From what I've read, this really does make a difference and I have no idea why. It's literally only Pop figures that do this. With any other toy line a minor packaging variation would make zero difference if it's the exact same figure but with Pops, having a sticker on the box some how makes it worth more.
I still don't understand why anyone would try to sell anything to a store though when you have to take into account they're going to give you less or they can't resell it and make a profit on it. If you put it up for auction on E-bay yourself you will make a lot more money than what a pawn shop will ever pay you. That's where you're going to find people willing to pay top dollar for a sticker.

I mean Pokémon elite trainer boxes in America are like 30-50 new. Yet at the same time the same etb sold in Japan is going for 60-100. At least the Pokemon center etbs have that issue.

collectors might buy it at full price especially if it is still new and safe from hazards. The issue here is people will take something worth 400$ to a shop who will resell it but also in most cases want to make a profit as the middleman.
Like say when you sell a new console to someone who will use it vs someone who will resell it. I might get full price hell even the taxes from the buyer who will use it but you take it to someone who isn't the final home, they are going to tell you at the very least that they can only give you about 475$ if they are being charitable.
Then they might sell it at MSRP of the 499$ + taxes.

When it comes to collectors? A single sticker in good condition increases the price immensely.

People in this comments section are supporting a collectors store for not honoring collector items rarity? Pfft bots? The stickers are proof of edition, the edition makes it more rare, the rarity makes it more valuable to other collectors.

This is what many people dont understand, particular releases etc are a niche not a norm. Look at trading cards, unless something of rarity is eother very cheap or easily attainable a vast majority will simply go with the lower rarity items think limited release card runs compared to later common release's. So a vast majority of the time those items sit either until someone with nothing better to do or a collector shows up.

Too be fair, owning a pop place and not knowing about rare stuffs like that would be dumb if real (i know its a skit, not rlly into pops so idk anything about em. they're cool but I got too many hobbies already)
It'd be like owning a card shop and not knowing the difference between a beta and alpha lotus. Lmao

Stickers matter, some are target, hot topic, etc exclusives. Some may be the same but the sticker is like the difference between a Pokémon and it’s shiny counterpart. Shiny may be the same Pokémon, but it’s more rare.

If you are selling to a store or dealer, assume they need to double the price they paid when they sell it. They have to meet overhead. If you can get $400 online from another collector you will get $200 from a retail store.
That's if it even is worth $400.
