@jediflip2515 I would love to I just gotta invest into the tools! I'm 17 and I own a 2012 Ford focus and I discovered that the rear strut mount is broken. It's 180 bucks to replace it at the mechanic when the piece is like 40 bucks on amazon lol. I I watched a video on how to replace the rear strut mount and I thought it was easier than building legos when you got a lift😂 I understand the mechanic gotta make a profit but dang, it hurt my wallet as a student. I would be doing all my repairs since most repairs can be done by the average Joe unless its more mechanically complicated then I'd feel safter taking it to a mechanic. If I had the right dam tools I'd b my own mechanic. Mechanics make alot of money charging Y's so mych cuz they got the big expensive tools that we don't, so I guess it's pretty reasonable.

To all the clowns complaining about labor fees. Buy or rent a building, hire some techs, buy a lift and shop tools, buy a shop keepers insurance policy that costs more than you make in a year, and any other business expenses that you need just to open the door, and do the job yourself.
Let's say the job took 15 minutes for both sides. How much could a shop possibly make charging actual labor? The business wouldn't survive a month. You don't expect a parts store to install the parts for free, why would you expect a shop to?
Lets play a game of make believe. Instead of calling the work labor charges, lets call it installation fees. Kind of like other types of products that need to be installed by a qualified professionals, like your AC system, or your security system, or your water heater, etc....
