The gender reveal party was originally created by a woman who had constant miscarriages and wanted to celebrate her baby more. It’s a shame it’s become this.
I hope the lady is doing well if shes still alive
I mean there was probably someone who did it wayy before her
@@bingusdingus8268 same
@@jinx8624 you’re most likely right but this woman seems to be the reason the trend picked up :)
@@bingusdingus8268 Last I heard, she is alive and well!!! She’s also come out to say that she was saddened to hear that her gender reveal parties had grown so much they’ve started wildfires and injured many people ):
As a American in Cali, most of us hate gender reveals ever since someone caused one of the biggest wildfires in Cali’s history because of a gender reveal.
Yeah my house was red and smoky outside for a month
Lol imagine being the baby that caused a colossal wildfire just by existing
@@garmen- That baby was definitely an aries
I saw that. Someone destroyed 47,000 acres of trees and he got 5 years probation and fined $100,000.
Imagine if that kid ended up being trans and the whole thing was for nothing.
In 2021 there were 4 gender reveal deaths and only 2 shark deaths meaning it is 2x more likely to die at a gender reveal party then to swim in shark infested waters.
That’s because most of the people swimming weren’t swimming in shark “infested” waters.
I do believe if all people were always swimming in shark “infested” waters it would be very different numbers.
If we were to run those statistics with ONLY people swimming in INFESTED waters and only gender reveal parties using PYROTECHNICS, it would be a much different ratio....
@@xGusstaffx I was just quoting moist critical bro chill out.
@@Critter1267 you’re expecting me to know what a “moist critical” is,
@@xGusstaffx are you serious?
@@xGusstaffx you know who memulous is but not moist critical?!?!?
I totally agree, I find gender reveals to be too much trouble for what it is. I think small little like baby showers or reveal parties where it's just the inside of the cake is fine, like you still get to enjoy the cake, but doing big exhibits like this is just over the top. Also the fact a lot of times these dads seem to only get really excited if it's a boy and sometimes they look really disappointed of it's a girl. The moms, for the most part, seem excited either way.
Personally for me, if I decided to have a kid, I'd probably prefer to not know what the kid is gonna be until it's born. If I've already decided I'm gonna have a kid it's not like the gender or sex of said child is gonna change how I act or feel about it. Guess I just never got the big deal.
may I ask if you're going to call your baby by gendered pronouns?
@@wistyeria Because that's very relevant to this comment hmm yes
@@wistyeria it doesn't matter. As long as the parent respects the child's wishes to change it (if it ever happens) it doesn't change anything. Arguably, pushing they/them pronouns can also cause gender dysphoria as most people prefer gendered pronouns so in the end what matters is the parents' love and respect if something ever changes. There are also languages that (sadly) don't have neutral pronouns so expecting people to use/make new pronouns can be damaging because of transphobia/queerphobia/legal reprocussions. Not everyone is in the right place to use gender neutral pronouns towards the baby (when it still doesn't care about it anyways) and it's not the criteria to be a good parent
@@wistyeria I mean, seems obvious, but you end up having to call your kid something. Until the kid can decide for themselves, you're always playing a guessing game of what they might go by.
Say you use They/Them, gender neutral pronouns, then the kid turns around and says "I want to go by she/her now," were you Wrong for using they/them?
No, because you do not know what set of pronouns that individual, that tiny developing person with unique thoughts and feelings, will land on for what is most comfortable for them.
Being a parent is not about being right the first time all the time, you're human, and try as you might, you're going to fuck up. Being a parent, to me, is about loving, caring, and supporting your kid(s), through thick and thin, through all their changes and phases, and trying to give them what they need to be happy & healthy, and overall just good people. That's what my parents wanted for me, and that's what I want for my kids
Did I answer the question? Idk I've rambled on too long haha
@@wistyeria is this a troll...
Gender reveals aren't about revealing the babys gender anymore. They're about who can come up with the stupidest idea
Why pay so much damn money to see if your baby has a dong????
People are weird
*your
*weird
Apologies for all the grammar nazis in the replies
Ask Americans why they pay so much money for health care
It’s not too see if your baby has a “ding dong”
It’s too see weather it has a “ding dong” or a “coochie”
I had a dream George uploaded a normal commentary video but without the mask and I realised a couple minutes in and was *shook*
When George eventually has a child for the gender reveal it’s just going to be a balloon filled with black and white confetti
It's such a strange and pointless thing. If you called it a "baby genital party" I guarantee it wouldn't catch on.
well. hopefully.
Well....might catch on, just may not catch what you're expecting
I know how I'll be replying when someone says they're having a gender reveal
Certainly tell you a fair bit about the people who DO attend
Always a enjoyable 24 hour cycle when big man George Memelous uploads
Feels like even more than 24 hours now
"let's reveal the baby's gender!" pulls screwdriver from precariously balanced metal dome above the demon core
Omg it's a boy🥰🥰🥰
6:27 well now look george, you made alex cry
