READ THIS FOR AN UPDATE!
This video gets traction occasionally and people are passionate in their responses - negative and positive. It was my first time buying this many pops and the fact that they were out of box added an extra element of uncertainty. Let
me give some context after a year and a half.
1. The video did well so that’s good.
2. A few pieces sold quickly for an ok return.
3. I quickly grew tired of the research involved for each individual piece only to find that many were not worth the time.
4. I have over 90% of these left after a year and a half.
5. Im finally to the point of pricing them for $1 a piece (barely above breaking even) and placing them in my little booth. It’ll probably take a year to move them all.
6. It was a good learning experience.
Do I regret the buy? No. Like I said, the video did well and it was fun at first. Would I do it again? NO! I, like the original seller, would not want to again attempt all the work involved to maximize the potential of each individual piece. Also, I would not be excited by a purchase like this and I only like to share the experiences I’m excited about. Cheers!
I would like to know if you still have some dragon ball funko pops that you would like to sell. I might consider buying them
I would definitely want to buy all those fnaf funko pops if your son didn’t want them lol.
Have you got that super brains still? Or any overwatch pops I would be interested if you still. Have some
I would like the Resident Evil ones if still available
Also bro good information that you need. When viewing pops at all if they have a "A376" or anything to that notion, it's a faked pop. I noticed that immediately on the bottom of Freddy. Real Funkos correspond with a box code imprinted in the bottom. The numbers are located on the foot or back of the neck on some pops. If you need pics or more information, I'll be glad to send it over.
Can we appreciate how respectful he is with negotiations. Such a nice guy and why I love watching these videos
Hey thanks!

The heck, how come I can’t find yard sales where people are selling their whole Funko pop collection for only 2 dollars each 😭
Wouldn't be worth it. They are out of their box.
Yea crazy even without a box thats dope
@@teiganamanda7531 Why would you let them in their box?
@@ZeNepDes bruh
@@teiganamanda7531 Did you not just see that some are selling for 20-90 dollars out of box? Or did you not watch the end
I think this is the first time I've actually seen Funkos out of the box. Glad to see someone actually opened them and enjoyed them.
I have all my Pops out of box and on display cause i just think they look cool and yeah enjoy them as you say. Not goimg to sell most of them so why not enjoy them 🙂 Still have the loose boxes in storage though. The boxes actually make a great makeshift row of stands on a shelf to put the pops on cause they are the perfect height
I used to display mine out of the box, but I got sick of them falling over, so I just put them back in their boxes. They are a lot easier to display that way imo.
I keep them in the boxes but alot of the boxes are opened cause ill use them as decorations. For instance i had a massive empty spot in my pc case, so i put a couple of my funkos in there
It always looks so tacky and cheap to me when people have a bunch of boxes in their room. Figurines look so much better set up.
@@SanityTV_Last_Sane_Man_Alive Yea, but a lot of the cheap ones like funko pops don't have very good bases, so it's a lot easier to display them in their box.
The lady looking at the Funko table when you offered to buy them all was like, “okay. I guess I’m done here.” 😂
The kid explaining who all the Funkos are is so precious! Very knowledgeable!
Hurt my soul a little knowing he was selling something he collected and had so much passion for that’s the sad part about collecting it’s not like it goes with you to your casket might as well sell it before you can’t
@@lordreaper7569 Yeah. He was probably slightly pained about selling those. I know the feeling. I'm still holding on to stuff that I really shouldn't. They seem like really nice individuals. Good deals and willing to spend energy to inform about the figures.
I thing the young guys between 25-35years know most of these characters, I myself would know at least 95% of them and I am not really into horror movies, I just know these guys. It usually stuck to you when you like video games and movies. I see lot of overwatch stuff, five nights at freddy's, deathwing, marvel stuff - thanos, capa, pixar inside out, baymax, cthulhu, dragonball - Natsu, Jack Skellington, Asuna, borderlands, and so on, also it might be due to a fact I am kinda nerd
@@rawwad yeah, hurt my soul when he said Natsu was from dragon ball. And he had a passion for this too.
Not very knowledgeable about the prices though 😂
As a Funko collector, there's some pretty expensive grails in there.
I was about to say that same thing. 170 bucks for the lot was such a great deal.
Not without the box and the condition of the pops
@@PourTheYa dude theyre funko collectors, they know how much cost without box lol
I had over 500 funko , and without the box, doesn't worth much, except specific piece, like the genie from Aladdin , lotso from toy story , Dorothy from Wizzard of oz , even withoutthe boxyou can't get full price
@@PourTheYa yeah that not true statement out of box slightly affect the value depending on pop
Those kids are cool guys, too . Quite respectful - helpfull knowledgeable - and not greedy .. they have a bright future ahead 😊

