      Although a few of my ancestors fought in WWI against the Belgians (most were in the Eastern Front), I have nothing but respect for the brave defence of the Belgians defending their homeland against impossible odds.

    That Big Bertha weapon was the original bunker buster. And that whistling is intimidating. Also, love the new voices and sfx.

      Fun fact! In real life, the gunner crew had to run an entire American football field away, put cotton in their ears, and even then they had to hold their mouth open, otherwise their ears would burst from the sheer explosive force.

    Amazing. The depth of field, cinematography, set, the little details... the soldier's arm being bent backwards after being shot (1:56) is such a small thing but adds a little touch of reality. And these just keep getting better...

    White War (Battle of the Dolomites) [1915]

      I particularly love the WWI animations. I would also like to see Battle Of Tannenburg (1914) and the 2nd Battle Of Ypres (1915). I like your choice of Austro-Hungarian involvement. I like the way you think. The Eastern and Isonzo Fronts are all too often forgotten.

    Amazing work as always! You have a amazing talent for things like scale and inertia the best example of this is definitely the fortress and it’s guns (the sound to is amazing!) but on the small scale as well by switching the arm on that one German soldier when he was hit really added a sense of power and speed that bullets have.

      @squirrel287 technically not the first battle of WWI, but close. The first movements on the Western Front was German troops crossing the Luxembourg frontier.

    Good to see the old ways of fighting being portrayed ie how empire armies used to dress and still fight in lines at the start of the war. Most films and documentaries of ww1 only show the trench warfare.

    Now this is how you make a PROPER Lego movie. Not CGI animated but stop motion! This looks so freaking cool and I would imagine apex levels of effort were made to produce this. Such a unique way of reenacting real life battles from history.

    I absolutely love the video! I have been to simliar forts, and the way you recreated the battle was fantastic. Also, just a suggestion, but I think you could make a really good recreation of the battle of Isonzo
