  • Universal Studios Japan is a must-visit when you go to Osaka. It's huge, expansive and depending on the season you go, there are special events happening. The biggest (and latest) attraction there now is the Super Nintendo World for all Super Mario fans alike.
    Admittedly, I filmed this in Dec 2022, but with the winter holidays coming up, this could prove useful just the same. The tips in the video are all based on the latest info, so I hope it helps!
    Thank you for watching.

      Hello! Aww, I’m glad it was helpful! Have an amazing time there. November should be lovely weather - versus when we went in December, it was freezing even with multiple layers. Thanks again for stopping by! :)

    After visiting both Nintendo Worlds in Japan and Hollywood, I feel that both parks are better in their own ways.
    In Japan, there is a lot more different activities to do, with more variety of different foods that are way better than Hollywood's Toadstool Cafe (Except for the Burgers, Hollywood does them better), they also have their own unique headbands which japan's headbands are better, while hollywood's shirts and hats are better. And rides like Mario Kart, compared to Hollywood, takes less time to line up for than in Hollywood. If you are lucky, you can get in to Japan's Nintendo World as early as 7:30am in the morning.
    However, unlike Hollywood, there are some days where you MUST book a Timed Entry Ticket (Virtual Line) in order to get to the park, and sometimes you must go to a specialized kiosk to book them. Meeting mascots (except Toad) is much stricter, due to the fact that unlike Hollywood, you are not allowed to have your phone to take pictures with mascots, you must stand in a specific position when you meet mascots, you must pose how the mascot poses for pictures, and you must pay 6000 yen for pictures.
    While in Hollywood, it's just you interacting with the mascot, the staff are allowed to use your phone for picture taking, and you are allowed to greet the mascots with how you like to greet them (plushies).
    When I met Peach in Japan, the line takes longer compared to Hollywood (30 minutes in Japan). And she would just interact with the staff member every time and only interact with me based on what the staff tells her to do for the first 30 seconds of the meet and greet to fill in that time. When I even tried to greet her with my plushies, she just ignores them.
    When I met Peach in Hollywood the line is way shorter (2-15 minutes), and she is even willing to get to know more of my different plushies, and with Toadette being her favourite, she would always be happy to hold her and hug her for the picture-taking. The meet and greet is straight to the point and no nonsense.

      I’ve not been to the US one but I would assume it’s bigger. Still, interesting to see the differences. But yeah, the waiting lines at USJ is pretty insane and stressful. Thanks for dropping by!

      @@currynana if it helps, I went to Japan's Universal before the holidays officially started, and lines were significantly shorter. The same thing also applies to Hollywood too.

    Helloo im plannjng to go usj this dec and Im really confused by the whole tickets situation HAHA does the express pass 4 only get you into the express queue of the 4 rides included? Meaning for other rides we will still have to queue in the regular queue? 😢 do you think it is enough if we are trying to hit as many rides as possible? Or would express pass 7 be better?

    • @currynana
      @currynana  Před 9 měsíci

      Hello! No worries, it is indeed confusing 😂 but yes, express pass 4 will only put you in the express Q for the 4 specific rides listed in the ticket. Express Pass 7 will give you access to the express Q for the 7 specific rides listed in the ticket. If the rides are not listed in your express pass ticket, then yes, you gotta Q in the regular Q. Generally, express pass 7 would be the best choice (especially if all the rides listed are rides you want to ride anyway) cos the park is huge! Factoring in time for snacks, shopping, lunch, and the size of the park - it would be hard to cover everything in a day. Hope that makes sense and helps!

    hi!! thanks for the video!! i'm going on the 21st of nov, and i bought an express pass (4) via klook, but the assigned time for SNW is 7:30 pm, which is evidently not enough time as the park closes at 9pm. would you know if I can register an earlier timed entry before activating my fast pass once i arrive at the park? I'm planning to go super early to skip the whole timed entry fiasco, or just get an earlier time. thanks for the information

      Hello! I don’t think you need to “activate” your express pass - it’s “activated” as “redeemed” when you enter the area or specific ride. So yes, I think you can still try your luck for the earlier timed entry. I’m not sure how early in advanced you can register for those but check the website / app. Another more tedious tip would be to try your luck on the day itself for the on-site lottery chance for an earlier timed entry. Good luck! If anything, with your express pass 4, the Mario Kart ride will be worth it. 7.30pm prolly means you should just do the rides, shop and take pictures around. Skip the cafe and go for the kiosks instead. Hope this helps!
