    A point on tyres. Also check your pressures. Dropping the pressure can also improve grip. I didn't know this until another driver let the pressures down on my car. I noticed the difference straight away.

    Hello JB! On Number 5, equipment, you forgot to mention a neck brace. In my opinion, its absolutely essential to have one as it might save your life in some harsher accidents. Ive heard countless stories of people getting out of rough accidents almost unharmed due to those and they dont cost much!

      Yes very fair point - and if you have the cash for a Hans, they’re functional AND look pretty cool too!

    another good tip is take a torque wrench, and tyre pressure gauge, its unreal how your bolts can loosen with a lot of heat from hard braking. and go with your mates, first day i did was cadwell and chased people all day rather than timing, much more fun 😜

    The cost of a track day including tyres, brakes, oil, coolant etc etc, getting there and home depending on where you live is absolutely absurd in this country. This makes it very difficult for the average person to do. They must be making a killing at these tracks. Great fun though but the cost is not friendly to the average person. Good tips!

      You’ll love it! Very safe track. Pay attention to the morning briefing about etiquette and leave ego in the pit lane when you head on out 😊 there will always be someone who is faster than you so just move over when you see them closing in. You’re not setting hot laps or time attacking at track days so don’t behave like it’s a race and before you know it the bug will bite and bite hard! Have fun 😉

    Bedford is defo the best beginner track due to it being pancake flat and very wide and lots of safe passing spots for faster cars and drivers. It’s also the first track that claimed my engine due to a slow coolant leak unbeknown to me 😢

    • @CarsWithJB
      @CarsWithJB  Před 3 lety +1

    • @A2KLAU
      @A2KLAU Před 3 lety

      @@CarsWithJB yeah defo not, but lesson to make sure to check my car over before a track day and during the day to lift the bonnet and check nothing is leaking. Now after each run I have a quick look to make sure everything is doing what it should. All my coolant hoses are now silicone too to prevent this ever happening again 😅

    Would love to take my car to Castle Combe, but I've never been able to convince myself to pay for it. I think I'd be worrying about how quickly I'm shredding my tyres and brakes too much to really enjoy the experience. One day when I've got a driveway/garage I'd love to have a 2nd, cheap car that I can thrash on track. FN2 Type R maybe. We'll probably be well into the EV era before I can afford a big house though...

    • @CarsWithJB
