Great show, no fluff, no water talk, respect
17 Fierceness good luck everyone, cheers!
Catching Freedom
I am on record about Mike and Dan, they are the best. I will say this is a great analysis. Thanks DRF!
Resilience looks poised for a nice race. Granted, wood runners haven't done much in the derby last few years
Honor Marie. From Marie in Buena Park CA USA 😂😊😊😊😊❤
OK. We Honor You Marie!
Great show guys! Resilience could trigger a massive Superfecta!
Resilience
Fierceness is the pick for me. Got a great post draw to stay out of trouble and should get a good trip.
Congratulations! You've won a DRF hat! Please email dyarborough@drf.com with your full name, address and phone number so we can ship it over to you ASAP :)
Just a touch ❤😂
#8 Just a Touch. It was his first try around two turns in the Blue Grass Stakes (3rd career start) and he pressed and hung around a very fast pace to finish 2nd to Sierra Leone. Good post. Think he sits the garden trip and leads turning for home. Great breeding carries him the final 1/4 mile to the wire.
Best of luck everyone
Fierceness with Johnny V is the horse to beat. Wire to wire winner!
Thanks captain obvious
Fierceness with Johnny V. Saw him at Florida Derby. Tremendous performance.
like your picks. gonna substitute catching freedom for resilience and forever young in your boxes. box ex. tri, superfecta. Might throw a little mystic dan in some boxes underneath. Take catching freedom wps, and triple the show.
Good work again, gentlemen... Going with 5-Catalytic for the win: Saffie Joseph vindicates himself and not a bad effort in his graded stakes/2 turn debut in that Fla Derby... 4-Catching Freedom for second as he looks to make amends for the same connections as 2023 beaten fave Angel of Empire... For third, I can't decide, just going to hit the "all" button.
Sierra Leone my favorite and I feel like Catching Freedom and/or Honor Marie are going to in that last group heading for the wire
Just Steel gonna steal the roses!
Thanks guys. I appreciate you.
Fierceness in 16 now.
Thanks for the insight guys! As usual with the derby, tons of opportunity$$$
The Deepest Closer in this field is Endlessly. Final eighth 11:67. Rarely if ever have seen that trouble line..’circled field ran away!’ No dirt? All his 34 lifetime works are dirt except one. Take a flyer.
I would love that hat. I'll take Just Touch for the win!
Stronghold !! Thx dan/ mike !!
Fierceness to finish out of the first 4
1 - Sierra Leone
2 - Just A Touch
3 - Mystik Dan
Is there a Star Wars connection, however tenuous, to any of the horses, jockeys or trainers?
#MayTheFourthBeWithYou
Mike makes a great point about Domestic Product. Hot pace may destroy his chances.
$1 Superfecta Wager 17,4 over 17, 4, 2 & 8 over 7,4, 2, 8 over 2, 8, 7, 15 & 19
I think its Sierra Leone's day today! Watch out for Fierceness though!
I'm with Mike here, I think Resilience maybe peeking at the right time, and be the sleeper in this field. This is all dependent on which Fierceness shows up though. Always love you two's opinion, good luck yourselves!
Congratulations! You've won a DRF hat! Please email dyarborough@drf.com with your full name, address and phone number so we can ship it over to you ASAP :)
Always solid analysis guys.
So excited. I feel like Friday and Saturday’s cards are something you see in the fall at a BC event. 3:07
Well done fellas...!!!
Win Big Money. I have Sierra 1-4 with 12 others hoping a shot or two for HUGE payout. Superfecta time.
Cha Ching.
Sierra Leone. Thanks!
Catching Freedom Just A Touch.
Hands Down….Forever Young!
Resilience, I agree with Dan, he is a very balanced horse and his connections are proven.
I'm not very good at picking horses, but I'm all in on picking up a free DRF hat. I'm a subscriber, but I'm also a sucker for closers. My picks for this Derby are 2-11-7-4. Good luck everyone! I hope you win something!
I totally overlooked Mystik Dan, but 3 of my 4 picks hit the board. Not bad, but not good. Congrats to everyone who went with Mystic Dan.
Congratulations! You've won a DRF hat! Please email dyarborough@drf.com with your full name, address and phone number so we can ship it over to you ASAP :)
Great stuff. I have strongehold from early pool 3 not loving his chance but you never know.
I gotta go with Fierceness on top. He has two races that tower over the field on speed figures and a good post for him. If the race doesn't fall apart he should win. And if the race does fall apart, I think the good closers are evenly matched, and it's racing luck at that point.
