Jerry MacNeish NHRA Stock Eliminator D/S Original Numbers Matching 1967 Camaro Z/28 4-Speed RS 302ci

  • How about a numbers matching 1967 Z/28 Camaro Rally Sport that isn't being stored in a climate controlled building, but rather, being blasted down the quarter mile in record times? The Maryland native knows his classic Chevy and can spot a phony from a mile away, just ask Barrett-Jackson. Despite appreciating the car's history and value, he still wants to have fun, setting records while jamming those gears in the mandatory 4-speed combination that the Z/28 Camaro package was produced. Fully restored back to its original form and equipped with dealer invoice on the window, this car is quite the attention grabber at any track it shows up to.

Known Jerry since High School! A true dedicated, meticulous, conscientious professional if ever there was one. The man knows his Chevrolets, he's about the best you'll find, that's why Barrett-Jackson uses him. Glad to see he has this beautiful rare Camaro, it couldn't be in better hands. He's also just a all around nice guy, a great friend!

Never actually seen a 1967 Z/28 let a lone the RS option one. Actually own an original 1967 RS/SS was a 10 year old "Junk Car" that I purchased during a divorce case from the first owner as I was only 17 years old. Same rare paint code as yours except mine is still original never been repainted and shows nice enough still today. This car came factory air, the original block 350 still in as the 2 speed powerglide and 12 bolt rear end. Has the custom interior but is black with the white stripe seats. Full factory gauges on the console. One time ran across a guy with a 1968 Z/28 RS in the Mojave Desert while visiting my cousins. Since all those years I have come to know my car and all the other model options like rear flip down seats but back at the time all I knew is that I wanted a Camaro so guess just got luck finding mine bone stock and all.

I went to work for a local Chevrolet dealership in June 1967 right after I graduated high school , I also along with my fellow classmates get our notices to report to the draft board . Different story there . At the Chevy dealership there was a new 67 Z-28 Green exterior and deluxe black interior . The left front fender was damaged pretty bad and still had quite a bit of pieces of the creosote light pole the transport driver hit while he hot rodding the Z-28 . He delivered the Camaro in it's wrecked condition . The car was there for about 5 months and then it gone one morning when we went to work . Never did find out where the car went but it was NOT in the dealership body shop . The Z-28 had quite a few options was said to be a special order car .

@@driverinterviews Exactly right. NHRA factored the '69-'70 Boss 302 Mustang higher because they had more actual HP than the '67-'69 Z/28 Camaro. Pure stock, they were quicker/faster than the Z/28. I bought an all options yellow '69 Boss 302 Mustang new from TASCA Ford in RI and I still have it. Ford Drag Team told me to increase the tire pressures in the rear Goodyear Polyglas tires for better traction and it worked. I then began doing low 13's and a few high 12's. Bob Tasca Jr gave me a few tips also. Different factory intake/exhaust manifold gaskets and simple adjustment changes to the distributer. Instead of leaving the start at 1000 rpm, I then had to launch at 3500-4000 rpm. Today, with drag radial tires, it does mid 12's consistently, although, I rarely ever race it anymore. Memorial Day Weekend 2021 and I'll be doing the same this year again in NH.
