My local bikeshop won't even service these kind of decathlon derailleurs, so i have to fix it myself now. thanks for the excellent video
That's a bummer, I hope they change their mind someday.
they are stupid then, they work like a shimano ones. Nothing difficult about them. Maybe they are bummed they cannot sell them too haha
@@ondrejmanych5688 I sold my decathlon bike and bought a giant with shimano group set and i have to be honest the quality and easy of setting up the drivertrain and brakes is very good compared to the decathlon bike.
Cool video! I set up derailleur myself! Very invigorating feeling, thank you!
I love you. Thank you for this video
This is a great video, but I feel the rack the bike is sitting on may be problematic for most folks will have to turn the bike upside down to work on it as we don’t have said repair rack to do it facing up. Following can be tough when you’re picturing every step upside down.
Huh, that's a really interesting point. I've never really thought about producing instructions on how to work on your bike upside down, I'll have to ponder that one. Thanks for sharing!
dealing with this problem right now😂 clockwise or counterclockwise 🤦🏽♂️ i’ll never know
Hi team. Just wanted to ask if you guys will continue making these parts with existing pull ratio unlike Shimano which will be moving on to a different pull ratio. While they will be not compatible, I will use Microshift parts only.
Yeah, even though Shimano is changing standards, there are still a TON of bikes out there that need to be serviced. We will continue to make compatible parts to allow shops and consumers to replace one part instead of the entire drivetrain.
Do i need to tighten the cable? Or just simply lock it?
Hello. Tell me, please, how many optimal chain links are needed to put on a 1x10 system? 36T sprocket, 11-42 cassette, Shimano Deore M5120 derailleur.
It depends on how long your chainstays are, so you have to measure the chain on the bike.
When shifting from a low to high gear the derailleur is skipping over gears. How do you adjust for that problem?
turn the barrel adjuster
You probably need to pull the lever for only one click.
Modern shifters are capable of shifting more than one cog in single long pull.
I've been trying to adjust mine. It was working but now the detailer won't even move. Please help.
If you're having trouble, I would either bring it to a bike shop, or send an email to our customer service folks.
Even i loose b tension screw all the way there is still more than 5-6 mm between the cornet of the cover and largest cog, using m46-l
That's not normal, it sounds like there's something else going on with your setup. I would recommend that you fill out a service ticket on our website and our CS folks can take a look.
Looking to replace a Shimano Exage 500 LX w/ 7 speed, would the M36 work in its place?
Sorry for the late reply. The answer is yes!
greetings, one question. I bought a Specialized Rockhooper sport 29". It is equipped with Microshift m46. What is your opinion about this derailleur. So far it works very well, without any problems, but I don't know how reliable they are in the long term. I am thinking of replacing it with a Deore xt
I'm biased, but I think it's a fine piece of equipment.
I don’t have a chain breaker and I tried to take all that stuff off and now I kind of messed it all up. How do I put it back together and put the chain back because I can’t get the chain apart.
If you didn't take the chain off, you should be able to untangle everything and screw the derailleurs back on the bike. In general, it's probably the best practice to remove the chain first before removing any other part of the drivetrain. Good luck!
what model is mezzo microshift? can I use it in a 10-speed cogs??
Mezzo is M36. It's designed for 8 and 9 speed systems.
@@microSHIFTTECH Thank you..more power
Also, can i use a shimano rd on a microshift 9 speed cassette???
Yes, as long as the max cog and capacity specs are compatible.
Great, does it works with a k7 11/32t from Sunrun ?
Sunrun? Never heard of 'em. This derailleur will work with most 11-32 cassettes though.
@@microSHIFTTECH sorry, it should be Sunrace, but ok, thanks for replay 👍🏻
Can i use the m26c derraileur for 8speed 11-36t cassette?
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, it will work, but since the guide pulley is farther away from the cassette, the performance will be suboptimal.
Will this handle an 11-42 cassette without a hanger extender?
No, that is outside its maximum range.
Ok thanks. Currently running a 11-40 with it I’ll stick with that 👍
@@riskyrax Even that is out of range, isn't it? As of my understanding, the derailleur supports max. 28-36 teeth for the large sprocket. Can somebody from microShift confirm that?
@@dirkp.6181 11-40 works for me just gotta make some adjustments
What is the price of micro shift entry level gear❤
Alivio m3100 rd 9 speed VS microshift m46-L 9 speed
Which one do i buy???
You're asking the wrong CZcams channel, microSHIFT all the way.
Bro how to remove its pulleys i am trapped😢
On this model, the pulleys are riveted in. Sorry for the bad news!
Please tell me, when the switch is positioned above the largest star, it is absolutely not in the same plane with it! That is, it seems to be turned to the side (adjusting the screws H and L does not help) and the stars of the switch are deflected from the big star by about 4-5 degrees. At the same time, when the switch is above the smallest star, it is absolutely in the same plane with the star
This is by design. If the derailleur was in line with the largest cog, it would be out of alignment with the chainrings. The largest cog is inboard of the chainrings, so the derailleur works better if it angles the chain slightly to be in line.
The micro 26 been trying to end me 😅
Consistently unreliable when crossing ahead of speeding traffic...
Sorry for the late reply! I hope the speeding traffic hasn't caught up to you. It sounds like you might have an adjustment problem. Skipping gears can often be caused by a bent derailleur hanger -- checking that might be a good place to start.
What's that bike?
It's an All-City Macho Man Disc with an incredible aftermarket paint job!

These things are the most confusing devices to work on...
Do i need to tighten the cable? Or just simply lock it?
Just remove the slack from the cable, no need to tighten until after you fix the cable.
