''I love the smell of burning Lego in the morning. You know that burned plasticky smell? Smells like...Victory''. Great work with the Huey chopper and fighter jet models. Instant Vietnam atmosphere!
If anyone wants to know more about La Drang, The Operations Room covered it very nicely. It is worth noting that this was one of two engagements, the other that happened later was a lot more of a mess-up. I love the attention to detail, such as the white phosphorus round landing right before the helicopters move in!
Ok, I can not begin to even describe how stellar this was! The explosions with the bricks is incredible, and every little detail shows the insane amount of effort you put into this! Even the grass shaking under the helicopter is an effect that showed how much you cared. I greatly look forward to your next project!
My grandfather was involved in the training of the Viet Cong. He is from the USSR, Perm. He showed a video. He showed a video. He said that you repeated everything exactly, almost exactly. Unfortunately, he didn't finish watching everything. For him, this is the most traumatic event, except for Afghanistan. Well done, keep up the good work. You know how to make cool movies.
Watching those Lego WWII recreations in the early 2000s was one of my favorite things to watch when I got home from school. This throws me back to see that these are still being made, but those videos from my childhood cannot compare to this masterpiece. Thank you.
I love all the effort. All the tiny little details and the amount of trees made . The frames were perfect . As homelander said it was perfect down to every bit of it
the fighter planes were so well done! this could easily be in a movie. I remember when you just posted the verdun video and thought that was the most revolutionary stop motion you had made, but it's only gotten better. keep it up :D

Well done! The 1st (Air) Cavalry Division deployed in Vietnam was the commitment to an experiment in mobile warfare which was part of a long transition from being a mounted cavalry division formed in 1921 or 1922 then an infantry division during WW2 to an airmobile formation during the Vietnam War to finally, in 1986 onwards to a cavalry division which is a full armored division with 3 armored brigades and a full aviation brigade today as part of the III Corps. A salute to you @JDbricks and a salute to all those who served our nation in both war and peace!
Bro this is AMAZING, the fact that the animation looked so clean even with lost of shrub/environment surrounding the minifigs is insane, the attention to detail on everything was great!
Fun Fact. Broken Arrow (said prior to the CAS) is actually used for when there’s an accident involving nuclear weapons, warheads, or components that don’t risk nuclear war. These can include accidental or unexplained nuclear blasts and non nuclear detonation of a nuclear weapon
It is used by troops in contact to call for immediate air support AND is also used for nuclear weapon mishap. A basic web search would have told you this. Is your reference that crappy Travolta movie from the 90s? Lol.
@@Keifsanderson first I’ve heard of that film. I did do a search and what I found was a reference to the nuclear meaning. And to my credit I never denied it wasn’t used for CAS
@@KaiserStormTracking Sorry. No credit awarded. You said the term "is actually used for when there's an accident involving nuclear weapons." This statement indicates sole usage and denies it's usage in the context depicted here and in the movie. Just own it. Lol. P.S. Don't go watch that movie unless you've just watched Face Off and find yourself thinking "You know what this day needs? More Travolta."
@@KaiserStormTracking Pearl Harbor was bad. You talking old or new Midway? Haven't seen new, but you're really missing out on some excellent cinema. If you haven't actually seen We We're Soldiers, it's pretty good, but the book is even better. But there's so many great war movies out there. I think it's because warfare is so evocative it makes for an excellent plot foundation.
no way I just got recommended one of your old videos and went to look at your channel page again to see if there were any newer vids since the last one I watched was the trailer and guess what! new vid uploaded 9mins ago! amazing job as always JD!
That is some stellar animation work! Great environmental stuff! The Hueys look sweet. And I loved the pair of F-100 Super Sabres coming in for a napalm strike.
Using Huey choppers as a modern cavalary was a new thing during Vietnam war. I was three years old when that war ended but this video really made it come to life.
Wow!!! What a beautiful video! It was a very cool moment when the guy pushed the position and sadly moments later died too. You showed the reality of war more precisely than war movies do.
JD does it again! Keep up the grear work. Imo JD is officially the GOAT of the brickfilm community. He is the only big channel that gets millions of views per video and actually puts out great video multiple times a year. Congrats on all the success!
Who the hell has anywhere near the amount of free time to do this? The set, directing, sound, pictures, effects, editing, etc. This was very well done.
That scene when the American soldiers put the injured soldier on the helicopter reminded me of my great uncle who flew the Huey and took injured soldiers back to base
