    Idk kinda scares me there’s so much that has higher failure potential. Let’s see in 10-15 years and see how things have held up and keep track of all the issues it had along the way. Then we can discuss how good it is. Something that is this new is scary, maybe they are the best ever, I just want to see that evidence.

    Awesome video. I have the same unit in Sacramento, ca and I love it.... In summer.
    Now that winter is coming the sound of the heat pump is absolutely horrible... And, that makes me think the install needs to be revisited...
    Any ideas about how to quiet the system while in heat mode?

    • @themoderntradesmen9352
      @themoderntradesmen9352  Před 9 měsíci

      that's strange they're normally not very loud in heat mode either, ask for isolation pads, and to check charge, also there is a setting called anti heat delay that may be useful.

      Thank you for the reply tradesman.
      I have ordered the isolation pads with the cork in the middle.
      Also, point of interest the loudest point (dB meter) is about 5 feet from the ground. The sound level is 107 dB on the wall and 63 at the top of the pump. ???
      Either way thank you for your reply.

      @davidceg790 interesting, the lineset carrying the refrigerant may be vibrating in the wall causing it to actually be louder than the system itself. I'd recommend checking there also.

    Hello ModernTradesMen. I live in Southern California and one of the HVAC gave me a quote of $9,700 below included pulling local City permit. Is the Bosch heat pump compatible with ADP Air Handler? They said my garage doesn’t have 220v outlet so Bosch Air Handler can’t be used in this case. Are they correct? Thanks!

      variable speed systems are going to be better than traditional systems at dehumidification because of their longer run cycles. It's alot more technology than other systems but with much better efficiency, comfort, and noise reduction. you need to ask the company of your choice how much training and experience they have with these systems.

    I just had the BOVB-60HDN1-M18M installed paired with a replacement single stage goodman gas furnace. Surprisingly it seems to be able to operate at 2 stages even though the gas furnace is listed as a single stage (with an ECM fan though). However I notice the high stage is rather loud. I was suppose to get the 2.0 BOVA 20 seer unit and due to a snafu the installers just installed the 18 seer unit. Would it have been quieter if I had insisted on waiting for the 20 seer BOVA instead of the 18 seer BOVB they put in? They said the BOVA is discontinued for now and is unavailable, perhaps due to some issue with the parts?

    • @themoderntradesmen9352

      Not sure if I understand. You have a mismatched goodman furnace with a 18 seer BOVB outdoor unit?( Not recommended) Adjust the blower speed to the right cfm of the outdoor unit and it may work ok. 2.0 BOVA is definitely not discontinued not sure why they told you that. The BOVB is actually the one that's discontinued.

      Yes the ecobee works decent and you won't have any issues. The bosch is overall more modular and has better airflow than the Trane in my opinion. Not to mention the bosch uses a standard 24v system which allows you to use most smart thermostats while the Trane uses DC voltage and requires its own special thermostat.
