Out of so many videos I’ve watched of you Simran, this one truly shows the struggle involved in the career path, that it’s not a cake walk at all 😌
thank you so much Harshit! It was a struggle but one experience I look back and am grateful for :)
As a Solicitor I find that mental health is key in the legal profession. Finding what kind of firm suits you is also very important. All the best.
100% agree
coming from someone who studied accounting at uni, I found the first few weeks of college so so tough! I am so proud hearing you quit something that didn't work for you! I've been in accounting for 4/5 years now post uni & I want to leave now, perhaps go in to something more creative but its hard to pivot I feel :/ yaaas to not feeling shackled by a job!
Thanks so much for sharing your insights! Agreed!!
This video was so engaging and I really resonate with your story! subscribed!
Omg thank you so much!!
May I ask which jobs can one change after worked in accounting please?
Great energy. It is wonderful to move to new places.
Hi I was accepted to work in PWC UK, I have a degree in economics and I do not have any experience, when I sent an email to this company, I was accepted to work for them as a technician, although I do not have any experience and I do not have a good level in the language, and I saw Your video on CZcams in which you tell your experience, and I want to ask you, should I complete the travel steps with them, or will I go back and stay in my country? I hope with all my heart that you will answer me as soon as possible, and thank you very much.
Hey question... just got hired by a big 4 as an aca trainee ... I have no accounting background ...certificate subjects are quite straightforward but I really struggle with the time ... the give as like 10 days of preparation to sit an exam... i have failed both accounting and tax with a score around 40 .... should I consider ACCA since I struggle with the study periods of aca.
Alright, we're in the same boat! I wanted to quit after my first month.
Ah no way! How are you feeling about it now?
@@simranjeetkmann Just got a review note from a manager saying in big bold letters 'I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS WORKING PAPER DO IT AGAIN'.
I quit after my third month
Did you already quit?
@@jonathanjovonovich4348 No. In my country the only profession allowed to get a CPA qualification are PAs. So I'm sticking to my firm for 3 years.
How’s work for core services ? Looking at marketing
I am not going to lie, I have been in Big4 for a year...They use some very dirty tactics. I was drawn to Transfer pricing due to my academic background, but soon realized the job mostly involves copy pasting things. When I asked technical questions, I was shunned. No one truly helped me and if they did decide to, it would turn into "ohhh come sit next to me so I can treat you like a baby". Fuck that lol I ended up sending some highly technical emails to make them see how they were treating me. The managers do not communicate openly and keep sending "feedback" to the Partner which is dishonest, leaving me to defend myself...if I ask questions, that invites arguments...in fact, I have hired a lawyer and even applied for mediation.
True 100 percent
I’m starting to think I’m gunna hate accounting so I’m switching my major.
You should! If only I could turn back time I would never choose an accounting profession
Don’t go big 4 accounting if you can go finance route. Same hours. WAY better pay. These people will suck your blood. Make big money out of the gate. Go finance. I regret working big 4.
Majored in finance. Now i'm in audit in a big 4 since the end of 2021. I want to quit so bad and go back to real finance
@@xseikoux I just left EY Monday night. Now in industry.
@@JohnSmith-cz3uswhich position? I don't like accounting and that's why i'm also thinking if i'm going a good choice by doing audit...
Audit exit opportunities are too much related to accounting in industry which i do not want //
This made me laugh so much ahahhahaha your road accent is so funny
i hope you meant 'accent' instead of accident LMAOOO
@@simranjeetkmann oi say nothing still... autocorrect is moving maud youno
@@bismarcko4847 LOOOOOL bro can't lie, i did see the comment and was like 👀 autocorrect got me shook hahaha
You made the right decision!
How are you doing with work and with your choice? I'm right now in a somehow similar position. I started in big 4 as a business intelligence consultant. It is what i studied for, the job in itself is interesting and i can put All my skills to the test and improve and learn a lot, collegues are good, but the hours They Are requesting, the Charges of work, what They pretend, what They take from you, the Health and anxiety, not sleeping good at night, i think it doesn't make sense, it doesn't add up, it is too much and it is not balanced, not even a bit
My managers would be sending emails at 4:00 am on a Sunday after logging off the previous night at 1:00 am 🤢
I can’t totally relate with all of these as I’m in similar situation. Looking to resign soon.
I did accountancy and later switched to property. It was the best thing i ever did. i am now a BTL landlord
I’m hitting 3 months in public and i feel like I got caught up in quick sand
Which country this pwc?
The fact that they can just trick people into doing roles they didn’t know they were going to do was super beyond me. I fell for the risk advisory scam 😞
@@jxpan246 Honestly, I learned a lot through trial by fire, but you absolutely do not need to burn in fire to know fire is dangerous. No, I would not.
Isn't this all big4 lol. They make a lot of promises during your interviews and how prosperous your career is only when you actually start working it turns out none of those career promises are made. They cant guarantee it to you and when you bring it up to managers they end up making more excuses about it.
@@zara4634which PWC you was working at them?
Money, time, life and big never go in the same ecuation
My dream to be a part of EY company 😔💔
Big four accounting is absolutely terrible. Tech is so so so much better.
Wait 2 weeks internship?!
4 weeks internship and then consequently, spent 2 weeks in the firm for the job until I decided it was not for me and I resigned.
