It's funny how our stories are kind of similar! A few years ago went to a Big 4 event and was so scared and intimidated by the experience that I felt like it wasn't for me. I felt like it was meant for people who were much brighter and smarter than I was, and that was actually became one of my low moments as my self-esteem was hit real HARD. Fast foward to this year, I adopted a "eh, whatever" attitude to emotionally protect myself from possible rejections, and decided to apply around for internships, including at the Big 4's because why not, there's nothing to lose, knowing in my head I would not get in. My grades are really crap (ranging from passes to credits LOL) so I expected to be filtered out in the first stage. Somehow, somehow I managed to get through and I will be starting soon! I still can't believe how that happened. Moral of the story is, believe in yourself (and if you don't God believes in you haha), and alway shoot your shot - you never know where a casually submitting an application will take you!

I'm glad you had such a positive experience! After hearing so many big 4 horror stories, it's good to know that it's not all bad 😂 Personally I don't think Big 4 is for me but I'm considering applying to some mid tier firms after I graduate. My internship at a mid tier firm was super stressful but overall a good experience!