I really like Mie Beer's picks - just as he wrote Mott won with Country House PP#19 and I am going to throw in that Stronghold for a 5 horse ex/triple box
Mystic Dan is the horse prepping right for the Derby
Fierceness will be looking for a place to hide before the top of the stretch
Good job..I hope you CASHED
Honor Marie
Fierceness! Exacta box 17-6,17-7,17-8, 17-15 trifectas 17-7-15, 17-7-18, 17-8-15, 17-8-18 Fierceness by 131/2 lengths like the Florida Derby? lol
What will the conditions be … what will the half mile time be … that will determine who does what BUT Fierceness is 12 lengths better than anyone in the filed at his best
7 Horse.. Have a 50$ straight double with the Oaks Winner (5).. payout is almost 2,300.... Good luck y’all!..
Sierra Leone
Hey guys I like 2. 8, 17 and 1
I like Forever Young, and Sierra Leone.
go stronghold
Just a touch just might get the lead at the half and never look back
18 stronghold at Los Al was being bumped around like crazy or I think he would won by 4
Fierceness
Fiercness is going to romp in the Derby ,,, I’m using Endlessly underneath with a few others in the trifecta. 😉
I'm already a subscriber and this is my comment. Send me the hat. I'm not on fierceness buy ya gotta respect Mike's pick
Wood Memorial winners 19 have not come in since 2003 #2 will have a wall of horses in from of him to get around he’s a closer
Sierra Leone is maturing faster than his sire Gun Runner if you look at speed figures at the same stage of their respective careers. Also, Endlessly has some of the most impressive wins of this group. I like him for a longshot play despite the surface concerns. He easily won his last prep race, the same one where Rich Strike placed 3rd.
Sierra Leone…and don’t ever forget your Mudder. My hedge? Show wager on Honor Marie.
What Dan said! #2
Forever Young breeding has taken years to get a horse at this level. He is 5-5! . Could this horse be the Flightline of Japan? My $$ says he will be there at the end of the race and possibly give Japan its first Kentucky Derby trophy. .
Don’t ever mention flightline and Japan racing in the same breath
@@FrankCarolei-lv6rb Japan Racing . . . . . . . flightline. (I took a breath between in order to make a Deep Impact.)
My pick is Honor Marie
I think #1 Dornoch might steal it from the rail.
With Fierceness in the 16 hole…looks like he’s the horse to beat. I also like Sierra Leone and Resilience…but watch out for Mystik Dan!
my free entry. pick me! 🙂
15-11-2-17-4
Who
@@barrycalvert8219 The numbers represent Domestic Product, Forever Young, Sierra Leone, Fierceness and Catching Freedom.
Just A Touch for me
Sierra Leone for the win!
Fierceness is just too good on his best day to go against.
Why doesn't Javier Cast have no mount
How bout some talk on the jockeys? All important in a big field
Domestic Product detests off tracks. Track Phantom will be keen, won't rate. Louisiana looks strongest with Catching Freedom and Honor Marie. Stronghold the wild card.
Not buying the B.S Mystik Dan on a soft track
Forever Young to break the Japanese curse!!
I want the hat 😊
Just Steel is the best for the price in a weaker than normal field.
Fierceness all day long .
It’s a derby hat for me.
Oh yeah can I get a hat?
Just Steel nips them at the wire...and the Coach scores another Derby win.
Why is Nobody On TV mentioning that both of Fierceness Romps going 2 turns has had a 24 Q. 24 2Q breather in the BC and 24 1st Q in the FLA. Derby. Thats not happening here.
😮
Just a Touch just in time…
If Forever Young doesn't like kick back he's in trouble. I was thinking of using him but now I think I'll pass. As for Fierceness hes either gonna win or be nowhere
just a touch but the odds will be dropping from ml
Is anyone else here just for the hat 😅
For years, the favorite hardly ever won the Derby. That seems to be less true in recent years. That said, nothing like a bigger payoff. Mystik Dan looking great, value-wise.
Both you guys are awesome this I’m going with Forever , young Fierceness may be the best horse, but the best horse doesn’t always win the Kentucky Derby
Domestic product
2-11-12-6. Would love to see Young Keith Asmussen win on Coach's horse.
I believe Keith will soon have to go to Europe to ride competitively like his uncle Cash did because as tall as he is he will have trouble making the lower weight limits jockeys have here in the USA.
After winning the US Eclipse for Jockeys in 1979 he went on to win the Washington D.C. International and the Arlington Million in Chicago.
He was the first foreign rider to win the French riding title. Between 1985 and 1990 Asmussen was that country's Champion jockey every year except for 1987 when he competed in Ireland. In 1991, he rode Suave Dancer to victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, France's most prestigious race. In 1998, riding Dream Well Asmussen completed the double, by winning both the Irish and French Derby. Internationally he also won the 1993 Canadian International Stakes, the Japan Cup, The Irish Derby, and the 1997 Hong Kong Cup.
Every year with this Japanese hirse nonsense.
@michaelpulisic9873 They've already won Breeders Cup races. They have been buyers of US thoroughbreds for quite some time.
That simulation is so bad
Blah Blah Blah in 2022 Rich Strike fell out of the clouds with a jockey nobody knew at 80 - 1 and beat them all to win the KD
These guys are pretty dang good there takes won me a 15-1 at keeneland and they gave a 10-1 today at Churchill
