@@kyledabearsfan Totally agree! Years of occupation definitely have nothing to do with this Hamas attack. But then again who really knows for this mess has been going on for decades think its just too late now of having any explanation or fixing this for good at this point.
If Hamas "makes" Israel commit war crimes and do the rest of the things it chooses to do, then by the same logic Israel "made" Hamas do what it did.
Also, dude, while no one in their right mind is going to defend Hamas' rhetoric and actions like October 7, Israel has repeatedly said that they are out to hunt down Hamas wherever they go and kill them all. They have continually said there is no possibility for a permanent ceasefire, even if it would mean the return of the hostages (which Hamas has offered) and have killed at least some of the hostages themselves. Meanwhile Israel is refusing a general release of thousands of Palestinian civilians it holds, something the international community continues to seem to want to ignore. I think every single person in the world needs to understand that no matter what has happened, this occurs next in the newsroom of any reporting agency:
"Ok. How are we going to spin/lie about this so our enemies look bad, and we look great"
Media is the peoples enemy
Paranoia about everything being fake and trust in "alternative media" is far more harmful. Reporting agencies in western countries can face litigation if they knowingly lie, which is exactly why Fox News settled the dominion case for nearly $800 million. Also, this is very simplistic as media orgs have different political standpoints, and many count their own governments in the enemies category depending on the issue - so that description only really applies to state-run or ideologically possessed media.

This incident is exactly why the U.S. chose to airdrop supplies instead of ground deliver. There would be no question first of who was shooting if an airplane is taken down.
Ground delivery is the only way to reliably deliver aid in the necessary quantities. The first aid drop of Jordan and the US delivered enough aid for 0.02 % of the population (rounded up) to have 1 meal or for 0.01% to have the nutrients recommended for a day. So very true
There's no reason to hold back footage that proves your official statements. So releasing only parts of the footage is an admission that your own footage makes you look bad.
Edit: if classified hardware was used, or military doctrines, or whatever else people have brought up, that means that they attacked an unarmed crowd. Yall do realize that, right? Crowd control techniques aren't classified, and aren't classifiable since by definition there's a crowd of witnesses when you use it. You don't bring stuff you don't want people to get a close look at in an aid convoy cause there will civies up close. And they released footage, so the sensor ain't classified. So that leaves used a weapon they don't want to admit to (which already contradicts the everyone was trampled narrative) or the footage contradicts the narrative. In short words: they're lying or they'd show us they weren't.

Great coverage of the events
I don't know who to trust anymore, everyone keeps on lying on the issue.
You cant listen to what their saying. You can only listen to whos saying it, look at the pictures and videos, pay very very close attention to what parts are cut out, think about what priorities either side might have had to take part in the current events, and then assign a probability to each story.
Then, over time, remember that when people are telling the truth its easier than lieing. Who is obfuscating. Who is virtue signalling instead of just being strait. Who is omitting information from their narrative more. Are there any things no one is talking about that are VERY important and relevant? Once you figure those out, you can skew the probabilities a bit more to be a bit more confident. (Youll notice fox news sounds like a dumpster fire until they start talking about something that they dont need to obfuscate to fit their priorities, and suddenly oh their so rational)
Most important, do not forget. Do not allow the media cycle to erase information from your mind by not covering it or tilting the camera away. Imagine it for yourself if you have to. The things that they try to make you forget, the things people ignore in their comments: focus on those things. Why are those not being focused on? Why does no one want to talk about that.
This channel is also pretty good. For this event we cant know yet, like he said. But the cut drone footage is pretty damning. Ill bet it went down similar to how he said, with a few nuances that might be inconvenient to smooth narrative.

So, we're supposed to be concerned about Hamas being attacked during Rammadan? I'm confused because I thought the last few extensive attacks from surrounding Arab countries intentionally targeted Jewish holidays? And Hamas attacked on what I've heard was a double Jewish holiday?
That has nothing to do with it. What people are finally getting outraged about is that Israel - and Israel alone - can somehow get away with killing well upwards of 1% of the total population of Gaza in just a matter of months without facing *any* kind of repercussions. Until Israel formally annexes the West Bank and Gaza and gives all current residents the option of full Israeli citizenship, with full protection under the law and compulsory military service like everyone else (except the Haredi population), it is impossible to see this as anything other than the intentional extermination and/or forced relocation of the non-Jewish population.