i cry inside when i see people selling their entire collection. It just breaks my heart. Good find.
At the end of the day, it's just some mass manufactured plastic.
What you own owns you.
Better have one very, very valuable item for a couple thousand bucks on your shelf than hundred little plastic things that you get for 10 bucks each new from Amazon.
In my opinion.
@@maxschmidt666 This is how I see it too.
I'll never understand why people collect things that are specifically mass produced and marketed as "collectibles". They will never be worth anything substantial because everyone and their mothers is collecting them and holding onto them, hoping they will increase in value.
Things gain value over time due to rarity, and often that rarity exists because not many people thought to keep hold of them.
Mint boxed copies of the original World of Warcraft are rare and valuable because not many people at the time thought it would become the biggest MMO of all time. Not many people decided "I'm not going to open my copy of this game I just bought". It likely happened by pure accident.
Truly valuable collectible items happen organically. You can't mass produce items with the intent of them being valuable collectibles. It just doesn't work like that.
@@arstulexTrue value is what each person finds valuable. I say let them collect to their hearts content! To each their own. Everything is worthless anyways. Without one to give it value.
@@suibora When we're talking about a _market_ then value is what the market decides. Which in the case of mass produced 'collectibles' like Funko Pops is low.
What you are referring to is _sentimental value,_ which is completely different.
Your Funko Pops might be worth $100 each to you for whatever reason, but it doesn't mean you can reasonably expect to sell them for that value.
What a fun day. Seeing your son was a big bonus, thank you.
The suspense was killing me! I was actually saying out loud, "Just pull the trigger already and make an offer for them all!" I was worried someone would swoop in and beat you to it.
😂😂😂
Same 😭😭
Me too!🤑
Yes. To quickly bundle those up was an easy decision. 🙈😬🤨
Same dude! Specially when I saw the adventure time funkos and the dragons!
My son messaged with this seller the night before, But since we were coming from Bloomington, by the time we arrived, the funkos were gone! Now we know who got there first!! Love your videos glad you got them!
Oh that’s crazy! I’m sorry - but I appreciate the kind words. I just got lucky on this one
When you were explaining your search process for them, I was curious if eBay supported search operators to streamline the process a bit, and it does. If you wanted to search for a spock funko and include the 3 terms you mentioned, in a single search, you could use "spock funko (loose, no box, oob)" as a search string.
I like how they just kept trying to get rid of stuff.
"here take this movie... here is some small figures... look another movie."

such an awesome deal you can have these everywhere and it looks great. the whole set looks pristine
This reminds me of a yard sale I went to 20 years ago. I collect antique bottles. Buying them one off can be expensive especially if you buy them on E-Bay. At the time I had around 150 of them and had recently started buying small collections of them and would pick out a few for my collection then resell the rest and make a small profit. This is a good way to collect anything if you are on a budget. So I get to this yard sale and they had about thirty on a table priced at $1 each. Three of them I recognized as bottles worth closer to $5-$10 each and already had many that they had but the price was really good. So I asked how much they wanted for the lot. The guy scratched his head and said "Well I got hundreds of them in boxes out back. Think you might be interested in the whole lot?" He too me to the back yard behind his garage and he had more than hundreds. A quick count of just three cardboard boxes showed there was an average of about 80 bottles per box. He had 32 boxes. I asked what he would take for the whole lot and he asked if I would go $50. I pulled out a hundred dollar bill and handed it to him and he said he couldn't make change and I told him if he helped me load them he could keep the change. We got my van all loaded up and I could see his excitement in getting rid of them. I could see his wife was even more excited. She told me my purchase was more than they made selling everything else combined at it was the end of the second day. It was months before I had an exact count. Every one of them had been dug from a 19th century refuse dump in New England. The total topped out at over 2500 bottles. Roughly 1100 were worthless to any collector. Most had some sort of damage or were too plain or common. Many had some sort of decorative value so I advertised that entire lot for sale on Craigslist and waited. Three weeks later I got a call from a prop master who wanted to look at them if I promised not to clean them. He came by that afternoon, took one look and offered me $200. That was the junk. I then went through them for ones to add to my own collection. That came to about 230 bottles which more than doubled the size of my collection. Some were quite rare and a few were valuable but I would not part with any of those and still have them. I then went through the rest and grouped them in 27 lots of 25 bottles, 41 lots of 10 bottles, 9 lots of 5 bottles and 39 single bottles. It took me three years to sell them all and ended up clearing a little over $3900 on eBay. That came to a total of $4100 or almost exactly $4000 profit. I spent roughly 200 hours between the time it took buying them and taking them home and the time I spent sorting and photographing and listing then packaging up and shipping everything. So roughly $20 an hour net. Not bad. At the time I was earning $17 an hour at my job. Plus more fun than operating a machine.
This was such a fun comment thank you for sharing your story!
Sweet story!
What a cool story
Cool story man
Good deal! At least you saw the potential in them. Most people just chuck out old bottles. (Which confuses the hell out of me, since I go dig them up!)
I wonder why those guys didn’t sell them themselves online as they seem to be knowledgeable about them
They couldn’t be arsed probably 😂
Selling them is a pain. Have A Captain Marvel I'm literally handing away because I just wanted the stack (listed for 3 dollars) have people messaging me demanding more pictures, condition, bla bla then they ghost me...... I also have a lion King one where I'm selling at retail and eating the shipping cost, people still messaging me offering me like 20 bucks.....
True. Though, it can be a real pain selling all of those online. Sometimes, you just gotta sell it asap in a garage/yard sale.
Well, would have about 150 bucks for 3 or 4 figures so not really that much effort and then just auction bundle the rest all in one big box with bubble.
@@Sydonia108 it's much harder to sell them without the box still.

