girl you have NO IDEA how much i needed this. I’m 16 from the uk and NYU is my dream school! i’m also applying to other US colleges but my god the scholarship search has been a fucking nightmare. there’s so many scholarships out there but when you click on eligibility they all say “us citizen” like ughhhhh ffs. But there’s a good few out there and i’m so glad u posted this bc i really need some info.
if any US citizens r reading this please count ur fucking lucky stars because there’s so many private scholarships out there which you can apply to

Thank u so much for this information! I'm actually an indian-american in 10th grade. I do have US citizenship but i lived almost my entire life in India & i wish to go to NYU after 12th (PUC). I'm not sure if my spending 12+ years in India affects my eligibility or not. Since tution & living expenses are extremely high I always knew I would need a bunch of scholarships. This is honestly such an informative and useful video. Tysm for this. It probably helps many students.
No, it will not negatively affect your chances. If you have a US citizenship, you’ll be eligible for more scholarships based in the US

thanks for the video i have a question I a really poor guy in my country and when i was a kid i live with my mom ( now i live with my aunt because the city is big etc.... ) and my mom and my aunt won for year 1.456 dollar per years i think is very lower my mom don't work anymore and my aunt she work for yourself and don't have that money and now for some family problem i go living alone i think how i make finance aid with all that problems ? I'm out the school have 3 years and i go try SAT next years but my cousin said NYU don't have 100% scholarship i freak out start a research about and anyway have that problem dude .....

i'd start applying as early as possible! i found that i had more time in high school to do the applications than i do now, and there are also more opportunities for high school students

you just have to search for them online. try looking for local ones first, and then do US scholarships for international students

This also depends on the scholarship. Some are paid directly to the school and applied t tuition costs, while others just send the money to your bank account so you can spend it on anything related to your education costs

hey senaida I'm from India, I'm currently doing my bachelor's in journalism from an Indian university with education loan and my goal is to do my master's from NYU, so can I apply to scholarships assuming my education loan won't be a problem?
That will depend on the scholarship and the specific conditions for it.
Hey You mentioned that one shouldn't pay for getting a scholarship, whereas you have mentioned about NSHSS, which asks for money and there is a question about its credibility and authenticity as well?
when I applied for NSHSS, I didn't pay for their membership. I just applied directly to their scholarships. Sometimes, there may be an entry fee but as long as it's under $20, it should be safe to apply to.
Are those scholarships given international students too?

it depends, but usually the organizations that host and give out their own scholarships are more open to communication and supporting students

no, for NYU, it only covers around 25% of my entire cost of attendance
Man I got accepted on SCAD(Savannah) and I don’t know if I’ll be able to go cuz is expensiveeeeee. I’ll be there as a transfer student from Puerto Rico so. I really wanna go, they seem to have everything I’m looking for in the Film and Tv degree. Also, they have worked with HBO Max, Disney+, like HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!. I got accepted to Fall 2022 on September, idk if I still have time to apply to scholarships yk?. If someone can help me I’ll appreciate it

I got admitted to nyu class of 2025 and I was not lucky to get a scholarship and am considering declining the admission because am too scared to take a student loan. But again nyu is the only school I got admitted to. Advice pleaseee?
I'm so sorry you didn't get a scholarship! I would reach out to the NYU Financial Aid office and tell them your situation. They may be able to help you if you explain to them that you really need the scholarship.

NYU's tuition fees change every year and depends on what program you're in (for example for Tisch, each year averages around $62,000/year

hii, i read that they do not really offer it for international students and that the chances are much lower that you will get accepted as an international student when you apply for scholarships/ financial aid etc. because the expenses are much higher for international students (but maybe i’m wrong this is just what i found out from people that applied as international students and from yt videos) :))

depends on the school, but usually if you're applying as a first time applicant, they may still consider you for a full scholarship

what is the deadline to use the scholarships you were awarded? 30 days?, 6 months, 12months?...
There's usually no deadline. They'll either send it directly to the school to be applied to your tuition or they'll send it to you as a cheque, PayPal, etc.

the majority of my scholarship $$ comes from NYU, which funds about 60% of my tuition over all 4 years

I havent personally found many scholarships that look at SAT scores, but if you search by SAT scores as the qualification, you might be able to find some

most universities in Canada give scholarships directly, there are also Provincial and Federal funded scholarships available
however I'm not too familiar with Canadian schools since I didn't apply there and I'm a citizen
