The Mamas & the Papas were an American folk rock vocal group formed in Los Angeles, California, which recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968. The group was a defining force in the music scene of the counterculture of the 1960s. The group was composed of Americans John Phillips, Cass Elliot, and Michelle Phillips and Canadian Denny Doherty. Their sound was based on vocal harmonies arranged by John Phillips,[2] the songwriter, musician, and leader of the group, who adapted folk to the new beat style of the early 1960s. - Hudba
Cass Elliot was an amazing woman.. she was so talented and so smart..the energy she put out was incredible.Then of course the genius of John Phillips is undeniable

This is literally my new favorite video on the Internet!! My favorite band 🥰 have you seen the video of Cass doing a pitch for yogurt? "There have been no wars in the name of yogurt." Or predicting Hamilton the musical! That's from a game show clip. Also that performance with Denny and Cass gets me every time 😭 I love them together so much

Guess,I was born in 1961 so they’d been big round mid 1960s and 1970 maybe the end of the band to be exact.
I remember my older sissy having the copy of their latest album,she loved them.

Fun fact: the reason why Michelle Phillips' mic wasn't working at Monterey was because Jimi Hendrix when on before the Mamas and the Papas, and his set blew out one of the mics.