You know it’s gonna be a good day when funny bandana man uploads
I read that as "banana man" lol
@@nibroc06 i read it as ‘furry bandana man’ and was very confused as well lol
The whole concept of gender reveal parties sounds pointless to me, nobody gives a damn about your baby's gender, people go there for the free food and drinks and nothing else.
Thats the cynical way to look at it
But its also just nice to see others so excited about their baby vs not wanting it at all
People like being around happy people
Miserable people like being around miserable people
true lmao
“I’m a big fan of a fight between two babies” 😂
My favorite is the gender reveal that sent grandma to the next plane of existance
Someone I know didn’t even make a whole cake, just some cupcakes for the parents to bite into and see the colour.
I happened to be there and I was asked to guess, then I was shown the cupcake with a bite taken out of it.
Low budget, low fuss, no fuss, no wild fires 😆
I saw one once where there was one muffin and the guy ate it all in one and they didn’t know what the gender is lol
@@joejoebatmanjjb8704 I now know what to do if I ever get given a gender reveal cupcake! 😂
U know Georges kid will be rocking baby bandanas n raybans 😊👍🇬🇧
I feel like some people only have kids just to get viral from the gender reveal 🙄
😂
Yeah, and base their youtube fb insta on 🤢🤮
I hate gender reveals because I’ve seen so many where the dad gets disappointed/angry when the baby is a girl :(
I've never seen this, but I'm definitely not doubting it.
I mean you can't blame people for having a preference
@@CartoDarko I think you can
@@CartoDarko a gender of a baby shouldn't matter. You should always be happy to have a child regardless of gender and some men that get angry or throw a missy fit for it being a girl is just stupid and immature.
@@jadshaw9272 I never said that "hissy fits" are justified I'm just saying that people can have a preference, if they get mad or whatever then yeah obvs they're being immature
Gender reveals have existed long before the trend but after the trend started they just got more extreme and extra money being spent to read a note.
I think gender reveals are nice and fine if people want to do it as long as they are safe. I like the cake idea best as well. Fireworks and explosions seem a bit excessive and dangerous.
It’s not so much the explosions and fireworks being dangerous as the people setting them up and setting them off.
But that’s the best part!
Abolish gender, bathrooms are now by age.
Child, Teen, Adult, Elder.
Abolish age, bathrooms are now by whoever i find pretty
Terrible idea
You talking tripe.
can we bring back the word ‘prank’ and ‘liar liar pants on fire’
Watching memeulous with splatoon music in the background is a surreal experience
I agree. But it's a good choice
The only gender reveal I’ll care about is if they have a full on WWE match between a guy and girl, winner is the gender of the baby
George you should get a Wallace cardbord cutout to go with the Gromit thing
Pussio MDF is a phrase I never thought I'd hear 😂
Was not expecting to click on a memeulous video and hear splatoon music but I'm very happy i did
THE SPLATOON MUSIC MMMMM
not the picture of james when you say cake 😭
Couple: *is expecting child*
Nearby Forrest/grasslands: Why do I hear boss music?
*Terraria wall of flesh theme starts playing in the background*
Love the Splatoon Music in the background George
Image people getting chickens to fight to find out the gender of a fucking baby
I have my best mates gender reveal party in a few weeks. think death might be a better option 🙌. Thankyou for another great video George. your videos really help me mentally 🙌🙌
You always make my day George
Aight for the water Melon one, they just cut the top off like a pumpkin. You can litteraly see in the vid, were the tops being held in place
gender reveal parties are for people who think anyone cares about their facebook posts about what they just ate for dinner
It’s just isn’t true and sounds like it’s coming from a pretty bitter person.
9/10 “gender reveal party” videos you see on here and Facebook, weren’t put together too film and upload.
They’re put together for the family/extended family (You know... the people that care and it’s relevant too) and then someone in attendance decides to record it, or they pay for a videographer, (to capture the memory’s) and keep them for the family, but nowadays, rather than burning off 50 CD/DVD’s and giving them out too all the family and friends, it’s much easier to just upload it to a video sharing site.... like say.... CZcams?
Then the cool ones end up being shared loads by people, and end up in viral compilations, thus making their rounds on the internet and everyone seeing them...
@@xGusstaffx im not bitter, i just think theyre stupid, needlessley self indulgent, pointless and uninteresting. if people want to do it, then fine, but they shouldnt put it online expecting to get pretend internet points from strangers, because if they do that, people like me will come along and shit all over it. you keep your family business to yourself, it has nothing to do with anyone else, in the same way that you should keep what you just ate for dinner to yourself, because no one really cares, even if they pretend to be
I did a gender reveal. We played it really simple. Plain canvas. We squeezed small paint bottles out as background. Then we had a pink or blue bottle completely covered up and we squeezed that as well. Now it's a piece of art in my son's room and a fun reminder
Thats actually really sweet that they kept the painting lol
Mmm just what I needed. Ty George memeulous
The splatoon music at the beginning made me happier than it should have
I can relate
I appreciate the splatoon music in the Intro lmao
I was expecting more property damage.

