Your videos are just showing what you do all day and for some that is probably mundane. For me, it is entertaining to watch you hook and unhook and the processes you go through. It must be a bit exasperating to you that you have CZcams experts watching everything you do and provide input on how you do everything wrong. But for me, I just watch and enjoy.

Agreed! Also, I don't know why it keeps surprising me, but it's so cool learning about all the neat time- and effort-saving devices that exist in the heavy equipment world. Things like how the drawbar on the dump trailer hooks up to the truck. Or the pockets for the safety chains. Or...

But, for the driveline bearings to be bad and no one noticed and the engine blown that thing should get a good once over by a knowledgeable tech. For more than 30 years of tying down windsurfing boards and kayaks with straps on roof racks and trailers, I wrapped those stupid tails around and around bars and tied them off, which was always a waste of time. When I saw how you use clamps, I thought how effing stupid have I been for over half of my life. Got some harbor freight clamps and now my l smile clamping those tails. Thank you, Casey, for making my life so much better! 🤣

Something similar came up in a comment on video I was watching yesterday, on a completely different subject, that's relevant. It seems like a lot of people are taught *_one_* way to do something that can be done several ways, and then assume that's the *_only_* way to do it. So, when they see someone do it differently, the conclusion they jump to is that it's wrong.

I like how you always explain what you are doing and why YOU do it that way. Also, about the chains on a tongue trailer being crossed, which is the correct way and the reasons you explained why, I have argued with lots of people over that. They couldn't grasp the reality of catching the tongue on the chains.

Casey, you may be able to get the camera to be more reliable by putting a different or taller antenna on it. One way would be to add an extension cable (coax with the right fittings) so you can relocate your antenna to a high spot with the least obstructions (metal) between it and the cab unit.

When my son was growing up, we did different things together. When we got done, like pouring concrete, re-roofing a house with his uncle, he would say, “Well that’s a job I would not want to do as a career”! I thought that when I realized someone off loaded what ever was in that dump truck, more than likely by hand, one shovel full at a time. If I recall correctly the truck was loaded when you picked it up the first time.

Crossing the chains on every trailer I have owned was BS. The chains attached to the tongue of the trailer at a single point. Looking down on the arrangement, the chains and the hitch receiver they attach to form a triangle. If they were to form a rectangle it would make sense. That would require the chains to attach to the tongue of the trailer further back. Even then it would not be that effective because the attachment points on my hitch receiver are only about 4 inches apart. If they were more like a foot, this would be more viable.
