    Certainly simple and effective products to use. I’ve just purchased a second batch of lighting, controllers and switches. Just thought I’d throw in a future request for a Model T Ford truck in N gauge?! Here’s hoping...

    Thank you Woodland Scenics for this product. I love the Just Plug products, but I echo everyone else's complaints about the more modern vehicles. All of the vehicles that WS offers (not just these new Just Plug cars) are all over 50 years old. That limits what I would purchase and place on my modern layout. If WS offered modern vehicles (1980's and later), my purchases would go from one maybe two, to all of the vehicles. Please forward this request to product development as I feel like they are missing out on a large market share, that would benefit all modelers and WS.

      Thanks for the suggestion. Our modeling is based on the 40’s and 50’s era. I will forward your request on to our Product Development department for consideration. If we do decide to offer it, we will post it in our Coming Soon area on our Website for new products, so you can keep checking there.

    Wow, your Just Plug lighting system keeps getting better and better! I love that you've expanded this brand of products into vehicles now.
    I noticed that most, if not all, your vehicles represent those that ran in the 1950s. But some prototype model railroaders focus on different eras. For example, I model the mid-1960s. Some choose the 1970s as the period to model their layouts, while others select the 1980s, and so on.
    Does Woodland Scenics have any future plans to expand this incredible line of Just Plug lighted vehicles into other time periods represented?

      Hi, Tom! I am unsure if vehicles from other eras are something we might offer in the future, but I will forward your request on to our Product Development department for consideration. If we do decide to offer it, it will be added to the “Coming Soon” section of our website until it is released and moved to “New Products.” woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/category/ComingSoon?perPage=1900

      Thanks, I appreciate you forwarding my inquiry up the chain. I hope the decision makers at Woodland Scenics will consider this idea seriously, because it could offer a very profitable marketing win for your company. Except for an extremely limited line from Classic Metal Works, the marketplace sees virtually no high-quality commercially produced 1960s period vehicles in N scale.
      Can you imagine how many miniature 1966 Ford Mustang Fastbacks you would sell if Woodland Scenics made them for its Just Plug lighted vehicle line? They'd fly off retailers' shelves so fast that they couldn't keep them in stock. Believe me, the pent-up demand is there, but so far almost no model railroading manufacturer has recognized it enough to take action and profit from it.

      I guess if needed, you can buy the lights alone and drill a hole/ mount lights into any vehicle you want? I was wondering the same thing. It seems whenever I look at model railroad anything from any company, everyone sells 40's and 50's stuff... I like things a bit more modern, myself.

    Is the linker plugs and just plug system compatible with other manufacturers lighting accessories? For instance could I use a linker plug to connect to the hub a factory wired model power or bachmann etc. building

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert  Před 3 lety

      We have not tested other companies’ lights with Just Plug Accessories or Hubs. Therefore, we cannot give any guidance or information on what the results would be. It is possible that other companies’ lights are or can be made compatible with the Just Plug Lighting System. It is not likely that Light Hubs will be damaged because their ports are current limited. Possible outcomes of using other companies’ LEDs are: they work okay, they’re too dim, they burn out immediately, or their operating lives are reduced. Regardless, should you wish to try this, you do so at your own risk and Woodland Scenics is not responsible for other companies’ damaged LEDs.

    Like many others here I understand it is not possible to be all things to all people. I keep hearing that the hobby is dying and in my view it is not dying it is being killed because younger people have no /limited knowledge of the past and want to create current layouts. Woodland Scenics would do well to at least try some modern additions to see if it stimulates sales. I know I would far prefer to buy these products from you than the out of scale, cheaply made products available elsewhere.
