One thing to point out, a beginner doesn't need to upgrade to track specific brake pads so long as they have more than half meat left, especially in some type of higher performance car. Just a recent flush of brake fluid is fine. The vast majority of beginners don't brake harder than 60% let alone achieve threshhold braking. And 100 treadwear tires are more of a hinderance to developing driving skills rather than helpful. Otherwise, this is helpful info for first timers.
I did my first track day this year also and it is nice to have a basis of comparison. My experience was like Chris's where I was alittle nervous. What added to the experience was the day was iffy and it began to rain while I was on track. I would have appreciate by the track instructor some advice on what to do under those circumstances. That was my second time out and the track. I'm big on Steeda products where I have applied many of the chassis and suspension parts to my s550 mustang.
Thank you Chris and Jamie.
That was awesome! Great driving footage!
Great job Chris, you’ve tackled the hardest part, your first track day, congrats!
Awesome video guys. Be proud of yourself Chris. Most guys wouldn't have the berries to do what you did. And overall I think you did pretty good for your first time. There's always a learning curve in everything, you will get better with seat time.
I love captain deadpan. These two are an interesting combo, but it works. Good job laying it all out there, never be afraid to learn to succeed!
If only the driver mod were the cheapest one! Seat time ain't cheap but it's worth it
Excellent content, thank you for sharing! I currently have a '15 GT outfitted with Steeda Suspension goodies and looking to do my first track day soon, this was encouraging and helpful.
Thanks for watching! Wish you the best of luck with your track day. Stay safe and have fun!
I wanna get out to The FIRM so bad!
Speedometer please
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get speeds for both Jamie and I due to a glitch with the cell phone app. I do have my full lap through the link below if you’re interested! -Chris
