My GO TO pattern for children’s ponchos. I have made dozens of these for elementary age children at two reservations near us.They make up so nicely, squishy and warm while having a nice drape to them. Thanks for sharing😊
I just completed this poncho in 2_4 size using Red heart Spearmint Ombre. It turned out absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for another wonderful video.
thank u a million creative grandma! i finally found someone who really gives me the exact number of chain of different sizes!! i really appreciate that!
omigosh thank you for the first row idea. Ive been crocheting for 30 yrs and make alot of ponchos and my least favorite thing is doing the first row in a round.idk why i didnt think of this!
I've been looking for the perfect poncho to make my 7 year old. I bought one years ago and is now too small. she still loves to wear it though. We say this one and she and l love it. We seen many, but this one is cute and fun! Thank you for these instructions.... If I don't forget, I will post a picture of it when it's completed.
Hi, Glenda! I guess it's been a while since you have gotten a comment on this pattern! I have a habit of creating files in my CZcams app for everything that catches my eye as far as crochet patterns go. My latest project is making each one of my 4 grandchildren a nice poncho. Three girls and a boy. Took me a while to save quite a few, about 25 patterns. This poncho pattern of yours fit what I wanted it to look like the best. My grandmother made me a poncho in purples when I was about 8 years old. I don't have it anymore, but I still remember it! I'm hoping my grandchildren remember the ones that I am making for them now. I am turning 65 years old in May. My great grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 13 years old! So, it's been a long time! Thanks, Glenda!
Thank you for the tutorial. I just purchased the same yarn you used for this project. I made a poncho for my 10 yr. old granddaughter using chunky yarn called Parfait Layers "Bowl of Cherries" is the color. It's a very soft, chunky yarn. I was amazed how fast I was able to complete the poncho. I'm a big fan of Creative Grandma!
Patty Lucas , Hi. May I ask you what the length was that you mad for the 10 year old. I’m making these in different sizes and not sure because I have no one to measure as these are gifts. Thank you 😊
Creative Grandma First I want to say thank you so much for this tutorial...Also I want to say how clear you speak and how soft spoken/patient you are...Thank you again😇
Hello Ms. Glenda, I'm working this up now for my 4 yr. old granddaughter using the Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn in Navy Marine; she picked herself. I'm going to add some twisted fringe along the edges all around. Thanks for sharing your instruction tutorial and have a blessed day!!
Thank you for your tutorials. I am making this one for one granddaughter and your Easy Double Stitch Poncho w twisted fringe for my other granddaughter, her sister, in coordinating colors. I wanted quick and easy patterns as I have to make a baby blanket for their baby brother or sister who is due in March. 💜
Hi Glenda this is lovely poncho have been doing regular ponchos using DC stitch but this is so different, l do them for a charity here in Ireland to raise funds for hospice, thanks so much love your. Tutorials hugs.
This is a great pattern to use. Quick & easy. I have a Birthday party for a 1yr old on Saturday. I can adjust the length for her size. And I can make a matching pouch purse to match. You know, to carry her little toys in. 😅. Thank you very much!! 💞💞💞💞
The gorgeous colors make me wish I had my own yarn store. I will be attempting to do this poncho in my size. Thank you for sharing your pattern and tutorial.
Linda Mitchell did u ever make the poncho 4 urself? I asked because that's what I want 2 do, make one 4 myself. I need 2 know all the different counts so it can become adult size. Can u help me
@@tanyarawls4692 not yet. I'm currently working on a different poncho while I wait for my yarn. I wear a 16 plus size so you will have to go according to your size. Your gauge will also be different depending on your hook size.
Thank you for this, my daughters wanted a poncho for my granddaughter and great granddaughters, but they wanted it hooded, can you help me on this..your help has been a great help to me..you are a gifted teacher!
FINALLY!! Started this several times, it just didn't look right, this time I kept going and I have neck to do but I finally made something besides a Afghan!!! I feel special. Thank you again Glenda!
First, I want to say thank you for all of these great instruction videos! They're so easy to follow and helpful for learning how to do a lot of crochet stuff that I just couldn't seem to understand before. Do you think that, for making an adult size for these, you could make the beginning chain approximately 10 or 12 stitches longer and go from there? Also, maybe gauge it by measuring around your shoulders, or whomever you're making it for and go from there? What would your advice be? 😊
Hello Rebecca, Thank you so much for your kind words. I have not made this in a adult size, but I did take this one and put it over my head to try to guess how much bigger to start the chain by the way this one fit. It fit over my head but was very tight around my neck. So I would increase the chain to 108 and do the first 2 or 3 rnds and see if it fits around the head and neck area ok. I am not sure what size adult size you need, so if 108 is tto large then decrease 12 chain or increase in multiples of 12 until you get the right fit. You will have to adjust where your front and back corners are as well. I hope this helped.
@@CreativeGrandma Hi I love the poncho and my niece has asked me if I could do it for her 9 month old and wondering if u able to help out on stitches please as I am a complete beginner at crochet and only done couple of projects which has turned out pretty good even if I do say so myself and as self taught with your videos I'm amazed on how easy you have made it for me to learn.
