At the 4th attempt I managed to update my car.
For the 4th attempt my phone failed to connect to my car so there was no Bluetooth or Android Auto connection... but I then tried the Update and it worked 😀

I successfully updated this but it took 2 attempts. 1st attempt failed.

Thanks for letting me know that it worked for you at the second attempt. I have tried twice and it failed in exactly the same way both times.
Since it worked for you the second time ... I think I should just keep trying - hopefully it will work eventually 🤞🤞🤞

Thanks for letting me know that it updated OK on your car.
That's bad news for me because that means that there must be something specific about my car that is preventing the update. I guess I will have to phone my dealer and ask them for advice.

If you have a look at the other comments you will read that one person says that his car was bricked by the update - he had some strange behaviour from the wipers and the parking brake and then engine wouldn't start !!! 😲😱 I have asked if he can leave another comment to let us know what had to be done to the car to fix the problem.
However, another person has said that the update worked at the second attempt. I have already tried twice and its failed both times as shown in the video twice.
I have also noticed that my car is not reminding me to do the update ... which makes me wonder if Toyota have realised that there is a problem with the update and have stopped cars updating ?????
I have decided to wait a bit before trying the update again. I am hoping I get a few more comments ... either saying the update was OK ... or saying there are problems ... and then I will decide what to do ....

My wife has a 2022 Yaris cross hybrid and had the exact same request to run this update. Unbelievably the whole car is bricked. The wipers start to go on their own. The parking brake says it’s unavailable. The engine won’t start. I’ve never seen anything like it in 35 years of motoring? No idea what to do. How can running a satellite navigation update prevent a car from starting? She’s just driven it back from work. Now it’s dead!

I had no idea that doing an update could have such a disastrous impact on the car. I did know that updates shown on the screen affect more systems than just the SatNav but I am shocked that the update has bricked your car. This should not be possible!
I guess I would phone the AA first although I am pretty sure that all they will be able to do is take the car to a dealer. I hope your dealer can reset your car and get it working again.
I have tried to do the update twice but both times it has failed as shown in the video. Based on another comment I was going to just keep trying until it worked but I am not so sure now!!!
Can you post an update and let us know what happened and how your dealer fixed the car. Cross fingers it is easily fixed 🤞

Do you have update info? What to do?

Thank you for the reply. I think it was a flat 12v battery after further investigation. It just happened to give up the ghost during trying to update the satellite navigation. We have the car back up and running after trickle charge overnight and we’ve booked it into a Toyota garage for a service. They said they’ll take a look. Hopefully this will be it. Also bought a Noco jump starter pack just in case. 👍

Thanks for the update. Its good news that it wasn't the update .... but bad news that you have got the 12V battery problem that is affecting a lot of Yaris Mark 4 owners. It has happened with my own car czcams.com/video/-UkrUwpkePM/video.html
Some dealers are very helpful when you have this problem others are less helpful. My dealer was very helpful and fitted a cable so that I can plug a solar charger in easily czcams.com/video/o8MkFUPfdvQ/video.html
I hope your dealer is helpful 😀
I will try the update again on my car tomorrow ... I have already tried twice so hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky 🤞