Yep. Full bullshit.😊
This sound less like a massacre and more like a cluster f#@%.
Did you even listen to the video? Just because it was a cluster cuck doesn’t make it not a massacre. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Yep. The Israeli side didn’t think the aid deliveries through and probably provided as escort of not particularly well trained reservists. The Palestinians side probably tired to mob the convoy in hopes of securing aid before Hamas steals it (like what happened to most of the aid sent before) which most likely made the undertrained reservists panic. The instructions given to the reserves were probably along the lines of the aid trucks will stop in a certain area and hand out aid so they weren’t expecting to be mobbed. As soon as one soldier started shooting everyone started shooting. The other soldiers in the convoy probably though that they were in a fire fight because you can’t really tell who’s shooting in the heat of the moment. This led to the civilians and aid trucks panicking. As a result the civilians trampled each other and the aid truck ran over civilians.
Total clusterfuck.

I think Isreal/the international community should negotiate with the PNI. Mustafa Barghouti is the leader of the party, very popular amongst Palestinians and is opposed to both Fatah (which it views as corrupt and undemocratic) and Hamas (which it views as extremist and fundamentalist).
Not perfect actors but nobody in the region is and they are the Palestinian party most amicable and desiring of peace. If Israel wants a solution to this blood-feud between nations I think the PNI is the best option.

I seen video of this with a weird nonchalant joking title. I didn't know the context though, so I didn't realize what this was.
The problem with saying that the Hamas run ministry of Health statements are confirmed by Human rights organizations is that the people who confirm them inside those organizations are the people who live in the area - Palestinians working for Human rights orgs. And they have a vested interest in confirming those reports - either from ideological beliefs or fears of retribution by Hamas.
The idea that the war must be stopped at ramadan is ridiculous, because the oct 7th attack happend on a hewish holiday, simchat torah.

To be honest considering the use of suicide vests in these conflicts I would be scared to have anyone running towards me let alone a crowd. Also I liked the phrasing in this report "Mostly docile" and "They were fired upon while they removing food" and the statement about that said the Israelis fired at men trying to get near the aid trucks, so they only fired when people tried to loot the trucks not before so less a pre-planned ambush more a reaction to desperate people stopping trucks in a conflict zone and looting.
Stop being dramatic. There have been no suicide bombings from Palestinian resistance in 5+ years.
@@soaknights Yeah once your culture is associated with suicide bombings, you don't really get to complain when the people you suicide bombed are anxious of you. Also there were reports of Suicide Bombers being deployed in the Gazan war, according to the IDF.
@@psilobomWell the IDF uses human shields and then complains nonstop about how they have to kill children because Hamas might be standing near them
@psilobom you realize Irgun popularized the car bomb, does that mean every jew driving a car is a legitimate target? Of course not
If your justification for killing someone is "their culture is known for X" that's not a justification. It's just racism
I wish Simon when bringing up the casualty count of the war would clarify that the Hamas run ministry of health does not differentiate militant deaths from civilian deaths when counting casualties. They also consider anyone under the age of 18 to be children which includes 16 and 17 year old military aged males. Which is very important to remember when people say half of the population of Gaza is children which just means under 18 not that half of the population are 5,6,7 years old etc.
Yes people under 18 are children. They are minors. Soldiers under 18 are called child soldiers for a reason. I didn't know holding a gun made you age up magically. How about we acknowledge the fact that the IDF considers any males over 16 as armed hostiles regardless of if they are yielding weapons or not?
A comment for your "children" comment.
If they are young enough that their deaths in a US school shooting would draw "thoughts and prayers," then they _are_ still kids.
Not even 16, you can find accounts of 13 year olds too (not here specifically, just in general)
Same goes for women. Both are more than capable of picking up a gun and doing damage. They're called the great equalizer for a reason.
Minors in most countries are under 18. So yes, they are children. My 17 year old daughter is not legally allowed to vote or drive a car. Still a child
@@horrorfan117 they are still kids but unfortunately Hamas trains them to be soldiers

