Shock absorbers - old vs new

In this video you can see how to check shock absorbers. Shock absorbers from this video are from a BMW e90 (318D - 2010).
I assume that the old shock absorbers has same age like the car.

Hi Michele, is not so difficult, you need to suspend the car (I suspend it with the jack) , and remove the whell (I put the wheel under the car for safety), and there you have a screw (if you want to change it without nut) or 2 screws if you want to replace also the nut (I replaced also the nut, because was really bad, can be seen in the video in the lower part of the shock absorber), this is in the lower part, and in the upper part, you need to remove the trim from the trunk and you have there 1 screw. I think I was able to replace them in ~2-3 hours. I replaced also all nuts and shock absorber cover (in the upper side). You don't need any special tool. 😊