Imagine if Ethan’s gender reveal went like this!!
Never would I ever think I’d hear Splatoon music in a Memeulous vid but I love it lmfao
2:53 Idk why but the song playing while I was watching George made me die laughing😭😂
I really like your videos Gregory
Imagine being a couple struggling to have a baby then you see one of these clown shows. I think it'd drive me over the edge.
if a celebration of a child would drive you over the edge then so would a baby shower or a birthday party. that's so dramatic
@@arianeponicelli9115 mf you know fully well that's not what they meant, stop putting words in peoples mouths
Ironically, the person who created the idea of a gender reveal party were struggling to have a baby and when they finally got pregnant, they had a big party to celebrate it (:
@@screenedat0m Yeah I saw someone else comment that and honestly that's inspiring.
I love how George thinks deadlifting 220 is a flex
I liked this video. Is it possible to do a part 2?
A little bit of George Memeulous never fails to

Off topic but y tf am I shocked that he used splatoon 2 ost as his background music
Love you george
Good video Gregory
I feel this one
I enjoyed this video quite abit
I really think that gender reveals are so uncomfortable. It puts expectation on someone before they're even born
the picture of james when he was talking about cake 😭😭
3:34 When George looks into your soul
This is basically the movie up
A grumpy old man who hates children and stays in his house all day.
He then has to be with children and decides they are not that bad an now wants one himself for the gender reveal party.
(Haven't watched up that recently but that's basically it)
george using splatoon music in the intro was surprising to me
The person who did the first ever gender reveal must be so disappointed
What has this tradition become
she actually really is quite disappointed. can’t remember her name but i know she regrets it a lot because it ended up this way. she had tried for years to have a baby with no success, so did a reveal when she did conceive!
@@caitlynb30 I don’t know why this common misconception of that being the first ever gender reveal is a thing.
Gender reveals have been happening for hundreds of years it’s usually part of the baby shower

george hating on gender reveal parties vs highly rat8ng most of them
I came when I saw a new video from my hubby 😍

oh god geroge hasn't found out about the great american past time of pumpkin throwing.

the splatoon mudsic threw me so off man, thought a demon turned my switch on
The best gender reveals are the ones that turn red.

@@xGusstaffx I ain’t the best at spelling cheers👍 that’s not being sarcastic
haha why did he use splatoon music for the intro
Surely there's a sane middle ground between 'I don't want to know if it's a boy or girl, I want it to be a surprise' (dude you're giving birth, is that not a surprise enough?!) And these narcissistic gender reveals. Is it just me? Probably.
That April Fools joke was funnier than it needed to be
Shut it bot
Bot comments are starting to make less and less sense every single day
GEORGE HAS SPLATOON 2 MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND AT THAT START. Splatoon 2 is my favourite game :)
Cheese 🧀 gromit
if anyone's wondering, the first gender reveal party was done by a couple who had tried for a baby for years with no success. So there was something more to celebrate there.
But then it kinda got taken out of proportion by white women
It aint just white women, seen loads of Ghetto reveals too lol
@@elias_xp95 what does ghetto have to do with not white?
Why tf does this have to be a race thing? Anyone of any color can be fucking stupid.
Big yikes on a couple of these comments here
What tf does the colour of those peoples skin got to do with it, just a bit of casual racism, and here is mine, you’re obviously a very bitter black person, with about as much personality as a glass of water...
And I’m 100% sure there were MANY, MANY, Gender reveal celebrations, far before the woman you’re referring to.
And why does it have to be “woman”? Men can be filled with just as much joy finding out the sex of their baby as woman can and do.

My fave gender reveal vid is the one in a caravan park with multi-coloured confetti and the bloke says “it’s a fookin lesbian!”
Cherrypicker is the word you're looking for George
anyone else hear octo eight step from splatoon2 in the intro lol?
Speaking of Gender reveals when we had my baby cousin's gender reveal we did like a smoke bomb in a Halloween cauldron decoration and it flew all at me and I couldn't stop coughing for like a minute
city boy 😂
One day a gender reveal party will cause the world to end in a pink or blue explosion
George the reason people hate gender reveal parties is 1) bad for the environment, fires and people dont pick up the streamers/balloons afterwards. And 2) because making such a big deal of what a baby's junk looks like is uncomfortable, especially considering the kid might be trans. There's other reasons as well but these are the main ones.
You can't get a trans baby it can't even speak yet how's it supposed to make it's mind up about that
@@coadingtoad3936 you're right, babies can't be trans because they don't even understand what gender is. It's a baby, it doesn't have cognitive thought.
However, that baby will grow up at some point and may realise that they're trans. Families that do over the top gender reveal parties are always So excited by the boy/girl divide that they create environments where their child doesn't feel safe coming out to their own parents.
@@coadingtoad3936 they mean later on in life. it's also just "gender stereotypes: the party" lol
@@CartoDarko Yeah it feels like it's putting a big emphasis on the kid being a girly girl or masculine boy before it's even born. I can't help but feel it'd be really uncomfortable if the kid ever was trans/had any form of gender struggles (I could imagine parents saying "but we spent so much money to announce you were X, how can you do this to us?")
@@satapon4129 yeah exactly!! it's just kinda icky idk
social media has a lot to answer for