In one of these quotes, it says sending convoys without security would always lead to the incident that happened. Sorry but what exactly would convoy security do to prevent people that are desperate from looting ? Let me guess: fire warning shots. What would happen next ? Let me guess: panic, stampede, trucks running people over, more looting and more shootings. In other words, the outcome does not depend on who manages the convoy security. The desperation and the lack of orderliness is the root cause here. Next step is to decide why there's such a situation in gaza, which i think is a hotly debated discussion already.
Nonsense. Israel wasn't securing the convoy *at all*. Its' forces lagged behind and lacked any form of crowd control or even simple presence at the site itself showing there would be good order. The idea that these people are ravenous animals makes for good dramatic story telling and fits the IDF's rhetoric, but it's as wrong as it is offensive. Having no security is asking for chaos, but it's not asking for anything else - there was no chaos before the shooting even though it seems people were unloading food. But it's not hard to secure a crowd that isn't out to get you. And this wouldn't be a problem if the aid were moving in unimpeded. All of it is manufactured, not some natural inevitability.
@@georgeshapiro301 So if no one escort the convoys, every thing will go better?
@@georgeshapiro301 you lost me completely from the moment you said "it's not hard to...". And however offensive you find this, hamas "policemen" don't go around in riot gear. They just have AKs and if things escalate, it'll be real bullets, not rubber, not baton. They have actually shot their own population in the south, where the food situation is less dire so we know exactly what would have happened if hamas had been securing this convoy. And to be very clear, this situation is very much in line with the local culture
There’s videos where you clearly hear machine gun fire coming from the Israeli line. UN observers at Al-Shifa hospital reported “a large number of gunshot wounds.” Also, the IDF initially denied any involvement before settling on the warning shot line
@@sickjuicysjamshack3580 mmmh what's your point ? According to the video, other observers reported many with injuries consistent with stampede and being run over. I would always question the testimonial of people who are at risk of being thrown off the not-so-proverbial roof by hamas. As for the IDF admitting to shots being fired, what you conclude obviously depends on your own preferences in this conflict. For some, it's just the tip of the iceberg, for others evidence of transparency.
"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" - Hanlon's razor.
Did the Isreali soldiers here start there mission with the aim of killing civilians, most likely no. Was the soldiers adequately prepared for what could meet them in the misson, looking at the results, no.
As someone without training for these kind of situations I can't honestly say I would have reacted with calm to being swarmed by people, where to my knowledge, there most likely are people that want me dead.
I would fear for my life, and I think you would to. Scared people do stupid, dangerus things, and I believe this applies to both sides.
Aprothing soldiers in a warzone is dangerous, and depending on what is happening at the time, stupid. Doing nothing when you are swarmed/ aproted by desperat hungry people that might hate you is also stupid. Shooting the desperate hungry civilians to defend yourself is stupid, but is most likely safer for you, even if it is objectively moraly monstrous to do so.
This is not to say that what the Israeli soldiers did was right, it was an gross over reaksjon with fatal disastrous results, still I don't believe this result was their intention or mission, and claiming it was is in my opinion dishonest, and bordering on disinformation.
Also don't forget a lot of the IDF saw first hand the aftermath of Oct 7th, so i wouldn't be to shocked if those people had 'ichy trigger fingers' i have just watched a video of what happned and honestly i'm not shocked Israel went in hard.
I suspect the Israelis shot at more people than they claimed and I suspect the pro-Hamas people are also lying about the number of bullet injuries on bodies and hospital patients. I think both scenarios happened, people ran at trucks and got ran over from both the trucks and stampede, Israelis also started shooting at the civilians they knew would be desperate for food.

@wyguy1212 That would not be surprising.
An Al Jazeera journalist in Gaza named Mohamed Washah was found to be a Hamas fighter.
Yeah but the other source is literal IDF Spokespeople, whose official story changed like 3 times that day. When did military talking heads become trustworthy anyways? They do PR for death and destruction. The fact that you can look at a situation where people are being deliberately starved and then fired upon when those starving people act out of desperation to try and keep themselves alive and your response is to dismiss It all with “the journalist has connections to Hamas” just shows that the IDF have done their job well enough to get you to justify actions that are completely unjustifiable
This was as close to balanced as you can get but you failed to mention why Israel pulled out of the negotiations and that’s because Hamas refused to provide a list of living and dead which is significant. Israel actually went back to the table and agreed to a later proposal put forward by Qatar and Egypt which Hamas rejected. Just saying Israel backed out of the talks without saying why is misinformation. This video also made no mention of the fact that Hamas takes most of the aid that gets into Gaza and sells it at mark ups which has compounded the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Lastly, Hamas controls the media narrative that comes out of Gaza so what ever its civilians say could be influenced or even changed based on what message Hamas wants to get out.

Who, Hamas? They definitely aren't regretting that. Their plan of ruining the reputation of the IDF even more so than it was before is working. Using civilians as scapegoats for your own goals is horrible, no matter who it is.
