- Thousands of people from the "movimento delle Sardine" ("Sardines movement") are singing Bella Ciao as a protest against some right-wing political parties.
The Sardines movement is against populism, fascism, racial discrimination, and sovereigntism.
Sardines are against anti-euro and anti-EU parties: that's why there are European Union flags.

This song is more than 100 years old every Italian young and old knows the lyrics. Now the whole world knows this song too. I am proud of it long live freedom

An entire town got liberated from the nazi cowards by one Canadian soldier. The first battle of the war was a handful of Polish postal workers with outdated weapons holding out for 18 hours against hundreds of SS with fucking artillery. Four of them survived and escaped. @@lavitadistradalamiavitainc5640 Youre 14, i can guess
For those who were wondering the meaning of the lyrics, it's a song of italian partisans against fascist dictatorship, and also about the fight against nazi-fascist invasion in 1943.
One morning i woke up
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao, (I would translate it as "Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye")
One morning I got up
And I found the invader.
Oh partisan,
Take my away
Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye
Oh partisan
Take me away, because I feel like dying.
And if I dye
As a partisan
Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye
And if I dye
As a partisan, you have to bury me.
And bury me
up there in the mountain
Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye
And bury me
Up there in the mountain
In the shadow of a beautiful flower.
All the people
That will pass by
Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye
All the people
That will pass by
Will tell me "What a beautiful flower".
And this is the flower
Of the partisan
Bye my dear, bye my dear, bye my dear, bye, bye, bye
And this is the flower
Of the partisan
Died for freedom.

There's a rarely-sung final verse to the song, revealing even more anti-fascist intent. It goes,
"And his flag, it was red,
Oh, goodbye dear, goodbye dear, goodbye dear, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye!
And his red flag - it was the flag of labor!
And red, upon his flag, the flag of labor!"
@@commandercorl1544 this verse is erased from history because this shows singers were actually pretty left wing (no brainer, they were opposing fascists.) Such a shame. Even original version of this song was about labour, sung by rice field workers. Last verse needs to be added everywhere
