I won’t lie to you as I carry on. I am taking the more expensive route on some sections, but that will become evident I’m currently wiring up my fuel Dare at the moment, which is partly to do what the most current video was talking about with the LED style flutes , but we will be seeing that fuel depot being unveiled, probably within the next couple of months. Stay safe

    Hello Josef, I am not knocking the Woodland Scenics You Tube versions of instructions on the Just Plug systems. BUT they hired the wrong guy, it should have been you, If I knew some of the tricks of the trade you pointed out, my blood pressure would not had been so high. Working under a train layout table with Just Plugs system several years back and that there was a better way. Well not so happy. Your explanations are perfect along with various tips. A saving grace for my future is that I just moved my layout to another home and just stated working under the table to connect track and light power, I will be watching your other videos as my work continues slowly, I am 77 any takes longer to get up and down but not too old to enjoy my model layout and the process is going to be made much easier with your videos, Thank you very much.

    You are explaining exactly what I needed to learn. Thank you. I will be watching it over and over. One question - you mention a resistor in some of the wiring leads.Can you explain more about when these are required and what ohm of resistor is needed for different scenarios?

    • @josefbuckland
      @josefbuckland  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the interest the comment and indeed the question. Yes, it’s getting a lot more juicier at the moment and I will be doing another video. I have discovered a whole bunch of extra tricks that this wonderful device can do from Woodland scenics, including how you can throw away all your resistors, and never need to worry about any of that nonsense again, I’m wiring up a few buildings at the moment using Various different lamps and internal lights, and they often come with a resistor board especially DCC concepts lamp posts, so you can choose what brightness you want the lamp posts where you can forget about all that soldering and all that nonsense throw it in the trashcan because all you need to do is turn the knob dim or bright you can’t go wrong and the resistor does the work. I am going to be talking about yard lights and buildings and it’ll be coming up in a video within the next three months so please do sit tight you thoroughly enjoy how much money you can save some from such an invaluable product.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I do not have a dcc system and I realize you cannot possibly consider every power/rail situation. So, can you perhaps point me to a similar resource that speaks to powering just plug devices and lights from a Lionel O gauge three-rail system that is powered by a power block (not transformer)? I’ve done some research but, well, it’s nearly Christmas, and my grandson and I are putting together a holiday scene. 😅

    • @josefbuckland
      @josefbuckland  Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@lkeydavis that’s easy. Do what I do just buy the wall plug $30-50 EU UK USA AU they make the plug you need you plug in the wall and you are off wire them up. It’s what I’m doing Nothing is connected to my tracks or train controllers I just switch the power point on at the wall and as they say LET THERE BE LIGHT!

    How many expansion hubs can you plug into a light hub without a overload

    • @josefbuckland
      @josefbuckland  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Honestly, quite a lot I can tell you now I still have a mountain more that’ll still be getting connected and you’ll see an upcoming videos and there is absolutely no reason in the world. I’ll need to do any form of upgrades or anything. Honestly, I want to say you’ll probably get away with running up to about 100 even 200 if you needed but who’s really going to need to do that and anyone that sort of going over probably 50 is a reasonable number probably has a different way of expanding their system but realistically there is some excellent headroom and considering most luminaries or lights these days are LEDs. You have pretty good headroom check out my video on the model airport because I can officially report as of last week I accidentally forgot to turn the lights off on that model airport And that room was locked for nearly a month when I walked back in the lights were still on two AA batteries three AA batteries sorry and that’s a heck of a lot of LEDs running right there so that really gives you a good scope of how much this thing is going to be able to provide Really your imagination is the limit, and I don’t know of many layouts that probably have 100+ of these running so to answer your question just go for it it’s a great system and it’s absolutely full proof and the team at Woodland scenics are only too happy to help and there are some wonderful calculators online. That will give you exact numbers but just between you and me a really simple answer more than we will ever need Keep tune for some more quality videos, which were returning to Lighting a little later on I’m currently installing my ground signals and a custom surprise. I’m working on regarding lights on two sections of the layout the videos should be done in the next month.

    OMG!...those plug and plays are waaaaay cheaper here in USA. Each box is less than $20...and so is the power transformer. Boy i feel bad for you guys down there.

    • @josefbuckland
      @josefbuckland  Před 6 měsíci +1

      You are absolutely right we are getting absolutely ripped off here. I don’t even want to get started with the last order I did from the states basically a series of boxes that cost less than US$200 with freight and everything else I don’t mind telling you I got a little bit of change out of $1000. It’s ridiculous don’t worry I have the same problem with all the stuff I need from the United Kingdom And they call us the lucky country lol

    Will this system work with rail road crossings

    • @josefbuckland
      @josefbuckland  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Railroad crossings, usually have their own little control board to set the timer off for activating the lights and or sound, and or boom gates. If you buy a quality kit, everything you need will be on board and you can either automate it with senses or you can have it wired up elsewhere. I’m not aware that there are direct options from just plug but I might be wrong. You might benefit checking out the Woodland scenic website unfortunately, none of my road crossingsfeature any form of electronics they are just country Road simple crossings

      They really do transform the environment of a scene and as you can see it can be as plug and play as you LIGHT