As a Funko Collector that was a super deal, even for out of the box. In the box, it would have been crazy! I say usually 40% of in-box value in general from the PPG or Funko App price. These would be fun as a Live Whatnot Auction.
That is very true. This would be a killer auction. Whatnot is a very cool selling site.
Josh i was going crazy looking at them all!! Wish i could have been there!!
I wish I could find sales like this. The grails in there were killing me.
is in the box exclusively unopened? or can it be returned in box on sale?
Awesome pick up. Personally, I stay away from loose Funko pops if I don't intend to keep them. For me they are really hard to move fast loose, but if you are patient they do eventually sell. Great video !!
Those guys were cool because they were knowledgeable and passionate about the movies and characters. It's fun to talk to people who like what you like.
Dang I always wanna go to yard sales but I get hefty anxiety. This was a GOOD yard sale, the horror funko pops were AMAZING!! I screamed when I saw them lol. You definitely have a gift for finding these sort of sales. & you’re so nice to people too, your channel is genuinely interesting to watch !!
I almost lost my mind with the Funkos, $2 each 😭😭😭 The little GIR on the edge is so cute and so rare!! Invader Zim fans buy any merch they can find because of how rare IZ merch is in general.

Sometimes you just want to get rid of things. I've spent hundreds of Euros for books just to sell them years later for 2-5€ per book. It's hard but sometimes necessary
Agree
@A Ng there not toys first off there collection items
@A Ng only you think of it like that. Everyone has that inner child inside them, no matter how old they've become. So what if he collects what you call "toys" at least he is happy with his life. Pretending to be matured while being miserable inside is worse. I pity your partner and male siblings and even father for having someone like you in the family who thinks toys are only for kids
2:54 I like such small details. When you put them on the table, I heard their weight and what they are made of, because I've never had them in my hands. Looks solid art.
I know the family was so blessed by you.
I feel bad for them honestly, It wont be such a big collection unless someone really like it and spend time to collect it, they probably have to sell it for some reason.

Why? Why did you have to tell me? Now all I see is white Sadie 🥲
Why? Its plastic you look at...these Funko things will be worthless like beanie babies in 10 years...so many people willing to buy plastic junk made in China...then China buys all the land
Wrong and ignorant comment. people said the same thing about Pokémon cards and look how much that hyped up over the last year, some of the rarest funkos can be up to $5000
@@jazzajazza1660 Right, the rare ones will always be valuable like the rare beanie babies still are...same with rare Pokemon cards and Funko's...The collectors market will be similar to Beanie Babies however, and not Pokemon... that's where you are ignorant comparing the two. Pokemon as a brand continues to draw in young fans as well as older fans who grew up playing and collecting... Funko's however will see collectors drop off like they did Beanie Babies....If I had a choice between a 5000$ Funko vs 5000$ Pokemon card, I'd choose the Pokemon card because the Funko faze will die out like BB, but Pokemon will probably still be popular many generations down the line.

This is a great lesson in why you need to bring the initial cost as low as possible, it’s probably going to take hours of research, and time, and shipping costs to sell these things so afterwards the cost per piece will be well above the deal made in the beginning. Jesus those pops are worth so much, there out of box but there grails for £2 each and loads of them, luckiest person ever
